I'm staring at my computer trying to find motivation to work. Ds has no school this week so I had to get up before he wakes to get some stuff done but it's looking like I may need another day of vacation. Once he is up I'm not going to fight trying to work and entertaining him at the same time. I think we're just going to go have fun this week since its probably the last time for a little while. As long as contractions don't start or my water doesn't break in the next few hours it is looking like I'll have a June baby

I can't believe tomorrow is the first day of June! I'm not due for a while yet, but I'm so used to saying "at the end of June" when people ask when I'm due. I guess now I need to switch to saying how many weeks!
I was hoping I'd have a Memorial Day baby! I also thought I'd have an outside baby by now! I'm going to live today like its my last baby free day...getting all of the baby apparatus in place, laundry done, lawn mowed, etc, in hopes that baby will decide to come. Bring on the contractions!!

I was thinking about this last night. Now when people ask I can just say "Monday"....so crazy!!

I now get slight enjoyment telling people "x days ago" and seeing the shock and surprise on their faces.
Back to work today. I can't wait for this baby to come. I'm getting really excited, but I know I may have a few more weeks to go, so I don't want to get too excited yet. I've been searching online for mommy and me matching outfits. DH thinks that's ridiculous, but he doesn't know that I've also been looking for matching outfits for him and DS too!
We have our pedi appointment today. DD2 kept her weight up for the most part. Yesterday she was at 4lbs 11.5 oz. we are hoping no more loss today. DD1 is going to school because we didn't think we would be out of the hospital yet. I need a nap already.

Back to work... Even though our plans changed for the weekend, I had a really great three days with DD. We baked, watched movies, painted, went to the library, played outside... everything and nothing and she was AWESOME. No real fights, no real back talk... It was awesome, i'm so thankful we had these few days.
All of my work "to-do's" are done... I have until next Friday, so I'm going to do my best to come up with things to do to keep busy. This morning is lovely - my window is open, the breeze is blowing and I'm feeling great. It's gonna be a good day!
babyzebra please post the outfits. I find that completely adorable and I purchase matching outfits for ds and dh all the time. American apparel has a lot of men and kid matching shirts.
Hey guys! I've been popping in and out when I can during pumping sessions but wanted to give a quick update! C is still in the nicu and we've heard there's a very slight chance that he could go home today but I'm not getting my hopes up. He's doing great overall but is still having occasional oxygen desat incidents which is common for his age, so we're pretty much just waiting things out at this point. We've been able to stay at the hospital the whole time so I can nurse him at each feeding but we'll go home today regardless and just plan to spend the bulk of each day here and pump/supplement over night. We've been able to see DS1 every day but miss him so much and just can't wait til we're all at home!
I was looking for a Memorial Day baby yesterday too! Hope all of you who are incredibly uncomfortable find some relief and see your outside babies soon!!
soultrane glad to hear he is doing well overall and that you have been able to stay with him. Hopefully he gets released in the next day or two! Thinking of you! ❤️
It was such a wonderful weekend, it was hard to come back to work this morning!
I have a lot of loose ends from all my student meetings I need to tie up today. My desk is a disaster. I'm hoping to get that all done today so I can focus on typical end of school year stuff here.
Morning ladies. I'm still pregnant I'm not due until the 26th but since everyone keeps going early, I'm starting to panic a little. I need to get a lot done at work and my top performer is now in the hospital. I'm pretty sure it won't all get done, but I guess we'll make due. I just hope they can figure out what is wrong with her. Her body is attacking her red blood cells and they can't figure out why. I also had a new employee start last week so I'm spending a ton of time getting her up to speed and not getting the things done that I need to do.
I wish my parents were closer. I could use some help organizing. My husband is useless in that aspect.
I am trying to go with the mentality of control the things you can and let the rest go.
And while I'm incredibly thankful for being able to stay onsite this whole time, the sleep suite doesn't have a private bathroom so I've been taking care of all my postpartum care in a public bathroom. Every moms dream, right?? :-)

soultrane oh no for the public bathroom! My DH keeps suggesting that we go on outings away from the house for a few hours at a time and I have to remind him what an ordeal using the bathroom is... then he quickly apologizes. Anyway, thinking of your little C! I hope you can take him home today!!

Just painted my kids bathroom, I will probably pay for it later but whatever, I just want to get these projects done before baby. Missing DH a lot today and hoping he is liking his new job. I am excited to go pick up our first share from our CSA this afternoon!

soultrane, I'm glad you've been able to stay there with C but the lack of privacy and not being in my own space would be driving me nuts! I hope you're able to bring him home as soon as possible. Hang in there!
@broadwaymomma, I think we share the same due date and I feel the same, really thought I might have a baby here by now. DH and I both had yesterday as our guesses for this baby's arrival.
soultrane, hope you can bring your new little guy home soon!
It's my last day of work (from home).
DS has clearly been trying to work out some new baby emotions. All weekend he wanted to play a game where he was the baby dinosaur/turtle/bird hatching out of his his shell and DH and I were mommy and daddy dinosaur/turtle/bird, like over and over and over again. On one hand I'm glad he's found a way which seems to helping him deal with any feelings or insecurities he's having but it makes me so sad that he's having to deal with these kinds of feelings. His preschool teacher mentioned he's been a lot more emotional recently which is to be expected but still sad.

Hey ladies just trying to get caught up. I haven't been on since Friday and it feels like forever! Glad to see things are going generally well for those who have outside babies! I can commiserate with all those who are just super hugely uncomfortable.
We went to the lake this weekend. It was 90 on Saturday so what better place to be right? We went for a nice boat ride and did a little swimming which is amazing since its Memorial Day and the water is never warm enough this early. But we quickly learned that the lake house needs some serious work to be toddler proof! We ended up leaving first thing Sunday morning because we were absolutely exhausted from chasing DS and trying to make sure he did not seriously injure himself.
So this weekends plans have changed and we will be going back to the lake with the sole purpose is toddler proofing. We figure it will be easier to do now than when we have the toddler and a newborn to take care of.
Anyways, back to catching up on all the birth stories happenings over the weekend.
