Random question that I found myself googling tonight. Anyone know they have a sunny side up baby? I feel tons of small movements around my belly button. Kicks or taps that I can't tell what they are but are too small to be a butt. I know she's head down though. Any insights? I'm 39 weeks so not much time left to move.
I wish I knew how to tell - other than when labour starts (hello back labour).
DD was completely sunny side up.
This little guy was PERFECTLY facing my spine on Monday, but was diagonally sunny side up by the time it was time to try pushing on Friday.
Your baby could be sideways and it's a hand or elbow you're feeling around your belly button.
Apparently sleeping and laying with pillows/peanut ball between your legs keeps pelvis opens and encourages babies to move into the proper position - even during labour (we tried this. Didn't work for me, but apparently does for many!)
I think I finally lost it emotionally today. DH has been working a lot of night shifts, which leaves almost all the care for DS to me. He was supposed to not work tonight and I was ready for a break. Well, on his way home from work this morning he told me that unfortunately he is going to have to work again tonight. This is in addition to an extra shift for this coming week that will put him at (6) 12-hour night shifts in 7 days. I know that has got to be so tiring for him, but I'm just so exhausted and I need help. I've ugly cried about it several times this morning. I need to come up with some activities for DS for today where he can run around and I can sit. I did sign up for grocery delivery this morning, so that should help. Ok I'm done complaining now.
We had our first night home last night, I didn't sleep very well but everyone else did which is much better than what I was expecting so I'll take it! Feeling pretty good though!
I'm sorry you're dealing with that babyzebra. It would be stressful and I don't blame you for the ugly cries. When does your H plan to start staying home?
Hugs babyzebra. That is a tough situation and totally understandable why you would be upset. These toddlers have all the energy in the world and it's not their fault their mamas are very pregnant and tired. You want to keep them occupied and challenged but you're tired. Hopefully you can come to a happy medium of finding enjoyable activities for your DS that allows you to stay off your feet as much as possible. Hope your DH's work schedule looks a lot better next week so it affords you the parenting help you need.
babyzebra, I'm sorry that sounds incredibly hard. Glad you are getting groceries delivered to at least take one thing off your plate. It gets hard enough towards the end and adding in solo parenting would really put things over the edge.
I can't remember exactly how old your DS is but towards the end I found it helped to try to expend as little mental energy with my DS as possible so I a lot slide, you want pb&J for dinner, fine, you want to watch the same episode of Paw Patrol 4 times in a row, okay. I got him a couple of new toys and a sticker book to help keep him busy. We went to a couple of local small children's museums, so a lot for him to do and see but small enough not to require a lot of walking from me and places for me to sit while he played. Do you have anything like that near you?
babyzebra, some of my favorites for DS1 are the trampoline place and the local bounce place. Both have hours specifically for little kids so parents don't have to hover quite as much. If you have something like that near you, it's a great way for them to get out some major energy without you having to do a whole lot.
DH did really well at his race yesterday and we are back home. I'm halfway surprised I made it! Today we just have church and relaxing on the menu. I think we are clear to have the baby since my mom is here and the race is over! I've been having a few random contractions and lost the mucous plug or at least part of it Friday night so I'm crossing my fingers I actually go into labor on my own this time. I told DH I bet it will be in a week but really it's just wishful thinking that it happens!
Thanks guys, it felt good to get that out and I appreciate the support. pbandj714 MH can basically stop working any time after the baby is born. He's staying there for now since we are on his health insurance. csat we do have some places like that and I've been thinking about taking him to some. I'm just concerned that I wouldn't be able to walk with him to and from the parking garages or that he might run off while we're in there (he's gotten way better with that though so I don't *think* he would run). soultrane we have an awesome trampoline place near by, but unfortunately on the weekends they are mostly just open for birthday parties.
I think I'm going to attempt the play area at the mall soon. The park would be best, but it's over 90 degrees here. DS has not tried to escape from the play area the last 3 or 4 times we've been there, so I'm crossing my fingers that he behaves himself! Thanks again ladies!
