I ended my night by ordering thousands of dollars worth of appliances from Sears, so that fucking sucked.
We needed to replace our double wall oven (it's white, and works just fine) with a stainless one to match all of the other appliances we upgraded. I protested, because those things are not cheap, but it was on the realtor's "mandatory" list for listing our house. I've been watching sale prices, and now was the time to buy it.
Of course, our damn dryer breaks at the exact same time, so I bought a new washer/dryer combo along with the oven. It was also on sale, and we're taking it with us to the new house, but I hate spending money like that. DH is the careless spender in our relationship, not me. BUT I got points, I won't pay interest, and I got 6% cash back from Ebates, which will actually cover the cost of the oven installation. That makes it okay, right?
Also, DH and I were giving Dani her bath tonight and she was just laughing nonstop at him making faces at her. When we took her out of the tub he said, "I never thought I'd enjoy having a baby this much."
Now, my DH is not the serious/sentimental type at all. It was just such a randomly sweet thing for him to say. It made my heart swell. Dani is 100% a daddy's girl, and he is just smitten with her.
Maybe this was addressed already in the teething thread… I called the doctors office and they told us we could use Motrin every six hours around the clock as needed. I don't want to medicate C unnecessarily, but I'm struggling a bit with figuring out when she needs Motrin and when she doesn't. DH seems to always want to give it to her. His reasoning is that she's always shoving her hands in her mouth during the MOTN wake ups. But, lately, it seems like her hands are always in her mouth regardless. So, I'm not always equating that with pain. Plus, if we were to give her Motrin daily for teething pain it seems like we could potentially be giving her Motrin daily for weeks, even months. Thoughts?

I gave DS1 Tylenol before bed every time we thought he might be teething. He was probably over medicated but seems fine now. We almost never medicated during the day though.

I rarely give Motrin/Tylenol during the day. If she's super fussy all day & I suspect teeth or other discomfort then I give Motrin at night. But I don't think hands in mouth is an indication of pain.

I only give it if the hands in mouth are accompanied by excess fussiness/crying. And sometimes if I'm in doubt I'll wait and not give it at bedtime, but if he wakes more than normal I'll give it then.

And you can sell the working white oven?
I looked into it, and unfortunately I couldn't sell it for any amount worth the trouble. It is a 10 year old oven, and out of style, but it works great! It just isn't worth anything in terms of actual money.

You might be surprised if you put it on Craigslist ! I once sold an old shower curtain. I'm Kijiji-o-lique
I have a request for tomorrow. Can you guys resurect the baby wearing thread and show me proper ring sling carries with your 8 month olds. My DD keeps straight legging and busting out. I'd like to see some carries with the same age. TIA.
Bat update: It survived the day on the patio by staying in the shade. It is now somehow attached to our window screen. I can only assume that mama bat came and got it, and then placed it there.
Unfortunately, we can now hear a tiny little squeak inside of our chimney, and there are multiple pissed off bats circling outside. Our flue is closed, so nothing can get into the house, but there is clearly another baby in there. It would drop right into our fireplace if we opened the flue. Based on asshole patio bat, they can't fly, so it would just drop into something if we put it below the flue opening, and then we could put it outside... but also, it's a bat.

But if you do nothing it will die and rot in there! I guess that's the bonus to moving soon?

mrsb1008, DH, Jacob, and I all run hot and our upstairs is much warmer than our downstairs, we use window units in the summer. Is this an option for you? We're putting ours in tomorrow since the temps are going up in the next few weeks.

Yup he actually has one already, but it's really old and was there when we moved in 3 years ago, so I want to get a new one so it doesn't blow crap into his room (I worry about black mold since it's installed year round). We'll use it until we get a new one though. Hopefully we'll get a new one installed soon-need to have my dad come help H pull the old one out since it looks really heavy.
eliza040502, That's a good idea for the time being until we get a new window AC unit (I'm just nervous for the old one since we don't know how long it's been installed; at least 3 years). I think we might have a window fan we could put in there for now.

sdfonz619 my best friend grew up in Bend, it's supposed to be the new hot town in Oregon but it's still small. It's neighbor, Prineville, is to be avoided. My aunt used to live in Astoria and loved it, now she lives in Roseburg and isn't thrilled. She still owns a yurt in Astoria, you know, if you're in to that sort of thing And I have friends and cousins who've loved Ashland. Also heard great things about Eugene, the big plus that it's a college town.

Yurt!!! Lol. Is this a long-term residence? Or just a "weekend getaway" type of thing?
Long term residence. She and her husband lived there for years. Composting toilet and all.
