Both kids were up before 6am this morning. It was hot yesterday but some unexpected running around happened so no kiddie pool. Val never really napped yesterday either, but was in a rather delightful mood it took me by surprise.
My friends mother passed away two weeks ago & she had her celebration of life ceremony last night at a hall near my house. It was nice I got there late since I waited for H to get home so I could go solo. I made it in time for the prayer & eulogy. The kids were great for H and he even made the kids dinner! I wasn't expecting that since I new I would be back before bed time so I was pleasantly surprised.
We have decided that for the first time living in our house we will open our pool ourselves. We though about it last year but since the pool company had just installed the new pump & filter we figured they should open it. I have helped my mom open her above ground pool as a kid so I'm not completely in the dark about it. I watched a video last night so now I just need to take Inventory of what chemicals we need before we start.
Good morning! Caught up on yesterday's Randoms at 4:30am. Good times I went to bed at 8:15 last night because I fell asleep on the couch. Ellis seems to be reverse cycling but it's not a rejection of the bottle as much as it is that she's too excited to crawl, stand, and explore during the day. She will only take an ounce or two at a time during the day most of the day (whether I'm home or she's getting a bottle). Hoping that changes soon
****loss and living child discussed***** We're queer. I'm 34, have severe stage 4 endo, and both fallopian tubes are gone. My love ("Manada" 33) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tav.in and Ca.sey at 21 weeks gestation.

SO opened the pool last week and it was easier than I thought!
I'm getting released by my urologist today!! Last freaking time I have to go to the hospital for my kidney. I can finally put that thing behind me.
Tomorrow, SO and I want to go to a beer tasting event with friends and family. I always kinda judged people with strollers at that event but I now want to do it? I don't think A would stay still and happy in the ergo for a couple of hours. Is this inappropriate? SO'S cousin will be there with her 3 months old too.

Go! Enjoy the beer tasting!! I took my kids to our local dive bar for some day drinking for my sisters 21st birthday in March

A stroller sounds much more enjoyable than a man baby strapped to you while drinking beer. Enjoy!

I say Bring your stroller. Even if you're carrying A, the stroller will be a buffer from drunk folks bumping into you.

Oh I have absolutely no problem day drinking with baby! It's more because it's in a big convention center and it gets jam packed, loud and hot.

DS is refusing his breakfast, but wants pita chips & hummus. Good thing I got the big bag of pita chips & the big tub of hummus! At least it's a healthy option.
emejay - definitely go to the beer tasting. I'd bring the stroller. How crowded can Wednesday afternoon be?
J slept until 5:40!! While this may not seem like late, he's been getting up before 5 in recent weeks. We put up blackout curtains last night and kept his fan on (and he didn't poop). Thebdamn cat woke him with her yelling (she screams at my H when he gets out of the shower because she wants love).

My cat is very vocal in the morning too. He wants love before the kids get all the attention, but his loud ass does wake them up. It's funny though at night it doesn't. My cats a jerk and gets super excited about the outside cats he runs all over our house at night yowling before we go to bed.
The weather has gone from rainy to HOT, which I guess is better. At least Cal and I can enjoy the parks a bit. We're currently sharing a baguette with some brie and then this baby needs a nap!
emejay, we love the GB Qbit that I've been toting all over France. The 2016 version is even better but wasn't available before we left. I prefer this style to the traditional umbrella stroller.
The listing service called this morning to show our house at 5 today. When I told them weekday appointments required 24 hour notice, they got snotty with me. She said, "The note from your realtor says 24-notice preferred." My response? Well then I prefer that they reschedule for tomorrow.
Haven't been around much the last few days so here are some France updates, etc...
Went to Annecy for the weekend, it was as ridiculously beautiful as the photos. It's one of those places that you see photos of on Pinterest and think, "that can't be real"...oh, it's real.
A week after I initially complained to our Airbnb host, we were finally able to move out. The new place is great! Not luxury but clean and big, Cal even has his own room too bad we're only in it for our last week but better late than never. With the new apartment and sunny weather I feel like I can finally enjoy this place!
I just started reading Bringing Up Bebe and really like it so far. Now I look around and can see some truth behind many of the author's observations. I also spent all weekend reading BookishMomma 's book - so many feels!
Every time I'm in Europe I'm surprised by the popularity of Eastpak backpacks. I remember Eastpak being the brand your mom bought at Kmart and you were pissed because all you wanted was a Jansport like everyone else. Here, Eastpak backpacks area everywhere.

My cats are also assholes and wake everyone up at like 4 am. If they keep this up I will put them in the basement with the closed doors for the night. Sorry but sleep.

Trouble free pools is a great place for pool information!! I'd suggest you spend some time reading there before heading to the pool store, in my experience they will try to sell you a lot of chemicals that you don't actually need.
We do all our own opening and closing.
Our pool is a swamp this year, oy. We are in the middle of opening but it's taking more work than usual.
cowplanet, That is a subject I definitely wouldn't want to have to research.
Afm, M decided 2 am was the perfect wake up time and continued to party until about 4ish am. Surprisingly though, she was in a great mood. Dropping her off at DC this morning was such a sweet experience. One of the little girls who is 18 mo came up waving and saying "hi Mila" to which Mila responded with the biggest smile and then they hugged. ::wipes tears:: It was so sweet I am all mushy about it and it was because of this that she didn't focus enough on my leaving to cry as I left.

Ya we have some chemicals, but I need shock & chlorine tablets. It's not so much the chemicals since I know how to balance pool water it's more of making sure the pump & pool filter are ready to rock. I watched a video so now I know to plug all the drains and such. That's the part I have never done! H is having one of his buddies come by to help take off & clean the safety cover.
