Just back from the pedi, H has croup came out of nowhere last night at like 11:00, she was inconsolable and barking cough. She seemed fine today but sounded hoarse. They did a steroid treatment in office, hoping it doesn't make her crazy from it

Girls - cornish game hens were on sale at the grocery store this weekend so I bought a couple for dinner tonight. Last time i made them, I did like a rosemary-lemony kinda thing. What flavor should I do this time?

jt2378, oh no, poor H! Glad she got the steroid, and I hope she starts feeling better soon! Do you think your sore throat last week could have been the same virus? When C gave his croup to me, I had the worst sore throat of my life...strep did not compare to how bad it was. The steroids did make C a little crazy.

@adulruna, start a meal plan thread! I need new ideas. I've just been winging it the last few weeks and everyone is getting bored.

H is gone for 2 weeks. We're still finishing up the plumbing ridiculousness. Apparently we have a septic tank. This is news to us and to the landlord.

yeah I was on the fence about steroids only because i'm a worrywart as jut stated but she said it should help.

@adulruna, brussel sprouts are sofa king good! Roast them with salt, pepper and olive oil and then broil quickly to crisp them up! Hork is right to pigeon

jt2378 you definitely made a good choice with the steroids. C got 2 racemic epinephrine breathing treatments in the ER--they were great for his respiratory distress in the short term, but the steroid is longer-acting (the dose they give lasts about 4 days) and it's what kept us home and out of the ER/doctor's office until he was better.

So scary! I'm sorry C ended up in the ER, I hope H will be fine. She seems more than fine today, that is the weird thing but I am dreading tonite and anticipating the worst. I need to simmer down.
