How long does it take everyone's kiddos to fall asleep at night? DD used to fall asleep in like 15 minutes of putting her in her crib but the last two weeks or so it's taking forever before she quiets down. Like up to an hour-hour and a half. She just hangs out in her crib with her stuffed animals. Am I putting her down too early? Or do your LO's take a long time to fall asleep, too? I feel bad knowing she's just chilling in her crib by herself wide awake for that long.

honeybee434, what time are you putting her down, when does she wake up, and when does she nap?
DD is out anywhere between 5 and 20 min (there's also obligatory screaming for about 30 secs). DS can take up to an hour, but like your DD, he'll just hang out in his bed with his stuff. We let him be. He's quiet and content and winding himself down. I've read somewhere that that time is actually good for kids because they use it to "review" they're day and new skills help get "set."

She goes down between 8 and 9, and wakes up between 7-8. She usually takes a 2 hour nap in the afternoon, unless she's extra tired and naps a little longer than that.
Usually between 5 and 10 mins. Sometimes a little longer. If it takes longer he usually just plays with his stuffed animal or blanket. Every now and then he'll cry for us and we have to go back in.
He is really quick to fall asleep for naps 5-10 minutes. For bed time it's usually longer, more like 20 minutes. He also loves bringing random stuff into bed. Last night he slept with an empty water sprayer. I bought some for the boys to play with outside and he loves it. So much that he brought it to bed.

I'm jealous of your fast sleepers! I wonder if teeth coming in are the culprits for the change. I tried Tylenol one night in case and it didn't do much, so maybe it's just going to be like this for awhile until they're done.
Most days <15 minutes. Last night, she went to sleep and then woke up an hour later, just playing happily and taking her sleep sack off. I went in, changed her diaper (it was pretty wet) and reset her, and she went right down.
I think the nights/phases where it takes longer to go down correspond with new skills or developmental leaps (or so I tell m yself to make me feel better)
Usually under 20 minutes but we've been going through a phase. Last night it took him 1hr 30mins to go to sleep. He was happily playing and kicking the rails. I don't see a problem with leaving them unless they are in distress.
It depends. Some nights 5, some nights 20. Some nights he goes right in, other nights he needs another minute of rocking before he'll stay in. It's a crapshoot what each night will be like!
I LOL @ myself when I thought DS1 was a shitty sleeper. To be fair, he was worse as a young infant, but by a year he was consistent with going right in to sleep and STTN. This one...is not.
Ha! We still nurse to sleep. It's gonna be a cluster when I wean her.
Mine still takes a bottle of milk at nap and bedtime. He doesn't fall asleep with it but he won't go to bed without it. I've been trying to emphasize during the day when I give him his sippy how BIG BOYS drink milk out of cups and only babies drink out of bottles but he just gives me an F-you mom look.
Hoping we can ditch it within the next month but if not then when he turns 2 at the end of July it's cold turkey time.

This makes me feel better. I don't know why it makes me feel guilty when she is obviously okay in there by herself with her animals. I mean, if she was yelling mom or dad that would be different, but she isn't. This has to be a FTM thing for me?
