Hi, love! Im so glad V is doing so well. I think of yall often. How are YOU doing?
I'm doing pretty good. Physically I'm feeling much better, definitely feel like I've recovered well. Emotionally I've had my moments. Last week was a little rough, Vivi's primary nurse went away on vacation, they switched the nasal cannula and then switched her to a nursery where the nurses didn't know her as well and didn't realize how prone she is to cluster desats. I also had my 6 week postpartum exam during all that, and my high risk OB came in from the hospital to do the appointment. He said with the combination of the pre-e and the APS, my risk of developing pre-e in a subsequent pregnancy would be around 70%, and it would likely happen earlier than this time. He said I would need to wait 2 years for recovery anyway, but to make an appointment at the time if we are thinking about trying again. If there are no new treatments or developments for pre-e at that time, he highly recommends not trying again. My own research had kind of pointed to that, but hearing it just kind of sucked. I always hoped for at least two, being an only child myself, but we'll see.
I also apparently need a foghorn in my bedroom. I set the alarm to pump in the middle of the night, and I turn it off in my sleep!
Wow. That is a lot. I got nothing but hugs for you love. We will prolly be one and done as well due to cholestasis, so I can commiscerate. I almost always slept through my MOTN pumping sessions. I did eventually wake up, but it took a while.
I hope your first week back at work went well. I also returned to work with DD in the NICU to save my FMLA time. It sucked, but my boss was pretty flexible & I was happy to stay home when she was finally released.
I'm sorry about the news you got from your doctor. I also wanted 2 kids, but decided to be OAD after my pre-e/DD's prematurity.
