carolinaheart it could just be from the check but even if it is the plug there shouldn't be any cause for alarm. Maybe it's a sign you'll start dilating and having some contractions.
Thanks!
I'm trying not to get my hopes up for anything but I'd love to hear some news on Monday. DNW to hear that nothing's happening still at 40+1.
I had a growth scan and BPP today as well as a regular appointment. All looks good. She's measuring at 6lbs 10oz which is a whole pound bigger than her sister was a birth. Taking it with a grain of salt though because they thought her sister was going to be a lot bigger than she was.
My doctor couldn't see me today because she was doing a C-section so I saw a different doctor. My doctor said that I can do weekly monitoring (because of GD) at the regular office. This doctor said BPP's at the MFM office. I was annoyed about this difference so I asked to have my doctor call me. She already did and explained that either was fine and it was my preference. I really like my doctor but this is why I hate the way this practice is run.
I did get my GBS test and a cervical check. Fingertip dilated and thick....so basically no signs of labor. I'm good with that. We aren't quite ready yet at home so it's going to be a busy weekend. I also am not ready at work either!
Oh wow, I am so behind and it's only 1:30!!! YAY for having babies today!!!
I am doing MUCH better today. My fever got up to 102 last night, but I am in a much better place today. The fever has gone down, my engorgement seems a bit better, and I am going to see a lactation consultant in an hour. DS is also coming home today!! I am nervous about her being around DD, but we're just going to be really careful.
I'm glad you're doing a lot better today txmommy14! I've been thinking about you and hoping that things were starting to turn around. I'm glad your DS is coming home today! I hope the LC can help you out!

So much good news! I hope you just keep getting better! Enjoy being home as a family of four
Dh came home early and I have the afternoon off so I'm currently getting a pedicure. I upgraded to a deluxe and I think it was a great decision. The massage chair just made me have a contraction and I may up the strength the lady doing my nails just made me want to cry. I'm sitting here about to give birth any day and she just told me how she's had two failed ivf attempts. My heart hurts for her and I feel guilty she has to give me a pedicure. She's going to Vietnam in November to do one last try. It's $6k there instead of $30k. Send her t&ps!

So many June babies today. Exciting!
I had a regular OB appointment today. Did not have my cervix checked.
While waiting to see the doctor I suddenly had a headache with dark vision on my left side. My blood pressure though higher than normal for me, was still well within the normal range they look for so the doctor was not concerned. She suggested I take Tylenol or have some caffeine. I was instructed to monitor and if things did not change I should give them a call.
My DH has sacrificed sleep all of this week to work ahead so he could be off most of today to finish up some much over due yard work. I called him before while I was in the parking lot to request he pick up some Starbucks for me as I did not want to drive too much out of the way with my affected vision. He of course did not have his phone as he was working outside. That prompted a meltdown on my part and I just burst into tears, very unlike me. I think the stress of this pregnancy has finally gotten to me. I came home and he could immediately see something was wrong with me but I was unable to speak to speak to him, which worried him more. I did assure him the baby was fine.
We are both exhausted and stressed as we do not have family close by and we are parenting a toddler. It does not help that I am 38 weeks pregnant feeling like I've been pregnant for a year. I have yet to explain to him that I am irrationally upset with him. We are just talking around my earlier upset.

Oh, Outofhiding that is so scary! I'm glad you were at the dr when it happened so they could check you! Hopefully it was just a wierd thing that won't happen again!
Whoa!! Busy day around here!! Can't wait to "meet" all these new little ones!
We had a great first night at home even though he upped his feeding schedule from every 3 hours to every 2 last night. I'm exhausted but I wouldn't have it any other way!! He had his pediatrician check-up and she said he looks great! We go back on Monday for a weight check to make sure he's gaining but she wasn't concerned since he's back over 6 lbs now.
Also, my sis was induced this morning so I have a brand new niece!!

((Hugs)) Outofhiding. I'm finding it so hard to be this pregnant and keep up with a toddler. We don't have any family nearby either so there's no break. I hope your headache gets better and your vision goes back to norma
How exciting to have cousins so close in age soultrane!
Okay, so here's a TMI question: I THINK I just lost my mucous plug. But, yesterday I was not even remotely dilated, like she couldn't even force it. Can you lose it a completely closed cervix? She made me bled a little, again.
Is it possible that this was just a really disgusting side effect of yesterday?
TMI answer: I kinda thought that I had started to lose mine -yellowish, kinda brownish discharge--one time when I went pee, but it was also the day after I had my first cervical check and GST and nothing else ever happened so for me, I think it was just an odd side effect of the dr messing with my cervix & not the actual plug, but I'm a FTM and don't really know, and my experience could be totally different.
Glad things are going well, soultrane! txmommy14, So good to hear you are feeling better and things are looking up.
So much excitement on the board today!
Drs appt today. I went from 1 cm, 30% last time to 1-2, 50% today. Nothing to write home about, but hey, progress. She did throw out a "first babies are usually late, but you never know." I think she just wanted to make sure I didn't think a bit of dilation was more significant than it is I'd love to avoid induction, but I know I could stall here indefinitely...
Sorry Outofhiding. The vision change sounds scary. I'm glad your doctor was able to see you right after. I understand the feelings of being overwhelmed. Hugs for you. Hang in there!

Thanks for the input. I guess really it's just wait and see, either way.
What made me question it was the texture/shape for lack of better descriptors. Who freaking knows.

My very TMI answer; when I had my foley bulb when I was induced with DD - the entire thing came out with the bulb. It looked like a big bloody snotty goober that you hack up when you've been sick with a sore throat... Times 1,000. I think you can lose it with a close cervix. I know you can lose it piece by piece, so it's totally possible you could've just lost a bit. But it's my belief when you think IT's part of the plug, it is!

Well. In my desperation to know, I googled it. Based on your description and pictures, I'm 99.9% sure that's what it was. But I'm not gonna lie, I'm devastated to know you can lose it with a closed cervix. Haha

That happened to me when I had my miscarriage. I had to pull the thing. So gross.
I'm going on strike. I refuse to pee ANY MORE. I'm just going to sit on the couch until I explode. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
I tried that this morning after getting up roughly 20 times throughout the night. I lasted about a half hour in bed before I gave in and got up to pee again.
So excited... I found a mamaroo through a mom Facebook page today for $75 and it is like brand new! I didn't want to buy a new one since we aren't sure we will have another but I couldn't pass this one up. Super excited to use it and I'm hoping she likes it! If not I figured we could probably sell it and break even but I'm excited to use it. A friend of mine just had her baby a couple weeks ago and she was so content in it I fell in love. DH tried getting me to register for it with DD but I just thought it was silly for that price when we needed so many other things and now I wonder if it would have been really good for her since she was so colicky. Anyway, I also got a double stroller this week from a second hand store that was brand new in the box for $60 cheaper than a new one so that was nice too. I am feeling ready to go now and we kept it on a budget This time I am feeling like I have things I always wanted for DD but didn't want to spend the money on. There was just so much more we needed for our first that I didn't get a lot of the things that would have been nice to have like a ring sling or ergo so I'm pretty excited that we've been able to do that since we have everything else from DD. I'm hoping it will make life easier with 2!

I feel like I make that decision once a day when I'm just so tired of pulling my heavy ass off the couch to go pee. I regret it every time because when I finally do get up I have to do the panicky fast waddle, which is even worse than the regular waddle. Every single time my dog is in the way of the path to the bathroom too. One of these times, I'm not going to make it!
