It was such a sad episode. They're really doing a number on the direwolves this season. It's just Ghost and Nymeria left and who knows if we'll ever see her.
Oh Hodor!! That was awful. I know that that needed to happen so they could get away but was anyone else pissed that Bran was still in his head when this was happening?

I can't read the posts here becuase I'm not caught up. I'll alway be a week behind. Turns out, I just cannot stay up until 10:00 watching the new epis. I get distracted by my phone, or am just too tired to pay attention. So our new routine is, on Sunday evenings, we watch last week's epi while eating dinner. This give DH an opportunity to watch it a second time, and we can discuss things as they happen (which he'd NEVER allow during the a first viewing).
Then he hangs around to watch the new episode, and I got up to bed to do things that don't involve thinking / processing / paying attention. Like, reading Us Weekly, or going to be early.

You are so patient to wait a week! I could never do that. The season after we had LO, We were exhausted and couldn't watch it live. Id watch it the next morning since I was on my leave and then watch it again that night with H

poor poor Hodor/Willis!
We wondered this too and figured there are two dire wolves left, Arya's who she sent away, and Ghost. I can't handle hearing another one cry out in pain though, for me it was worse than Hodor.

+1
Do you have a dog? I suspect this is why it makes me so sad. I actually turned to DH and said "F you, GOT" when that happened.
I forgot ghost was still around. Weird they didn't show him leaving the Wall with Snow.
I am tired of Ramsey Bolton. He's so one dimensional now. Like, yes, we get he's horrible, ok, can we move on to something else?

Agreed. Ramsey sucks. His scenes add so little to the entire story. Like, we know he's horrible. I don't need to see him raping Sansa or feeding his baby brother and stepmom to his dogs to know that. I'm all for gore and violence but his crap is getting old.
I've also found I'm much less tolerant of violence in tv/movies since having DS. Like, sometimes I make my hub screen things for me, or I just leave the room when something awful happens. It's weird but I just can't stomach it anymore...

For me, it's not necessarily violence, but anything having to do with kids/ child abuse. The scene with Walda and the baby gutted me.

yeah I left the room bc it was obvious it was going to be something awful. Hid in the bathroom until DH gave the all clear. I'm such a doofus, lol.

I was bawling about Hodor last night. I haven't cried that hard about a fictional character in years, and I'm a crier.
It was a combination of horror at the fact that this was how it all happened, that it was Bran's fault, that Hodor was going to die alone, and that he's basically been reliving his own death for 30+ years. GRRM really had that awfulness planned way in advance.

Yup, this is me 100%. I used to be able to tolerate any kind of gore, now a child in even the slightest of bad situations makes me a wreck.

+1 all of this. so sad, so unbelievably sad.
also incredible plot development. like that's been in the works forever. and also, how extremely loyal is Hodor, that he knew this was his end, that Bran was the cause of it all and that he STILL stuck around to carry the little lord around the whole of the north.

Yes, that too. And the fact that Hodor the way we've always known him is such an innocent, trusting character. He's almost like a dog: gives total devotion despite how people treat him. (And yes, Summer's death bothered me too but he had agency in that decision, Hodor didn't.)
And I couldn't help but imagine being his mother, seeing him go into convulsions and having no idea what was happening.
I am tired of Ramsey Bolton. He's so one dimensional now. Like, yes, we get he's horrible, ok, can we move on to something else?
Ramsay is so boring. He's just bad for the sake of being bad.
As much as I wanted Sansa to have Petyr executed last night, he's basically the only interesting villain we have left. Though after last night's episode I'm curious if we'll see more...motivations and machinations from the White Walkers than just being Bad Things.
I guess technically the Sand Snakes could be villains but I hate how the show has mangled that storyline.
And Euron is...not the Euron Crow's Eye I know from the books. But he could technically be a villain? Who knows.
silvermelody yep. Me too. So freaking heartbreaking.
And what about the second priestess saying Dany is the one who was promised? So maybe gives more weight to the theory that she and Jon are related.. Maybe twins a la Star Wars? Lol

There's a theory out there that Jon and Meera are Luke and Leia. That R+L=J+M.
Meera's dad was with Ned when he found Lyanna at the Tower of Joy.
Not sure I buy any of it, but hey it's fun to speculate!
" after a long summer, Azor Ahai will be reborn amidst smoke and salt wielding the flaming sword Lightbringer to defend the world from R'hllor's nemesis, the Other"
I have always thought Dany to be a more likely candidate to be Azor Ahai reborn. She was born amid salt and smoke (Dragonstone is a volcanic island) in the midst of a storm. Or you can assume that the smoke part was one of her rebirths, either on Drogo's pyre or the more recent one.
And I think dragons could be flaming swords, in a way.
I see very little evidence that Jon is the Prince who was Promised.
The Other is pretty clearly the White Walkers, imo. The series is the Song of Ice and Fire after all.
If they ever freaking show us what happened to Lyanna
{Click here to see more.} and confirm who Jon's parents are, then we'll know if he's Dany's nephew or not. (The prevailing theory is that he is the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar, Dany's older brother)what happened to Lyanna and confirm who Jon's parents are, then we'll know if he's Dany's nephew or not. Ahhhh! I haven't read all the books- I keep trying too but I can't find the time but I'm addicted to the show. That's really cool, sounds incredibly likely!

Ok, I couldn't wait til next Sunday. That was... a very different episode. Sansa is growing little cajones. Jon Snow is hot. I love that Theyon (sp?) backed up his sissy.
But fucking time travel. That's some Hermione Granger time-turner shit. It's brilliant and infuriating all at the same time.
It's not Bran's "fault" Honor got jacked. Insofar as, had he woken up, Hodor still would've gotten it from the white walkers. And had Bran woken up, it wouldn't have necessarily stopped young Hodor from seizing.
I guess Young Hodor could see Bran back in the past. Then when he cam across him decades later, just knew he was important?
I don't know. I didn't read the books, and I'm a horrible watcher.
I know it's not all Bran's fault but I'm still blaming him for Hodor's death. Bran has a job to do but instead of learning what it is, he's too busy wanting to relive the past. Going back to the White Walkers in his own was just stupid.
Idk why but Hodor (& Summer's) deaths really hung on me
