Well day 1 was overwhelming. Someone told me that I'm much softer than I was before. Cuz, "you used to be kinda hard". Thanks, bitch. Major eye role.
My friend was supposed to come over and help with J tonight since I'm soloing for the first time and she texted that she has a headache. Again, major eye role.
I'm in a mood. Can you tell? Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.
I'm so tired of my baby spitting up and vomiting ALLLLL THE TIME. So, so tired of it.
I'm hoping she grows out of it soon, but who knows. It would be fun to actually dress her in cute clothes or, you know, do at least a third less laundry than I do now.
My husband and I joke around saying that DD2 needs to do our laundry when she is older since she creates SO much laundry (spit up).
I WISH DS would get tired earlier - but the little dude is a night owl! I am hoping that he will drop his nap in the next few months and start going to bed earlier. He still takes a nap, but they are getting shorter and shorter - only about 45 mins these days.
DD1 is a night owl and it's super annoying. I feel like there is no time for me and my husband to relax together. Once DD1 goes to sleep, it's my bedtime.

Did they think you would thank them for that comment? WTF

Dd1 would be, too, if she napped. Now she has to be sick before I'm willing to deal with those shenanigans. She's usually a good sport all day, but will get drowsy in the car sometimes. I will try everything to keep her from falling asleep on the way home from activities... singing loudly, asking her silly questions, reaching back and tickling her knees, etc etc.
It sucks not getting a break during the day, but those 2 hours to unwind at the end of the day are priceless.

I'm sure it's hard with no break. Our DD1 isn't ready to drop her nap yet though. She sleeps horribly at night if she skips her nap.

My dd1 sleeps horribly no matter what we do. If napping helped, I'd be all about that. It's crazy how different kid's sleep patterns are.
Okay, horribly might be a bit of an exaggeration because her infant sleep was truly horrible, but it's rare that she STTN even now.
ETA: My MIL told us not too long ago that she'd never heard of a 2-year-old not sleeping through the night before. She's actually a pretty rad lady, but that comment has just stuck with me. She's kind of gossipy, and I can only imagine what she says to other family members about us. Of course, all her kids got rice cereal in their bottles at 4 weeks old and did the "shut the door and don't go in until morning" sleep training method from about that age as well.

Whateves, my 3 y/o rarely sleeps through. I think that's just life with littles. Don't feel like you are doing something wrong. She is wrong.

Damn she sounds a little crazy and yes it is interesting/exhausting to hear how different babies' sleep cycles are.

Once J learned to blow spit bubbles he hasn't looked back. He can blow angry spit bubbles, happy spit bubbles, traveling spit bubbles in the car, you name it.
I just got a whole bunch of angry spit bubbles as I reswaddled him.

Well she doesn't know very many 2 year olds. DS is 5 and didn't consistently sleep through he night until he was at least 4!

Yes! Who knew spit bubbles could have so many nuances!!
The midgets are in bed. S is still awake, talking to himself/his toys, and I can't get it up to fight with him about it. It's way too effing hot in this house. I was going to unpack some more boxes, but I think I'm going to have some ice cream instead.

Thanks for asking very thoughtful of you. Was trying not be be a whiner especially since I didn't have energy to participate in whole thread. Eye still bugging me. Thought I finally had it flushed. Employee called in sick so i couldn't have gone anywhere today anyway though. Milk is still in pooper but maybe a little better. Period peaked today so maybe that helped. Did get to pump once and ate my weight in oatmeal. Hopefully that helps too.

I've got no evidence on this, but someone on one of my old BMBs said that her pedi said that only about 50% of 5-year-olds STTN every night (being sick is of course an exception). That made me feel a bit better, and I'm just going to say it's true.
Lollipop - I am relieved to hear that your LO started going to bed earlier after he dropped his nap. DS actually used to go to bed even later (rarely fall asleep before 10) - so him going to bed at 8:30 and falling asleep by 9:30 actually feels much more do-able!
The 10pm bedtime was turning DH and I into zombies ... we would put him in bed at 8:30 and he's be up until 10 - 10: 30 :/
