Engaged May 2003 Married June 2005 TTC #1 since October 2014 H-1% morph, low motility, low count Me-.1 AMH levels, low AFC, DOR/POI, perimenopause Foster Care journey begins March 2016-licensed 11/7/16 Foster parents to A & J 1/31/17 www.fertilityfriend.com/home/5525ef
Me: 32, PCOS Him: 30, 4.5% morph, TTC: 10/11/12 After 5 failed Clomid cycles and 3 failed Femara cycles with HCG triggers, IVF #1 w/ICSI April 2015 resulted in a BFP! Our little Newt was born January 2016!
I was irrationally invested in finding out about this, since H and I have been arguing about whether to buy newborn sizes or not. He's convinced our baby will be a monster and won't fit them.

Everyone was convinced I was going to give birth to the biggest baby in the history of big babies (MH is 6'9" and I was pretty massive), but DS ended up being 7lbs 6oz. Newborn clothes were actually big on him at first, though that didn't last long.
Maybe buy some things from a consignment store, just to be on the safe side?

I'd limit the number of NB stuff you get in general, just because they fit into it for such a short time (couple to three weeks is the max I've heard of, assuming average-sized baby).
You can stock up on some of the bigger sizes and always pick up some newborn stuff if you need it after she's born. :) Guests are good for running errands.
Thanks Ladies. At this point, I can at least make the point that if the smallest sizes fit a larger baby then none of the 3-6mo stuff I've bought will go to waste.

I'd also limit how much seasonal bigger stuff you get. I had people buy my November baby tons of long sleeve pants outfits in 12 months size. My chunk was in 12 months at 8 months old in the middle of the summer heat.

Yah my kid was 8lb9oz and he only fit into newborn clothes for 2.5 weeks or so. He just got longer so fast, I couldn't reasonably button the onesies at the crotch easily. So definitely limit the NB clothes.
Clearly my kid is the exception to the rule then. She was in NB until about 6-7 weeks and is still rocking 3-6 month in everything but footie jammies, which she's finally getting too long for at 6 months. She's long and skinny. The leg holes on her 6m onesies could fit both her legs through one and still have room to spare. She has lots of summer clothes in the appropriate 9 month sizes that I think she'll end up much too small for and not wear unless we want her swimming in them. We keep having to go buy more of things in her current size because it's taking her forever to out grow them. She's following an appropriate curve though, so her pediatrician isn't concerned.

I'm late to this because I HAD to read every response. Congratulations @led I'm so glad I got to go along with you on this journey, even thought I've never "met" you. That squish is adorable!!
Good luck with the first postpartum poo Elly @led! I did not have a C/S either time but both pooping experiences were not bad so FX it goes well for you. I hope they've been giving you colace.

E was in newborn for 3 weeks tops. Now she wears 18 month at 10 months old. She's tall and has chubby thighs which is a lot of it.
I'm sorry you are in pain, @led. I hope you are feeling better and have pooped.
