So far this morning all I've done is try and keep the dog toy out of T's mouth . All I want to do is finish my coffee , then I'll mommy . But until then I'm a mummy !
Day 2 with 3 kids , I was exhausted yesterday . Hopefully today will be equally smooth .
When my SIL picks my Neice up this afternoon she's going through T's baby clothes . I'm going to be sad to see them go .
I was up hourly because my stomach is angry. Now LO is awake and I'm trying to decide if coffee is worth it. My stomach doesn't want it but my eyes do.
ntaylor989, they can sign so I don't know why they wouldn't be able to understand head shaking. But LO does it all the time and he doesn't have any meaning. He just thinks it's fun.
Ellis woke for the second time last night at 5:15 so I went in and fed her and put her back down and she went to sleep. 15 min later she woke up crying. I was worried she wouldn't be up for the day so I decided to sleep with her on the chaise lounge in her room so that she was more likely to stay asleep. It worked but sleeping sitting up is not quite the same as sleeping in my bed ... I keep putting off night weaning. I always have an excuse. But I think it would be better for her sleep and mine for her to decide she doesn't need to eat overnight. Im worried that she actually does need to eat at this point though because most days she doesn't take enough milk during the day.
****loss and living child discussed***** We're queer. I'm 34, have severe stage 4 endo, and both fallopian tubes are gone. My love ("Manada" 33) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tav.in and Ca.sey at 21 weeks gestation.
@ntaylor, M shakes her head as if to say no, but it's not in response to anything where that would make sense. She does it when I sing or dance in front of her, so I definitely feel like she's being cute.
tsmith312, If you figure out a way to keep dog toys out of T's mouth, please, let me know! We could offer M a brand new toy and she will still go right for the dog toys.
caitost21, I have a cold as well and, to be honest, it feels like it worse than any other cold I've had. I'm glad your H realizes that was a stupid thing to say.
Afm, I am so bummed it's Thursday and not Friday. I have next week off so in trying to power through work this week, even though I'm not feeling well. After having M at work with me yesterday, I've realized the appeal of being able to do that on a regular basis is completely gone. Being at the office was way too restrictive where if we were at home there would have been a lot more for her to do making it easier for me to get things done as well.
Anyone that takes levothyroxine, do you only drink water right after taking it or is tea okay?
@ntaylor I have done a crap job of teaching R signs, but I agree it's possible, it would just be another sign to them. caitost21 I'm sorry you're so sick, that sounds terrible. tsmith312 good luck with the kids today!
So I got our carpets/rugs cleaned and somehow the steaming reinvigorated all the dog smells instead of making them better! FYI for dog owners, the baking soda + oxyclean mix works awesome!!! I sprinkled it on the rugs, let it sit and them vacuumed it up and damn! The house smells awesome. I'm so relieved because I hate those fake air freshener smells. Now my house smells like one giant laundry room, but it's better than the alternative! Our listing goes up today and the first open house is tomorrow...eeek!
healz413 no night weaning here either. Most of the time Hannah will sleep from 930-630 at night but if she does wake, I feed her. Some days she only takes 6-9 oz while I'm at work so I want to make sure she is drinking enough. Especially now that it is warmer I want to make sure her liquid intake is good. I tend to follow her ques for everything else (and did with DS) so I will with weaning too. As much as she love food, she still loves to nurse.
xcrissx hope your stomach feels better. And that maybe you can squeeze in a nap later.
I have an interview this morning for a job I think would fit well in to our family life. It would be 4 days a week and hours that work with our current childcare schedule so that would be nice. I also just realized I have no idea what I'm going to wear. My parents are coming to watch the kiddos since our baby sitter is out this week with her broken arm.
Been up since 430. Where does his energy come from??? If he doesn't fall asleep soon he will be awake until 10 for his 1st daycare nap. Also he is signing gentle right now after ripping tons of my hair out. So much for that teacjing him to be gentle. Lol. He has gotten into a crazy hair pulling trend and it sucks. Any tips on getting him to stop?
Also, developmentally are our babies old enough to shake their heads no and mean no? He has done that a couple times and I don't know if he is communicating or just being cute.
A shakes his head no all the time but it is no tied to meaning no. It's still cute though!
We went to the beer festival yesterday and it was really fun. There were lots of people with babies and strollers. I wouldn't have attempted it another day though. Wednesday is where it's at.
We came back pretty late and put A to bed around 9 ish. ... and he's still asleep! (Sorry sleepless mamas)
It's my dog who woke up twice during the night to go outside. Uhh
Oh and wtf weather? It feels like 5C today. It's one of the big weekend in MTL - Formula 1 Grand Prix and French music festival and the weather is cold and rainy.
We're having A spend the night at grandma's on Saturday for the first time since we have a show but it sucks that we won't be able to make the most of it just strolling through the city
emejay, at least A makes up for the lost sleep in the morning! I'm a little (read: A LOT) jealous of that, no matter when Cal goes to bed he will wakeup at the same time, my kid has an internal clock like no other.
Just getting caught up on yesterday... txshep I hope things work out with the offer, it sounds like you asked for all the right things, and I hope that you're able to find a suitable place while your house is finished! uclameghan, EPing is such a challenge I cannot imagine doing it on vacation, you should be damn proud of yourself.

