Oooh that sounds good starbuck27!!! I can eat all of that! Do you sauté your kale like you would spinach? That's a green I always seem to pass over at the grocery store.

Yep! It's easy to make.
If it's a standalone side I sauté it with minced garlic, red pepper flakes, olive oil, and a splash of balsamic vinegar to help offset the bitterness. Deeeelish.
Fantastic! Thank you so much. Sounds like one of those things I make as a side dish for two, only to end up hoarding and eating myself.
Sorry you were up starbuck27. That was me Monday night, but luckily last night I slept straight through, as did DS (yessssssssss.) My MOTN snack is usually Raisin Bran, though, nothing so delicious/glamorous as what you made!
DH is in Arizona this week so I think we will have dinner with my mom again tonight (my dad is also out of town).
We missed DS's speech session on Monday so we have a make-up appt this morning. Otherwise, the day is fairly open.

Sounds amazing starbuck27! Is there a trick for making the kale tender? Mine always turns out tough.
NT scan this afternoon T&Ps appreciated. I'm relived it's finally here. Although I'm sure I'll just find something else to worry about as soon as it's over lol
I showed up too early for my deposition this morning so now I'm just sitting in my car waiting and thinking about how much I have to pee. 5 more minutes and I'll go in.
I woke up at 7:20. L woke up at 7:45 thanks to some birds screeching outside her window. But she does usually wake up between 7:30 and 8 so it's cool. Lately she's been making me read to her when we wake up. I bring her to my bed and she just goes "book?" And she goes off to her room for books. It's adorable. I'm so happy she seems to be a book lover already.
Breakfast here is pretty boring. English muffin, fruit, and breakfast essentials for me. L has a waffle, yogurt or milk, and fruit.
I don't like eggs unless they are scrambled. Never have. UO?
starbuck27 I would definitely hear them out. It doesn't hurt anyone to have a conversation.
So I just had an egg salad sandwich for lunch and it was so good. Now I'm just dreading making dinner. I hate cooking and love the nights where I have leftovers or my h cooks. Tonight is not one of those nights.
So I missed the convo yesterday, but wanted to join in on the excitement of feeling flutters! This pregnancy feels much more real with flutters going on!
And starbuck, I agree with others, I would definitely talk to the recruiter--you just never know. My dad owns a recruiting/executive search firm so maybe I'm biased, but if it's an organization or position that interests you, I'd hear him/her out. It may turn out to not be a fit right now, but something you keep in your back pocket to pursue down the road.
Re: kale, try massaging it. An acid does also help; one of my favorite raw kale salads uses a dressing whose base is tahini and lemon juice. I've also used straight up hummus to massage in and it works great.

I agree with all PP starbuck27. You never know what opportunities they'll have to offer you. Either way if it comes to that point, I hope it's clear cut enough that it's an easy decision. Were you the one thinking of maybe going part time once the twins are here? Or maybe going to looking into WFH part of the week? This may be a great opportunity to negotiate that. If I made that all up please just ignore me.

Everything looks good! I actually forgot to ask at first because the ultra sound tech told us what the sex was and my mind got scrambled for a bit! It's early at 13 weeks 4 days... But she told us it's a boy! I asked how certain she was and she said she wouldn't say out loud unless she was sure.
I am trying to figure out what to make for dinner. My mom is coming over and I still need to hit the grocery store. DS is taking a marathon (3 hour?!) nap. I really wanted chicken salad but I don't think I have time for that now. We may end up getting take-out.

Yay for everyone who had good scans today! Congrats - such a relief Have my monthly appointment tomorrow. I can consistently find the little nugget with my Doppler now so that is easing my anxiety some especially in these long stretches between appointments. I literally cannot wait until I can feel this LO move consistently. There's something about it that makes it so real. I never feel totally confident in my pregnancies until that milestone and it's getting so close!

I am really sure that at our scan (exact same timing as yours) the tech knew what we were having. She knew my husband was not there so I think opted to not tempt me, but my mom and I both left the room and said at the same time "she saw"! Lol, a week later we found out via 3d. So iwhile its early I think they know what to look for

So daycare is asking if we are ready to put a deposit on our slot for next March. I feel like there's a lot of variables between now and then to put a non-refundable whole month of daycare down. We can be on the waitlist but if we put a deposit they will "guarantee" a spot, otherwise we mostly likely would have a spot since siblings get priority.
If the teachers weren't great (and had another option) I'd be ditching this place. The administration sucks but they know there is a shortage of childcare here. Blah.

danib exactly. Well technically it will be the last months tuition someday, so we do get it back assuming we a) have a healthy baby, b) don't change living/work situations so we can go to that daycare.
We will probably pay it. I was a nervous wreck about getting a slot last time and spent prob $500 on all the waitlist i got on. It's about $75-100 per waitlist here...just to have to chance of maybe getting a spot.
have been pretty absent (again). This time of year is always my busiest, and then throw in the surgery and recovery, and I feel like I never get a chance to do anything not 100% necessary each day. I am leaving first thing tomorrow morning for a dance competition out of town, so the foreseeable future is not really a whole lot better.
I have a random question, though. Am I the only one who is super skeptical of sex determinations from ultrasounds before, say, 16 weeks? I just have done a lot of reading about it, I guess, and though techs think they are good, it really isn't as simple as that. My feelings about it are definitely reinforced by the fact that two people on my Jan14 BMB have had incorrect sex guesses at ANATOMY SCANS (not even NT scans) that were corrected shortly after -- I think both were at follow up anatomy scans a couple of weeks later. I don't know, I just wouldn't go painting the nursery yet, personally.
Full disclosure: I am super skeptical about everything that is not unequivocally scientific.

+2 with you @peantmuse and danib, at that point I thought it was still 'angle of the dangle' with that not even being close to 100% of the time. Maybe some of these practices have ridiculously good US machines that there's something else clueing them in? Last NT they were willing to give me a 70/30 and were right, but this one it wasn't a subject even on our minds.
I didn't even trust out anatomy scan with L. I kept the tags on all the pink until the day before she was born. We had a bpp with the mfm my ob works with and the tech checked for me and said that she was 100% girl.
This time, the tech said she could make a guess if we wanted. DH asked how accurate it would be and she said not very since external genitalia look very similar until closer to 16 weeks. So we decided we didn't even want her to try. Plus we are doing our reveal party in June so we wanted to wait anyway.

I also know someone who was told the wrong sex on AS and didn't find out until birth. So I am also a little wary of accuracy even later on. My midwife practice recommends AS at 22 weeks partly for this and mostly because it give the radiologist the best shot of accurately identifying any issues on the first scan.
