jessiespano, you are not taking advantage. Family can be supportive without coddling. You are in a temporary situation with an actual end date, that's a different thing, in my mind.
The financial support of my brother bothers me. But it's the other support that's hurtful. The blatant preference of time, emotional support, etc. planning holidays around my brother and Glen's sister is so stressful. Their vacation time and social calendar trumps ours. Their kids trump ours.
Her head & length increased but her weight only went up 4oz. Her doctor was fine about the weight since everything else grew. Between distracted nursing & teething it wasn't a surprise she didn't gain much. He did bring up is she can get herself into a sitting position on her own, she can't. If by July she still isn't doing it we will have early intervention to push her along. He said there is plenty of time for her to do it so not to worry.
She got 2 shots and was pretty fussy the whole appointment since she was up so early.
Crap. Benny can't get into a sitting position on his own...I feel like he's not even close!

Z was like this. Until all of the sudden he could. It seriously happened overnight. He was 8.5mths since he's one of the early birthdays. Don't give up hope that it will happen soon.
eliza040502 , $9 isn't a discount worth mentioning on something like an international flight!
emejay , Ugh, poor A. I hope that damn cough clears up. Re the job, apply!
estakis , I've been wishing for a baby instruction manual since day one. No matter how comfortable I think I am, there is always something that leaves me wondering wtf to do or is what I am doing right.
obie1680 , Hell no to bats in your house! I'm not sure I would have been able to stay inside until they were gone.
andtheheartbreakers , Definitely not to having to buy a gift. The shower is absolutely the gift.
Afm, this weekend was hectic with M starting to, I believe, teeth again. She was so fussy and clingy it made getting anything done almost impossible. I was able to get some stuff done by putting her in the Ergo, facing outward with her arm over the shoulder straps, is this safe? She seemed very secure and didn't feel as though she would tip out when I bent over.
MW has been in OR since last Thursday and has fallen in love. We are talking about changing gears on our move and heading NW instead of Houston as previously planned. I am going to research the area more and see what opportunities are available. Anyone live out there and have any recommendations of cities to look at?
We love the PNW. Where in OR? I mean, we love Portland but that's a big city. It depends on what you're looking for. What about it does YW love? (We are near Boise, FYI).

Dani isn't close to sitting on her own, crawling/scooting of any kind, or pulling up to standing. She is almost 8.5 months.

eh. Asher can't either. I dunno...maybe I'll worry about it in a bit, but I just kinda think everyone at their own speed. While Asher is a really cute potted plant who needs to have someone put him into sitting position, he's VERY VERY verbal and way ahead on eating solid foods (despite his whopping 0 teeth). I think they'll all figure it out in due time.

Thanks guys... every once in a while I freak out at how far ahead some babies are on gross motor skills. I forget at what age Sammy did these things. He was a late crawler and I never worried about it then.

Ya her doctor didn't say it in an alarming way. DS was pretty much the same as Val. then he was super mobile around 10 months pulling himself up all the time. He just wanted her to be able to sit herself by 1 year of age.
That is definitely shady. It is amazing what some renters do the homes they are renting. I hope when you get there you are reassured that everything is fine and the house is just messy from their attempts to pack. If not, would you like me to meet you over there and we can take em out? I kid I kid.
This is why I love you.
But for real- when are we going to meet?
Soon! I hope! When you're settled and ready just let me know.

She is visiting Clackamas and has ventured to Lake Oswego and Astoria. A few other places but I can't remember exactly where. Portland is nice, but we want to be on the outskirts without being too rural. Lush greenery and fishing are at the top of MW's wish list. She is applying for jobs in Portland, and if she were to land one there we would also look at Vancouver WA. I've heard Boise is gorgeous.
Florida grass is gross, I don't see Raf enjoying it although we haven't really tried.
I remember we moved to Michigan in May, we drove up 15 hours straight and literally 10 minutes before reaching our destination we had to pull over and run around without shoes because the grass looked so amazing. It did not disappoint, it was like soft carpet.
Heard back from our sales agent in response to my last email where I told her how disappointed we were with her misinformation. Her response? "I'm sorry that you blame me."
That's NOT an apology! I have your lies in writing. You're damn right I'm blaming you.
I'm not even responding. She is too stupid to get through to.
sdfonz619 I was born and lived half my life in Oregon. And my entire family (mom and dad sides) live throughout. So PM on Facebook if you want anymore info FWIW, I think you and YW would love Portland, but some other notables could be Eugene or Corvallis (my hometown). The lush green space is everywhere, but small Oregon towns are definitely sheltered and closed off from a lot of the "outside world" lol...some of my relatives need to take a weekend in Portland etc.
I have never seen my kid eat more gracefully than right now. She is refusing to drop a single piece of her macaroni and feta cheese. Not that I blame her.

Ugh since it was warm today, our house is now really warm. We don't have central air and haven't installed our window units yet. I put Z in just a onesie under his A&A sleep sack. And we opened the window in his room and have the ceiling fan going. But of course since it's warm I worry more about SIDS. It's about 75/76 in his room and I remember 72 being the upper safe limit. Hopefully now that the sun is going down it will cool down.

Think of all the babies around the equator who never sleep in bedrooms lower than 72.
mrsb1008 - DH and I were just talking about this. We have central air but our house is a funky layout and never seems to heat/cool evenly. It was barely 70 degrees outside today and C's monitor says the room is 82. Granted that's on the video monitor that's mounted up higher on the wall. We have a room thermometer we use too and it never seems to dip below 75 in her room. We do our best to dress her lightly, but then later overnight the temp drops and I worry about her being too cold. I'm curious to see how this summer goes when the weather really heats up.

Our upstairs is always hot, even with central air. Dani's room is, on average, 75-76 if that makes you feel any better. Our thermostats are set at 74 because keeping a house below 70 in Houston heat is like burning money. We've adapted to our environment at this point, and 74 is nice and cool/comfy (it's also nearly 90 outside, so...).
Thanks ladies! Your comments make me feel so much better. I'm hoping the room will cool down a bit. I might see about some of the one piece short pjs I saw at children's place. But really a onesie should be ok especially since he has on a light weight sleep sack. As it cools down tonight we'll keep an eye on it if we need to close the window.
Z takes after H in that he runs warm and overheats easily.
