This usually doesn't get started until later in the day. Hopefully it will get some more traffic if it's earlier!
I'll add a GTKY question too.
GTKY: Do you know what you're doing for birth control/family planning after this pregnancy (more kids? Absolutely done after this? Does this affect your choice in BC)?
Let me know if that's gigantic, I'm always on tapatalk

GTKY- I'm really unsure about this. I'm pretty sure I want three, but we would have to wait until DS (2.5 yrs) was in Kindergarten to have the third. I have NO clue what to do about BC which is why I chose the question. I don't want the pill because of breast feeding. We hate condoms, and I'm clueless about IUDS
I keep forgetting to take a picture!! I don think I have shared in like 3 months. But I'll play with the GTKY.
We are totally done after this, and if I was in c-section land, I would get a tubal. I have been torn between the Nexplanon implant and an IUD. IUDs really squick me out, but my OB may have talked me after we talked more about it and told me how she has found less complications with them as compared to the implant.

I am still in my nightgown so no pic, but I will add one later.
GTKY: I think I will do monocyclic BCPs. I have PCOS and recurrent dermoid cysts. I do best on a consistent level of hormones and that seems to keep the dermoids dormant, too.
MH and I are not sure if we are OAD or if we'd like another child. We'd go the FET route as I have 7 frosties. We'll get a better idea after baby is born and we get the hang of parenting.
GTKY: We think we want a second child. I'm cool with the chance of Irish twins... mostly... But given how hard it was to conceive the first, I don't think we will be protecting. We will likely need IVF again to actually conceive as we clearly had a fertilization problem (with IVF 14 eggs retrieved, 2 fertilized, 1 viable embryo).
GTKY: I think I'll get another Mirena IUD. I got my last one 12 weeks PP and had a pretty good experience with it for over 2 years. We are undecided on a third baby, so the IUD is a good option since it gives us 5 whole years to decide to have another or to get H the Big V. If we do go for a third, we would probably wait until DD2 is about 2. I have zero interest in 2u2.
And DS wanted to give the baby lots and lots of stickers!
GTKY: 100% done after this kid. H will be getting a vasectomy this fall. Did condoms last time until I got my period back (DS was 9 months old) and then I was charting to avoid so condoms were used when I was fertile. It was annoying to be honest, but I knew I didn't want to go on birth control again, and we wanted a 2nd (started trying when DS was around 21 months) so it was the best option for us.
acorn99, I'm really on the fence about IUDs also. They totally freak me out. I think its the whole strings poking out thing. But I have no other information about any of them, so I'll have to look more into it.
I'm thinking I'll go on the minipill until LO is 12 months, and then go to something else.

Pic later. I'm babysitting and I've been playing in puddles all morning.
GTKY: We are absolutely done with bio kids. We still talk about fostering/foster adoption down tell line when these kids are school aged. I can't handle hormonal bc. I've tried a few and they have legitimately made me feel crazy and cry and get irrationally angry. We've always used barrier methods or been ttc. DH will get a vasectomy this year. If I need a sceduled c-section for some reason, then I'll add a tubal.
GTKY: We will be having at least one more, if it were up to H we'd have Irish twins or 2u2 (which I don't want AT ALL). I told him last night that maybe around 18 months we could start trying again but that I want time to enjoy Sam all by himself so I won't be ready to talk about another baby until he's at least one. I have no idea what I want to do regarding BC. I've considered the IUD but have heard so many horror stories over the years that it makes me very apprehensive to get one.
madamewaffles I'm wondering if going off my BC in July might have caused my Dermoid cyst to flare up so quickly...do you think this is something I should bring up to my OB about when we discuss BC?

Stm 30 weeks 6 days, team blue
GTKY: we did condoms until I got my period at 8 months pp. Then i tracked my cycles and we avoided my fertile periods. Breastfeeding makes sex very uninteresting to me. So I know my husband wasn't so happy with the frequency it was happening last time. I am not sure there is anything I can do about that. I am not sure we are done having kids. We may want one more in a few years so we will probably do something similar after this baby. I dont like BCP but i dont know much about any other methods. I haven't thought about it too much honestly. I probably should.

Def not a bad idea! I went off the pill in March 2013, discovered I had bilateral dermoids in March 2014. Had them removed in May 2014 and then by September 2014, two new ones had sprouted and were almost as big as the ones removed in May. They are still there as we were pursuing assisted reproduction at that point and did not want to delay treatment. I had monthly monitoring of them to make sure they weren't posing any threats. They have only grown ~1cm more over the last year, and they will remove the cysts when I have my c-section. My RE was confident that hormonal BCP kept the dermoids dormant and that I should go back on whatever I was on before since that seemed to do the job!!
GTKY: No more pregnancies for me. We have talked about adopting but that wouldn't be for awhile. The only BC we have ever used is condoms and family planning. After this baby either H or I will get something permanent done.

I had no idea I even had a cyst on my left ovary until my 6 week ultrasound when they found it and it was at 8cm! My OB said that it's probably been there since I was little but that doesn't make sense to me because at every annual appointment/pap smear they would always feel my ovaries. Before the surgery in December it was very clear there was something there because my skin was raised and had a bump where the cyst was, so I don't understand how it wasn't found sooner if it had been there for so long. I'll have to talk to her and see what she thinks, but it seems like she's not very educated when it comes to dermoids.
As far as BC/family planning... Hadn't really thought about it yet! We definitely want one more after this, so I don't think I'll be going back on the pill. We'll probably just go the "natural" planning way out of simplicity.
Looks like I'm carrying kinda high. Didn't realize til I saw this pic.
Gtky: I think we're done at 2. Hormonal b/c is not my friend, and we're not ready to do anything permanent, so we'll nfp and condoms. My cycle came back around 10 weeks last time and was a little unpredictable, but I still managed to not get pregnant until I wanted to be.

melody330 I loved my IUDs and might go back to them after this pregnancy for period regulation (my tubes are completely blocked so any actual BC seems kinda pointless). Neither me nor my husband ever noticed the strings.
Eta: Without BC I have really bad heavy periods, on the IUD I barely had anything, just some spotting here or there. I loved it.
housecarder I'm glad to hear you've had a good experience with IUDs! I've heard so many stories about them becoming lodged in one of the walls or penetrating the uterus and needing to be removed,or migrating into the uterus/disappearing/falling out, etc. It seems like people either love them or completely hate them!

I've had 3. One after DD, one after DS. We had it removed to start TTC and then changed our minds and had me go back to school instead so I had it put back in. I went for soaking through a super plus tampon in 2 hours to only needing a thin pad on "heavy" days.

That would be such a great benefit! Plus not having to worry about remembering to take a pill at the same time every day would be nice.

I loved mine as well. Like housecarder, it really helped with heavy periods. I had super light periods for the first year, and then nothing for the second year. Can't complain about that!

Had to run out to the field this morning super early and it was cold!
30 weeks 4 days.
Qotw. No birth control here. If I got pregnant naturally that would be a fucking miracle. I'm already thinking about when to do our next FET with our last embryo...do I want 2 under 2? Not sure.
tikoberry99 watch you be one of those miracle stories where it takes years and medical assistance to get pregnant with the first, and a surprise baby comes along right afterwards!