ETA and my sister just called and asked if she could bring DS with them to the splash pad in a little bit. Yes, please and thank you!
babyzebra huge hugs!! That is so hard and stressful. 6 night shifts in 7 days is insane. You have every right to be upset - I know I probably would have lost it a lot sooner! Hopefully you can find some good activities today for DS and I'm glad you signed up for grocery delivery! And please feel free to complain any time- we are here for you! ❤️
babyzebra that is so hard on both of you. You deserve a huge break and I hope it comes soon. Ds didn't have school this week and it was so hard for me to come up with activities that kept him entertained and didn't require me to move as much. This morning I let him sit in a cardboard box in his undies and paint outside with his feet and hands. He loved it. If you want more suggestions I'll try to send more. Hang in there! @broadwaymana csat welcome home!

((Hugs)) babyzebra. I'm finding it hard to keep up with DD with two paremts present. If you have one I highly recommend playing in the kiddie pool. I tested it out yesterday and I definitely fit. DD had a blast pouring water over me. So nice for the 90 degree heat
I'm feeling pretty proud of myself. Went on a little half mile hike (roundtrip) to a waterfall and was able to still comfortably wear DD on my back in the KP. Sadly didn't even trigger any BH. This baby is never coming out
It's sad when the most exciting part of your day is your baby finally pooping after two days of not going. #lifewithanewborn We changed three diapers because it just kept coming.
Ordering take out tonight and dreading DH going back to work tomorrow, but glad my mom is here! She got up with DS today and let us sleep a bit.
We had a great first night home last night, so I actually felt rested the first time since going into labor. I'm hoping tonight is a repeat.
LO had her first outing today as DD1's Violin Program played with the town's symphony today. It was a great experience and music. LO and DD2 evidently slept through the entire thing (I had to be with DD1 backstage).
My mom is leaving tonight so tomorrow will be the real test ...how to mother 3 kids at once. Since the big girls don't want to be away from the baby for even a second it could be challenging! We may watch a few extra shows tomorrow and take it easy.
Yesterday we were 2 hours away for a birthday party and on the way home I started having some real contractions but they were like 10-15 minutes apart. I just kept saying just get us home to DH. About 20 minutes from home we heard this weird sound coming from our car so we had to pull off and realized the bottom part of the car that covers the engine and other parts had fallen off and was hanging. Got that pulled off and back on the road. Had a couple more contractions but when we got home they started to settle down. I do feel like she's dropped and have been getting lots of Braxton hicks and leg cramps today. I know this could mean I'm still weeks out or it could mean days. I am just hoping to not have too many more of those nights where nothing happens after thinking it might!
That's an impressive hike packerfan4life! I keep thinking all my activity will trigger labor too, but no luck over here either. I think I just might get out the kiddie pool, that's a good idea!
mladerri I bet a whole week with your DS not in school was tough especially since kids in school are used to so much structure and so many activities. It always give me such an appreciation of his school and teachers when I'm the sole entertainment for so long. Oh and my DS loves to sit in cardboard boxes too! It's the simple things..
txmommy14 yay for poop!! I'm glad your mom is there and can help out!
I just love hearing your sibling stories shoogars! I'm glad you had a good first night!
birdhut it's frustrating to have things fizzle out after you think it might lead to something. I'm glad you guys were able to get back home though. That could have been a little interesting if you had gone into labor while being a little far from home with car trouble!

I'm thankful I have a check up first thing tomorrow am... My BP has been on the rise all day. (I've been checking it often through this pregnancy). As of 8pm, it's 139/90 (has been super low until Now). My last pg, this is where they took me off work, started NST's and induced two days later. Interested to see what things are like in the AM ....
Congrats on the poop txmommy14! You deserve all the victories right now!'
We are struggling with choking. We use a premie bottle and only give an ounce at each feeding. She had choked and stopped breathing three times today. The worst moments of my life. She threw up a whole bottle as well. We see the pediatrician tomorrow thank goodness.
I have been laboring at home since about 11am. Contractions have recently really picked up and we are prepping to head to the hospital in the next hour or so, assuming things stay close to 5 min apart. DD1 is already with my friend. Please please please let this be it.
