I buy whatever I can find cheapest which is usually huggies snug and dry. But MIL has cruisers, I've tried Kroger and Target brands, and Pampers. They've all been fine.
I would buy the biggest size that includes her weight. And if she's close to sizing out (by weight) size up. The weight ranges are ludicrous I think.
We do a mix of cloth and disposable. M is about 20 pounds but short. We just sized up to 4 and the blowouts have stopped. We use up&up and pampers baby dry at night. I'd say if E is 18+ pounds go with size 4. For both girls, Swaddlers and regular diapers would never hold overnight at this age, so keep that in mind for a longer car ride and overnights.

We use Huggies Snugglers or Pampers Swaddlers and he's currently in size 3 (9 month clothes probably around 17 lbs?). We have not liked other brands. We do have Cruisers and Overnights but he's not mobile and doesn't STTN yet (or leak through the night), so we haven't bothered. Make sure you check out coupons.com or the pampers or Huggies websites for coupons. Usually $1.50-$2 off a package, so worth it. Target is my favorite place to buy since there's usually a Cartwheel offer and/or a gift card offer as well. Sometimes Amazon runs a great deal and I stock up then too.

What's the solution for overnights in a disposable? Is there a different kind you use for over night?
I've heard great things about huggies overnights.
We still use pampers swaddlers and have rare leaks. I think the leaks mostly happen since he's a boy and a tummy sleeper though.
He just started crawling, but I think we'll probably sick with the swaddlers.
We were using Pampers Saddlers since birth but when we moved to size 4, they started to smell strongly like pee all the time.
We switched to Huggies Little movers and it's much better. Never had a leak or a blow out (YET!!!)
We had the same issue with the Swaddlers! I thought I was just imagining it. I assumed that once she started solids it made her pee smell stronger, and the swaddlers just couldn't contain it. Dani currently wears size 3 Pampers Cruisers, without any issues.

Like many people here we go with Luvs. They're cheap and H prefers them. We do a change MOTN because H feels bad that he's in a wet diaper all night but I will say that they hold fluids well. We've never had a leak other than a MOTN peeing up and out situation (C is a tummy sleeper too).
We use Target brand. Now that she eats solids 3x/day we don't have up the back blowouts. They seem to do the trick just fine and are super cheap compared to other brands. If money didn't matter I would probably just use pampers. They are so soft almost like cloths.

We have used both Pampers Swaddlers and Huggies and I've found that I like Pampers more just based on how they fit but either one does the job for lasting overnight.
We use target brand and dos for DS too. I think they are the best. I didn't care for huggies and pampers were expensive. DS has super sensitive skin and target brand were the only ones that helped with diaper rash.
