We did library time today and the kiddos didn't freak out. Got asked if we were doing the kindergarten prep class - no, my kid isn't quite two.
They both had awesome naps and I got one too. I had a major headache but a half-sweet cinnamon dolce frap is fixing that. We're having pork tenderloin with caprese salad for dinner. Yum!
ETA: Nope, nope, we're not. I asked MH to babysit my balsamic reduction while I fed DD and he ignored it and it burned. Eff.
Finally done with work it's only 10:30pm Horse show at home tomorrow so 5:00am wake up call it is. No complaints though it will be a good day. It was finally super warm here today and baby girl spent her whole day in just her diaper. She was maxin and relaxin. She was super cranky though :/ I think she is like me...Too hot to sleep. On the plus she has chugged down milk from her Sippy cup three nights in a row, and then passed out. As soon as she saw her cup she was all about it.
We have ants right now too. So annoying, yet so predictable this time of year...
So annoying. How do you get rid of them? We have some of the stuff you spray on the baseboards but I'm a little nervous to spray it with the LO moving around. Fortunately he's not on the kitchen floor too much...
I don't like to use pesticides unless it's something major or destructive, so I just try to keep all the crumbs of food swept and wiped up at all times. When it's really hot and dry I try to keep the sink area dried off as well because they will come in for water. Spraying them with a regular all purpose cleaner helps to get rid of them and breaks up their chemical scent trails they leave for other ants to follow, too. You can also make a natural pesticide spray using borax.
When I lived in Los Angeles they would get really bad and we would have to keep all food garbage in the freezer until we could take it outside. I would also have to move my cat's food to new locations frequently. Luckily it's not nearly that bad here in Portland.
Honestly I just do my best, but just have come to terms with the fact there there will be a few ants wandering in from time to time. Unless you seal up all the cracks and crevices they are using to get in your house they will come back no matter what you do.
Sorry for the novel. Clearly I have a lot of feels about ants. Ha.

So I'm on day 2 of a 30 day yoga challenge, and the stretching and exercise has been great. My back has been killing me from carrying a 17 1/2 lb baby in a Tula all the time while wrangling a toddler at the same time. I already feel like it's helping with that.
However, doing yoga with a 2 year old hanging out is basically the opposite of relaxing. I was hoping she'd get into it and try to do some moves, but instead she jumps on my back and crushes me while I'm in cobra pose and uses me as a tunnel while I'm in downward dog. She also spent the entire meditative time yelling MOMMMMYYYYYY MOMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYY MOMMMMYYY! No no NOO!! PEPPA PIG! GEORGE! MOMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Anyway. It's been nice to move my body and do something for me again. I hope I get back into the groove of it soon, though, because I'm so freaking tired from it. I think I had a little bit of spare energy, but maybe not quite that much. It's not even 8 here and I'm ready to go to bed.

I read but I'm exhausted. As far as the pain goes, I did good today. I didn't call the doctor...yet. I had 3 bad episodes last night but none since about 3am. Just a little sore. I know this if flameworthy/stupid but I felt so bad being my first day back at work that I just wanted to see how they day went. I did give my boss a heads up in case. If I have any other pain episodes though I am going straight to the ER despite how much that scares me.
DD did A M A Z I N G today. On that note so did H. Even though I was at home I stayed out of their way all day and just left my office to store the milk I pumped and make lunch. She never got so upset about anything that she was inconsolable. She drank from the bottle enough to keep her satisfied but didn't eat nearly as much as I pumped. And all her naps were on Dad. NBD. I think H was pretty proud/happy and I felt great knowing that she can make it through the day without me and not lose her mind.

NellieOleson, do the girls ever nap at the same time where you could do your yoga then? Either way - go you for getting moving! I can never stick with anything for long, especially now.

Dd1 doesn't nap anymore, so nope. It's a straight up, all day toddler party in my world!
We'll see how long I make it. I'll keep you posted.
Glad you are feeling okay now. Call the doctor tomorrow if it comes back!

Yikes! Have you thought about introducing a quiet time? Even when mine are done with naps they have alone time in their rooms every afternoon so I keep my sanity. I think it's good for them, too. Dd1 definitely needs it.

I've tried it a few times, but she just freaked out and screamed and cried the entire time. She didn't get it and acted like she was being punished or something. I think it's especially hard since she knows I'm with dd2 as well, so I think it comes across as social shunning to her? I don't know. It was not pleasant.
We are usually pretty busy in the afternoons anyway, so we get home then she gets cozy on the couch watching Peppa Pig while I get dinner ready. That's her quiet time for now.

ETA/ I'm thinking once dd2 takes longer naps, especially in the afternoon, I will try again.

Yeah, when DD1 dropped her nap DD2 was already on a consistent schedule with a solid early afternoon nap, so I just told DD1 she didn't have to sleep but she needed to stay in her room and play for "quiet time" while DD2 slept. It worked out well. And when DD2 dropped her nap, quiet time with DD1 was already well established, so she just thought it was normal.

Ommmmggggg. Coincidentally, Dd1 randomly took a nap today because she fell asleep in the car after lunch and stayed asleep after I brought her in the house. It's now 8:45 and she's still wide awake in her bedroom. She is never napping again! Ha.
But seriously. I can't have a kid up this late. It's killing me! I need a little time to myself before my own bedtime. :/
