A has been coughing non stop since I put him to bed. He has finally waken up crying exhausted of not being able to sleep.
I already gave him Tylenol. What else can I do?
I know my FTM is showing big time, but how can he be sick again when he was sick last week???
Not sure if you want to try it since he's standing in his crib, but you could elevate one end of the mattress to give him a very slight incline. Also, humidifier and saline.
And unfortunately, Z has gotten colds back to back and it sucks. Could also be just a lingering cough from last weeks cold.
emejay hugs. Sick babies are so hard. And sad. My big was sick a bunch at this age and it is so frustrating. Zarbees makes a cough syrup for infants my ped recommended. They have a non honey one specifically for babies. You could also do steam and then let him breathe air from the freezer. The combo will soothe his breathing a bit. Maybe enough to let him get to sleep. Poor dude.
Definitely do the steam. We have taken to bringing Z in to the shower with us. It definitely helped.

I stared the humidifier in his room before his nap this afternoon and he didn't cough at all and took an epic nap.
But even with it now, he's back to being a coughing monster on top of teething and the whole standing up in the crib, this week is just marvelous.
Thanks caitost21. I'm trying not to be a worry wort. Parenting is hard. She didn't have much discomfort when the teeth came through the gums so now I'm paranoid it could be a bug or something. She already had her first wake up for the night after a whopping 25 minutes of sleep. She screamed at me until I convinced her to nurse. Hopefully the night will smooth out!

Today was rough.
I think we're finally teething for realz, and Layla must have hit her head on something because suddenly she had a black eye this morning. She also had diarrhea, and I found her back COVERED in eczema. She fought her naps since obviously she is not feeling so great so she took her naps on me, which she hasn't done since she was about 2 months old. The sleepy cuddles were so wonderful, but as a result I didn't get a chance to eat today.
MH came home and I handed him the baby and went and had a glorious shower, and then went grocery shopping and bought cake.
And now I want to eat the cake but he's working out and I would feel really bad eating cake alone while he works out. But cake.
caitost21 well congratulate yourself go making it this long without an injury!
mamasue waiting on the Tarmac makes me anxious even without a baby. Hope it ended up okay. emejay I felt like when F got sick he got sick 3 different times consecutively. Hope A is able to settle soon.
andtheheartbreakers what do you think the diarrhea and eczema is from? How sad. Sending good thoughts Layla's way!!
Thanks for the love everyone. It looks like our insurance company won't raise our rates but may have to pay $500 and a mark on our title. Ugh.

Go for the cake. I'm there with you in spirit and that totally counts.
There are new guidelines recommending that babies be in convertibles by their first birthday for head stability. I was going to say that we are a ways off from that, but then I remembered that isn't really true and our babies are losing their baby
I don't have time to find the info right now but I remember seeing that there wasn't much validity that study. I do know what you're talking about though
Well, then, that makes me feel better. We kept Ben in his infant seat in my husband's car till he was about 15 months, and we will most likely do the same for Allie, so I have less guilt