I don't know who this kid is!! He usually wakes up at 6:15 on the dot. Growth spur ? Haha
So last night's dinner that I was dreading actually turned out great. One of H's classmates lives here and wanted to invite over the couples (us and an Australian classmate whose wife got here a few days ago).
The host family has 3 boys about ages 5-10 and they were the sweetest! They loved Cal, hovered around him giving him hair pats and kisses. Then when the 2 youngest headed to bed they went around the room giving everyone a kiss on both cheeks and saying goodnight - I about died from the cuteness! The oldest was allowed to stay up and eat dinner with us. He cleared plates, passed food, and even offered to refill my wine glass! I told our hostess that I was going to leave Cal with her for a few years
We ate a real 4 course, French dinner and it was amazing, the meal lasted from about 8:30-midnight. Craziness. The Australian's wife and I are going to lunch tomorrow, should be nice not to eat alone for once!
I can't believe we leave on Saturday for Paris. It's been such a crazy long but short trip. With the new apartment and the dry weather I feel like I'm finally getting into a groove!

Welp, I'm doing this today. I have the perfume free oxyclean, you think it'll still do the trick?
So DS woke up ready to go to school?! He is so very excited about it, which is good especially since before he didn't want to leave the house. It's hard explaining to him that school won't start till the fall.
H worked late last night so the kids went to bed later than normal due to baths. By the time they finished dinner & done bathing it was almost 9! I was too tired to cook so H grabbed take out. My kids did not get the memo to sleep later both of them were up at 6:30. Val is on her first nap now & when she wakes up we will head to H's work to drop his phone off.
charliefox, I'm totes jelly of your posh French dinner, tell your friends they should open up a prep school, S15 will probably be all the business they need
ntaylor989, I def think the head shaking could mean no but Raf just does it to be funny. His main dc teacher says she's been teaching them to make dog (ruff) and duck (ack) sounds and that he can do it, as well as sign for "more food", but I just kind of side eye her a little bit. If it's true they switch out babies on me every day, lol. She loves him a lot though so I can't complain.
so yesterday's mysterious $8k deposit was DH's tax refund, but that goes straight to his company because hes on an international assignment and his company pays all his tax. gutted!
Can 9.5 months old go through cluster feeding?! I don't know what the f is going on but Henry has been up every night from about 2-430 wanting to nurse for 5 minutes, sleep for 15, repeat. I'm freaking exhausted and DH is losing his patience. I can't sleep train here though (not that I want to, but DH does) so we need to power through.

Damn, I was really looking forward to extra cinnamon rolls (express mailed so it's before our challenge, just in case andtheheartbreakers is watching).

emejay FET went fine. The doctor was abrasive as usual and ran about 50 minute late, but two embies were put back. Beta is 6/17 (next week Friday). For anyone wondering, I do not even have any pee sticks and I don't plan to buy any.
jessiespano, Sounds like that is exactly what H is doing and is making me wonder if this is why M has been up for 2+ hours MOTN to nurse on and off before falling back to sleep. Last night was a little better. I hope you get some sleep and relief soon!

I'm stuck in first trimester hell. So nauseous and tired all.the.time. And C has decided to start her 9 month regression. I think I've finally made peace with starting to wean. Even though this isn't how I envisioned breastfeeding ending I'm more okay with it than I was.
So in Bringing Up Bebe the author talks about how French babies "do their nights" aka STTN early on, I was asking our hostess about this last night and she tells me that her last boy has trouble sleeping he didn't "do his nights" until like ONE MONTH, and then around 3-4 months he started waking up again and she just went with his (she seemed very embarrassed by this). She said when he was about 1 she couldn't take it anymore so she did the French doctor approved method of leaving the baby to cry at each wake up without tending to them at all, she said it took 3 nights and he's slept ever since. Sounds like Bringing Up Bebe is legit, at least for this family.

I took a half day to go to M's 9 month well baby visit. It was supposed to be a nice morning and Glen and I were going to go to brelafasf between dropping A at school and going to M's dr appt. Glen decided it was the perfect time for him to "getting things done" and left at 7:45 to run errands. I had to get everyone ready and out the door, which was way harder than I anticipated.
I'm finally home and Glen is still out doing whatever. I'm annoyed because it's been a few weeks of him taking off to do things as soon as I'm home. He's not off duty just because I'm home. We are snippy with each other and I'm short tempered with A, which makes me feel guilty.
I don't know how two working parents do it. There aren't enough hours in the day to get shit done with just me working!
H texted me last night that putting A to bed was a disaster and he needs to be more efficient with her night routine. I'm the captain at night with watching her cues and the order of attack. H had dismissed my attempts to prep him...now he regrets that. He wasn't watching the clock or her cues, so they were playing hard past her window. Cue overtired baby woes.
Then she was up at 5 a.m. and he didn't have wifey here to let him stay in bed. I'm mentally high fiving my girl for this. Normal wake up is usually around 530, but she'll occasionally do 5. So now he gets a taste of my life.
I totally failed packing. Hair, face, and bc pills left in car at airport. I've also got a gross hacking cough, so I skipped the morning keynote for some extra sleep and phlegm hacking. Will head out soon to find the campus store for painkillers (flo) and cough drops. I had picked up my prescription on the way to the airport thinking I'd just skip flo week, but I guess divine intervention took care of that.
G is napping in the car so I'm hanging out in the BRU parking lot with a Timmie's (coffee) playing with my new cars settings.
I'm going to run in and get that pop n play yard when he wakes up.
It's weird, it's like my car but not and everything is wrong. I love that it's new but hate that it's unfamiliar :/ also I'm terrified that I'm going to crash it. I never had an accident in my life until we bought our first brand new car 4 years ago, then we had 3 accidents :/
Both big kids noticed right away. I didn't realize that new car would be so much darker.
