And now I have to work through lunch, leave early, wrangle the baby/dog on a walk for an hour (in 90 degree heat), because the people wanting to see our house are from out of town and absolutely need to see it this evening.
I'm getting released by my urologist today!! Last freaking time I have to go to the hospital for my kidney. I can finally put that thing behind me.
Tomorrow, SO and I want to go to a beer tasting event with friends and family. I always kinda judged people with strollers at that event but I now want to do it? I don't think A would stay still and happy in the ergo for a couple of hours. Is this inappropriate? SO'S cousin will be there with her 3 months old too.

Just started my first true PP period I've had a few real light ones but holy hell. I am glad I have a long sweater on because there was no way I can make it home to change on my lunch hour. Also have a criminal jury trial tomorrow and my client is not going to show up. So that'll be fun.

Go for a drive with AC blasting?
Ranger is the only dog on earth who loathes car rides. Cramming his 110lb ass into the backseat of my sedan, next to the car seat, while he pants and sheds, is its own circle of hell.

That face tho!
But, seriously, that really sucks. At the very least these people better put in a damn offer!
Also, I agreed to watch my former co-worker's children for 3 hours per week, starting the first week in July. So I'll have a nearly 4-yr old, a 3 yr-old, a 2 yr-old, and a 10-month old. I am crazy.
It's hot & sticky so I finally turned on the ac. Both kids have been super grouchy & now they are both napping. I think I'm gonna eat some ice cream in peace!
I haven't seen a kid older than 2.5 in a stroller. Maybe standing on a sit-n-stand type but usually they're walking or riding some sort of scooter.
Every store has a loyalty card, clothing stores, grocery stores, target-type stores, even the department store I spent too much money in today asked if I had a 'community' card. Odd.
I've noticed that women do not style their hair. It all looks like wash-and-wear, maybe thrown up in a messy bun or pony but never in something that looks planned - never curled or braided or anything else.
This city has bike lanes on every street and they even have their own traffic light at intersections (it's below the car traffic light). Speaking of, traffic lights are placed before the cross walks so cars cannot accidentally stop in the crosswalk - they wouldn't be able to see the light. And cars and bikes actually stop for pedestrians. It's great (unlike in Utah where aiming for pedestrians seems like a state-wide sport).
I've always known that smoking bothers me, and I come across is so rarely in the states but here it's EVERYWHERE. People don't seem to either know or care that others don't want to be around it. Light up 3 cigarettes in a row while sitting in a restaurant next to a baby? Sure. Smoke next to a crowd of school children waiting for the tram? Of course!
The other thing I cannot get used to are the hours that shops and restaurants keep. All shops (except large department stores) are closed for lunch from 12-2p, they also usually don't open until 11am and close for the day at 5 or 6p. Living in Alabama was the first time I encountered restaurants that closed between lunch and dinner, which didn't seem like too big of a deal at the time. Here, 99% of restaurants open for lunch from 12-2 and for dinner from 7-9:30. That's it! Bars and cafes might be open from like 4:30-7:30 for drinks only. Rarely do I come across a restaurant that is 'non-stop'...which is why I had a Subway sandwich for dinner tonight, it was the only thing open at 6pm and I needed to get Cal back for bedtime (H is at school late tonight).

