We're taking the big to a comic convention today. He's dressed as the Eleventh Doctor (Who).
We left LO with my mom and sisters. We don't see them often and he had some serious stranger danger when we arrived last night. He's not going to be happy when he wakes up and we aren't there :/
Minor success in avoiding an insanely early wake up! A woke up at 4:45, so I treated it exactly like an old school MOTN feeding. No lights, no talking. She ate and then went back down until 6:30. I don't want to get back in the habit of MOTN feeds, but the fear that washed over me at the thought of being up for the day at 4:45 was powerful.
Our Airbnb has tons of cute kid cutlery and dishes from IKEA, so obviously that will be happening today. Love being home.
DH is at a breakfast event until 9, I'm getting my hair cut at 9:45....coming home, feeding Freya, going shoe shopping (need nude wedges for a wedding I'm in next weekend), seeing Me Before You with my mom and sis, going make up shopping for wedding and collapsing in exhaustion with wine, pizza and outlander.
I'm attempting my first yard sale this morning once A will be down for his nap. My neighbours are already set up.
I'm still pissed at SO who puts his work golf tournament ahead of our show tonight. I would have loved to go early in the city and have dinner and a stroll in the port. Looks like we'll rush getting there and pay the stupidly high parking to be near (and stuck in traffic to leave).
But I'm seeing my first Cirque du soleil show tonight and it's exciting! !
Whatever this sickness I have got worse last night. I feel like I'm swallowing knives and I have a fever and everything aches. I think I'll go to the walk in health clinic at the grocery store for a quick strep test and Popsicles after I put baby down.
This afternoon we have family pictures with my immediate family (minus dad). We are even including the dogs (5 total) so should be interesting and fun.
Happy Saturday! DH has finals next week so KVIII and I are having a girls day so he can study. I think the grocery store and music class are in our plans today.
I'm so glad you came to your senses and started spelling her name in a more unique manner.
xcrissx, We've noticed M seems to look at us for approval when meeting someone for the first time or seeing someone we haven't in awhile. Once she sees us smile and say it's okay she seems to relax.
Love love love Cirque du soleil!! emejay Aside from the rushing and traffic, I hope you have an amazing night!
Afm, we've been up since 3 am but not because of sleep issues, we met a friend whose moving to Seattle for coffee before he took off. Hoping M will go down for a long nap soon. Right now, we're watching Daniel Tiger and I'm enjoying coffee. ME has military duty this weekend and for the next two weeks so I'm keeping plans light. Hoping to get some deep cleaning done today.
Dani is getting so frustrated with not being able to crawl, but she just isn't getting the hang of it at all. She wants to move and go places, but she can't. She is closer to pulling up than she is to crawling at this point.
I also just Primed a toy tv remote out of desperation because she is obsessed with ours.
And, while trying to stand up, she just launched herself backwards and smacked her head on the marble around our fireplace. Going to be a stellar day, I can tell...
A only had two minor wake ups easily solved with some rocking. Up at 5:20 after going to bed 90 min later than usual, once again proving late to bed does not mean late to rise.
H has a 103 fever and puked a bunch. I have a hair appt, so ILs are going to spot me. I might take A out for errands afterward just to get out of the house. Was going to meet up with another TCFer in my city, but with fever and A's new cold, I don't think that's happening.
txshep, Dani will get there, and then you'll miss potted plant baby. A got very frustrated until she figured it out.

I cannot tell you the amount of times DD1 fell and smacked the back of her head on furniture/kitchen floor/etc while she was learning to walk. I was honestly worried about a traumatic brain injury. And she's fine now!
As for crawling...well DD1 never did. She figured out standing around 8 months & cruised around furniture. Took her first steps at 8.5 months and was walking fairly well by 10 months.
During story time, while all the other babies were sitting around the teacher, Dani sat across the room smiling and waving to herself in the mirror... for 45 minutes.
She is also the only baby who claps along when they sing "If you're happy and you know it."
So her primary life skills are clapping, waving, and smiling. I'm raising a pageant queen.
Also eta: Rafa is 9 months today, only 3 months until 1 year old! How did that happen?!
Low key weekend here, I had an expensive dentist trip on Thursday and getting my hair cut and coloured tomorrow so need to keep the spending down.
I've bought two pairs of Lularoe leggings in as many days - and now I'm seriously considering becoming a consultant. I just don't want to become one of THOSE mlm people.
My neighbour didn't even plan on doing a yard sale. When he saw that we were a couple of neighbours to do one he started putting crap from his house on a table and he is the best seller of the street. But his wife keeps fighting with him because he's selling stuff she still uses.
It's 10:45 and my kid is on his second nap. We've been to the grocery store, had breakfast, my H went to the dump, I've done laundry, my H has cleaned the grill and I've cut Js nails. It's amazing what you can get done when you get up at 5.
We are tackling unpacking boxes from the garage this weekend and arranging furniture. Hannah slept from 930-730 last night so I feel like a new person today. DS has so much energy today so I think some outdoor time will be in order later.
emejay we plan to have a garage sale in a few weeks and I worry no one will by my stuff.
txshep well you do live in Texas so the beauty pageant queen is fitting. Plus Dani would be adorable all dressed up and I totally see her charming all the judges. I had a small obsession with Toddlers and Tiaras when that show was on.

PSA for Canadians who are in the market for convertible car seats, BRU has Britax Clicktight Marathons on sale in the verve pattern until Thursday. Got one for around $320, so around $130 off.
Having a garage sale in the pouring rain blows. I wasn't planning on selling any of DD stuff but some lady came by for girl stuff so I hauled it out and she bought it all. So many feels since all I pulled out was her coming home outfit. I've sold a lot considering the rain but I'm not looking forward to having to haul it back into my house. I did get rid of her obnoxiously large jumper and a random extra crib mattress. So I guess it's a win for me. I'm hoping it picks up again soon so I can atleast be able to condense a few more boxes. DH truck started leaking antifreeze last night so I'm sure that is where all of the garage sale money will go.

I think you should change her name to Danknee so that she can be special too, since clearly is she a little diva.
Oh, Old Navy makes coordinating mommy and me clothes? And I have Super Cash to spend? Well then... Looks like Dani and I will be coordinated for the summer.
