@ajzmommy A very small town in New Hampshire.... We moved here from Michigan and actually the regular swaddlers were no problem but I've even had trouble finding the sensitive in mi as well and sometimes diapers.com is even out of the sensitive! Ugh
Oh I see. Sorry this happened. Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive was all I could use with DS1 so I know the struggle.
We used Pampers swaddlers and baby dry when we didn't CD. I have no experience with other brands because we never had any problems with them. We use Pampers pull ups now and love them.
I buy the purple Up and Up wipes. The light blue variety irritated his skin. I thought Pampers and 7th gen wipes were much too thin, and Huggies wipes are a PITA to unfold and are more prone to simply smear the poop around rather than clean.
Starbuck128 So did you do disposable wipes with CDs?
We started with Pampers Swaddlers for DD. We tried Huggies, but they gave her bad rashes, so we try to stay away from them. Now that she's older, we usually buy Luvs, but we buy store brand too if we are tight on money. Parents Choice are ok, but we try to stick with Livs because they don't leak as often.
The environmentally friendly ones all have similar flaws. Whatever chemical magic goes into the not environmentally friendly ones is what makes a diaper not leak..... Seventh generation and Babyganics work about as well as Honest. All 3 brands are ar Target so if you have the cartwheel app and follow their sales you can save some, but they are still expensive. My favorite for newborns are Pampers Swaddlers. I find newborns leak in most brands other than Huggies or Pampers so we use those for newborns most.
This is subjective and definitely depends on the kid. They may work similarly for you but not for the next person. I personally would not compare 7th Gen to Honest diapers... 7th's were pretty shitty (pun intended) for me.
I love Honest. I was seriously thinking about switching to cloth diapers because DS has eczema and had seriously awful diaper rash that I could not get rid of. After some awesome diaper cream from the doctor and Honest diapers, I was able to get rid of the rash, and not have any more problems (he is now 2 1/2, this happened at about 6 months old.) I order them online and they come to my door every month.

Ugh! No way. I made wipes out of old flannel sheets and wet them with a water, baby wash mixture. They were amazing, but I didn't want to deal with the laundry once we switched to disposables.

Thanks for your input, ladies! I thought SIL was crazy because her 5-month-old is wearing a size diaper that seems too big for her! But I figured she must know what she's doing..she does have 4 kids!

Pampers Swaddlers and then Cruisers. Now that DD is only in a night diaper, we buy Up&Up. I haven't used the Up&Up full-time for a newborn/younger infant yet.

DD is in Honest diapers. I love love love them. She's only leaked through one time (just pee) and it was because she was ready for the next size. I started using Honest when she was over a year and not going through as many diapers. I used cloth with her until 9 months, then pampers for the few months before we started Honest.
I used Huggies and seventh gen for DS for the odd time he wasn't in cloth. They both were fine but when I tried them with DD I hated them. They may have changed since DS wore them or it could have been because my kids are shaped very differently. I also tried Luvs and the Target brand. Luvs leaked and the Target brand gave her an awful rash.

I love hearing from everyone, and it really does seem like every baby is different. Though I've seen Pampers Swaddlers come up a lot, so I'm glad that was already on our list to try out.
Since many of you mentioned Honest Diapers, I'm curious where you buy them from. I know Target carries them - do you use coupons? Someone mentioned the Cartwheel app and signing up for the Honest Co's email list, but I'm just curious where the most cost-effective place to get them from would be.

I have a subscription with Honest Co and have the diapers shipped whenever I need them. I get 6 packages of diapers and 4 packages of wipes in each box.

I like pampers diapers partly because you can get some decent stuff with the pampers points. We had to switch to huggies for a while with my youngest dd because she was leaking. I missed getting my pampers points! We use Costco wipes.
Pretty much every brand makes DD's butt red. It's annoying, but it's probably because she is accustomed to cloth, unless we are camping. However, I like Pampers Swaddlers the best, and Earth's Best after that. The worst were 7th Gen, then Luv's.
Even though I CD, I use disposable wipes, and the only ones that I like are Pampers Sensitive.
