Omfg it's beautiful out so I decided to open up ALL the shitty windows in my house....I walk into my den and one of the cats pushed the screen out and was jumping back IN to the house. I have no idea how long the screen was open but luckily my other two cats didn't escape!
I was quoted 10k for all new windows. ..is this worth it? I'm all stressed now the curious kitty will try to open all screens now.
I lived in a house with single pane and it sucked. Not only because they were a bitch to open/close because they were old, but heat went right through them (both in the house during the summer, and out of the house during the winter). Which means that our electricity bill was higher, because they couldn't keep the heat in during the winter. We moved before we got them replaced, but our new house has a lot better windows and we don't feel the sun blazing into the room, and it keeps the heat inside during the winter.
I think if you are planning on being there long term, I would seriously consider it. Not only to keep your cats in, but because it might help with your electricity bill as well!
The whole long term thing is such a stresser because we just don't know right now. If we were going to be here 5 yrs I would go for it. Why does it have to be soooo expensive

tikoberry99, I totally get it. We didn't replace the ones in our old house, but we do still own the house and have a renter in there. I don't remember what we were quoted, but ours didn't include labor because our friend was going to do the labor. Even then, we kept going back and forth on if we were going to do it. Now, we are realizing that we are going to have to do it, but since we aren't living there (and our renter is amazing), she is fine with us doing them one by one (since the house eventually needs to be painted as well)....instead of trying to do them all at the same time. There are some that need to be done right away, and some that can hold off for awhile. But they are also the wooden windows with the anchors inside (totally old school!), so they will all eventually have to be gone.

We have same issue! House was built in 1961 so old ass windows. I'm thinking about doing a few at a time.
All this poop talk is making me dread the first post partum poop. As bad as pooping can be while pregnant, it doesn't even come close to comparing to the first one post birth. I remember sitting on the toilet for at least 30 minutes giving myself a pep talk - you can do it!
Ha, so true. I felt like a man sitting on the toilet for so long coaxing it out!
I just found a tick in my DD's bed as we were putting her to sleep. I'm so creeped out now I'm probably going to end up sleeping worse than normal. I'm so thankful I saw it and it wasn't on her but still I hate those things! Uck.

I got another prenatal massage in hopes that it would help the headache too. They worked out my hips but I think it encouraged the girls to spread out and I even started having more contractions. Boo!
