Dani eats a lot of purées, but we really have yet to find anything (puree or otherwise) that she won't eat. My only issue is that her gag reflex seems overly sensitive. If I give her table food, it has to be in the tiniest little pieces, even though she can bite and chew, otherwise she'll gag herself. If I give her something she can bite a piece off of, she'll stuff her whole mouth until she throws up. Normal? Something she'll grow out of?
I'm just now reading this thread. J is like this too. Until recently, he would get on tiny bits of food too. Just this past weekend he decided miniature size food is cool and he tried pancakes, tomatoes, cheese, shredded beef and pulled pork. But his gag reflex is super super strong. Has Dani gotten better?
R pretty much eats whatever we eat now, his favorites are watermelon, berries, and pancakes.I haven't found much he won't eat. I feel guilty because I made such awesome elaborate purees for A and with R I just didn't have time. I am a failing parent this week with the moving though... I'm pretty sure he ate about 15 white cheddar Cheeto puffs for lunch yesterday

She has!! She still hasn't mastered biting off small pieces of food from larger ones (other than mum mums), and will bite off huge chunks that gag her. If I give her small pieces of food now though, she is MUCH better. Last night she had bits of steak, cheese, and some beans, and didn't gag once.... Other than when I gave her a big piece to chew on and she somehow ripped a chunk off with her 4 little teeth.
Since M doesn't like bananas, I've started using sweet potato to make her little pancakes and she loves them! The recipe is one sweet potato + two eggs blended. I added nectarine and blueberries to a few of them as well and keep them on hand in the fridge. Next, I plan on making savory ones with zucchini and peas. This might be something good to try.
