We are currently remodeling the kids bathroom. We need to order a vanity tonight but I'm not sure which color cabinet ets to get. The tile is all white with a blue/green/gray accent. The walls are a blue (similar to the tile). The floor will be a white marble basket weave tile with a small gray tile in there (I wish I had taken a picture of that). Originally I was thinking a gray vanity, but I'm worried it might "blend in" too much. Should I go with a dark cabinet? Thoughts?
Here are some pics I took this morning quickly. Sorry, they aren't great: this is the tile around the tub and the wall color (which the pic doesn't look like the color at all...whom whomp. It's a darker blue).

I'm not a professional but I've been watching a lot of design shows lately... I think I would go with the darker vanity based on the pictures. Or do you have an option for a very dark gray?
Wait for the experts but that's my very unprofessional opinion.
That is very similar to our bathroom we did. We had larger white tile with green and blue glass accents and white marble floor. We went with a darker wood cabinet with a black top. We couldn't find a white top for the vanity that was as white as the tile and they all just looked dirty. I didn't think I would like the black top but I really did. Our walls were white though so it really was a nice contrast. I can t take a picture because we moved but I would go darker.

I like the idea of a dark cabinet. BUT what color woodwork do you have going on in the rest of the house. I'm one for consistency too. I dislike seeing an oddball thing that doesn't fit with anything else in the house per se.

All of the trim and door are white. Our master bath has a dark cabinet (expresso type color).
The last few days I've been really leaning toward a dark cabinet, but I guess I needed validation it wasn't stupid.

Then I'd go with another espresso cabinet myself. I think you have a precedent now. It would make a nice contrast with what you have going on with all the light colors of the tiles. I don't think the grey would look bad either, if you should decide you prefer that. I just think that come time to sell, the idea of consistency is big to me as a homebuyer.
Sorry, I saw this as I was walking out the door this morning and was going to come back to it when I got to work... clearly I failed.
Anyway, I completely agree that if you have the white trim going on and all of the light in the rest of the space, the espresso color for the cabinet will look beautiful!