This is what I'm worried about for our trip in the fall. Getting K to bed at her normal time will mean we have to sacrifice dinner most nights?
I can't remember, where are you going?
I read a blog post about traveling with kids that suggested making lunch your big, eat-out, meal. That way everyone can enjoy themselves (hopefully) and then have snacks, take-out, or quick meal for dinner. I think this is a great suggestion, unfortunately, H is at school during the day and taking a baby to a nice big lunch by myself kind of defeats the purpose. We've tried to be pretty lax about C's 'schedule' here because we know his sleep is all messed up any way, sometimes we just put him in the stroller or carrier until he falls asleep and then drag him to dinner. Luckily, he's been doing pretty well with unpredictable sleep, etc.
It's exactly the same as my current car, colour and all. We haven't told anyone that we are getting a new one, we are going to say we got it detailed if asked and see if anyone notices. We are placing bets on how long it'll take the older kids to notice.
I've been worried that the deal would fall through. I don't really understand the logistics of it, but the new car has all the same options plus awd and navigation, but we are getting it for 3k less than we paid for the current car 4 years ago and a better interest rate 0%.
We negotiated like crazy last time and got 10k off the total so I'm not sure how we could get this car for even less. I keep thinking they are going to say they made a mistake and it's off, but the paperwork was finalized today.
My clinic said last week that embryo transfers are generally scheduled between 11am and 2pm. Mine is scheduled at 9:20am and I have to be there by 9am. Not a problem, except that I live three hours away without traffic and at least four hours away when I have to go through rush hour. Daycare doesn't open until 6:30am and DH is required to go with me. I hope the backup sitter we arranged for tomorrow evening is available early in the morning instead. The time is not flexible.
emejay - definitely go to the beer tasting. I'd bring the stroller. How crowded can Wednesday afternoon be?
J slept until 5:40!! While this may not seem like late, he's been getting up before 5 in recent weeks. We put up blackout curtains last night and kept his fan on (and he didn't poop). Thebdamn cat woke him with her yelling (she screams at my H when he gets out of the shower because she wants love).
My cats are also assholes and wake everyone up at like 4 am. If they keep this up I will put them in the basement with the closed doors for the night. Sorry but sleep.
Same here. At our house we locked them up in the basement bedroom every night. In our current (temporary) housing it's the bathroom, and everyone has white noise or a fan to try and drown out the early morning howling. It doesn't work.

So I've been basically MIA for the last couple months. We made a cross country move and are now in temporary housing until we find a house to buy. We're putting an offer on a place this week but the market is super competitive. Hopefully it works out!
E is dragging himself all over the place (not sure I can call it crawling, he basically only uses his forearms and toes) and has four teeth and a fifth working its way through. He's scarfing purees and having fun playing with finger foods.
I'm sure I've missed major news but hopefully can catch up and be on here more!
God my kids have been crazy today. H walked in the door as I was cooking them dinner. I looked at him and asked if I could run away, he said yes. Now where do I go???

If you find that's the case, order a late lunch that will keep well as take out and warm it up later.

I don't remember if you have family members near?
Otherwise, that is so exciting! Will you transfer only one embryo this time?

emejay yay! Also, I love my Uppababy umbrella stroller, it reclines which is sweet for such a light stroller. Maybe it's not technically an umbrella? But it's small and lightweight.
txshep ugh! Arranging showings is SO hard, especially with kids and pets. We are doing a weekend of open house every day and then asking for offers by a specific time Monday. Hopefully it works! There is no way we could arrange showings for individuals.
This week has been crazy. So much packing and cleaning. H is having a good road trip with his brother so far. Speaking of, can I just brag on H for a minute? In the midst of all the painting, patching, packing, planning and stress, he made time to do something so special for me. Today in my nightstand I found two envelopes with a date range on each one. Inside each one is a stack of cards with a date on the outside of each envelope for every day we will be apart. I opened the first one today, and I'm so excited to read all the sweet notes every day! It will give me just the boost I need to keep going.

We thought of this too. Our solution(s): keep him in East coast time, which means he'll go to sleep around midnight and be up at 10, permitting dinners out. Or, have a fancy lunch and a simple dinner.
Our trip is in five weeks. I'll let you know what works!

Welcome back! This is how J crawls too. But he only uses the toes on one foot (his left). His right is usually in the air. Sometimes though it looks like he's doing the breast stroke with his feet.
So while walking the dog/baby waiting for people to look at our house, I walked past it a couple of times. The people who "could only see our house tonight because they were here from out of town," despite our requirement for 24-hour weekday notice, showed up with 3 cars (with local plates - not rental cars) full of people. They stayed all of 20 minutes. Thank you for making me leave work and waste my effing time. I call total BS on your out of town story. Never again. No more exceptions.

We're going to the UK. I've pretty much succumbed to the fact that her schedule is going to be messed up and we'll fix it when we get back. Hopefully she cooperates!
Asher's schedules all messed up for our travel this past week too - were relying on carrier and stroller naps during the day. Oh well.

Ugh that sucks!!!! I'd be so pissed! I like the idea of having set open houses though. When I was looking for a house recently, I didn't know why no one had those anymore! (At least in my area)
