emilie, requiressnacks, my mom will start asking when we are moving to the suburbs so we have a "real house" (basically so she can have her own room and come stay for large amounts of time). Sorry Mom but the answer is never.
Our family knows and we're getting a little of this. We live in a one bedroom condo in the city and have no plans to move. I assume we can make it work for awhile, but some of our family acts like this is a naive crazy idea.

babycowbell, we lived in a one bedroom with DS until he was 10 months old. We probably could have made it work for longer but our lease was up so we moved to a 2BR. We shared a room for the first five months (we would move him to the hallway for some of the night so I could sleep) and then eventually moved our bed to the living room and gave him the bedroom. He was a noisy sleeper! Totally do-able.

@kc295905 , we're actually in a three bed now but we plan on keeping Baby 2 in our bedroom in a mini-crib for six months, transfer Baby 2 to the guest room/office until he or she is two years old and then have the kids share a room after that (they will then be 6 and 2 and can safely have a bunk bed). Even with the extra room it is so nice to have a guest room/office. I guess that could change if Baby 2 is a girl once the kids get older.
I have a lot of friends whose kids share a room even from a very young age and they swear Kid 1 just gets used to sharing the room and Kid 2 doesn't know any better!
