emejay yay! Also, I love my Uppababy umbrella stroller, it reclines which is sweet for such a light stroller. Maybe it's not technically an umbrella? But it's small and lightweight.
txshep ugh! Arranging showings is SO hard, especially with kids and pets. We are doing a weekend of open house every day and then asking for offers by a specific time Monday. Hopefully it works! There is no way we could arrange showings for individuals.
This week has been crazy. So much packing and cleaning. H is having a good road trip with his brother so far. Speaking of, can I just brag on H for a minute? In the midst of all the painting, patching, packing, planning and stress, he made time to do something so special for me. Today in my nightstand I found two envelopes with a date range on each one. Inside each one is a stack of cards with a date on the outside of each envelope for every day we will be apart. I opened the first one today, and I'm so excited to read all the sweet notes every day! It will give me just the boost I need to keep going.
HOW SWEET!!! I beg DH to write me a nice card for my birthday, but this is beyond sweet.
This is what I'm worried about for our trip in the fall. Getting K to bed at her normal time will mean we have to sacrifice dinner most nights?
We thought of this too. Our solution(s): keep him in East coast time, which means he'll go to sleep around midnight and be up at 10, permitting dinners out. Or, have a fancy lunch and a simple dinner.
Our trip is in five weeks. I'll let you know what works!
When we first arrived C quickly got himself going to bed around 9pm which I thought would work out great so we could still do dinner but over the next few days he moved bedtime to 7 again. Plus, those last 2 hours before bedtime are the worst so they wouldn't really work for us to go out to eat anyway.
Only one place has had a high chair, the restaurant at the very nice hotel we stayed at in Annecy. And it was a pretty antiquated high chair, didn't even have any sort of crotch bar so we kept worrying he was going to fall right out the bottom. We have our Inglesina fast chair which we use in the apartment but I haven't used it out and about because the tables at every restaurant are tiny, tiny, tiny. Like tiny, barely 2 person cafe tables - no way his chair and our plates would fit or that most tables would hold the chair up.

eliza040502, we have this. I think on recommendation from uclameghan? I've used it once and it worked pretty well, although not really finger-food friendly. We'll be taking it to the UK.
Yup - we have it and love it. The only thing is that it's more for you feeding them than them feeding themselves. We're doing a combination of things so no big deal for us.

Thanks @chitownsully, charliefox and uclameghan! J prefers that we feed him (he opens his mouth when he wants more food but doesn't even attempt to put the food in his mouth) so he will probably love this seat.
