My mom took the day off of work so she is helping me run errands with the kids! So excited to finally get new sneakers! We have to go to the town hall where DS was born to correct his birth certificate, they some how got my birthday wrong on it & it can't be fixed at my town hall.
Val is rolling around the floor laughing at the cat when she gets close enough to touch him. Butters is a patient soul he lets her grab at him a few time and gets up & moves, so Val follows.
obie1680 Ellis is obsessed with our cat but the only times she gets to touch the cat are when we are holding both of them. E would be thrilled if the cat would let her crawl after her. Also that's really annoying about having to go to town hall to change the birth certificate.
****loss and living child discussed***** We're queer. I'm 34, have severe stage 4 endo, and both fallopian tubes are gone. My love ("Manada" 33) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tav.in and Ca.sey at 21 weeks gestation.
healz413 both kids are crazy for the cat! Once DS makes his way closer he tends to run away, but Val must be less intimidating to him. DS & Butters will chase each other around the house most of the time, my cat will take any attention he can get these days lol.
E woke at 6:20 and then fell back to sleep on her own until 6:50. It was a small miracle. We have friends of my partner's staying with us and they like to play settlers of catan so we will get to do that after e goes to sleep tonight. I'm so excited that it's almost the weekend! Then I have three days of work and then we have a mini vacation to a cottage to get out of the city and to make Ta.vin and Ca.sey's birthday.

Would someone please let my children know 6am is not an acceptable time to start the day. SO and I stayed up too late watching something on TV. And there is no coffee in the house!!!! Low key day planned here. Story time at the library this morning, grocery store, and then this afternoon I'm going to get out the pool for the kids to play in. It supposed to be90 today so the only way we will be outside is with water.
It's my birthday today Big slept until 7:30 and DD2 woke up right after. Now enjoying some French press coffee in my new LuLaRoe comfy clothes!
I think I'll take the girls for some yummy ice cream later. Then I'm getting my nails done for my BFFs wedding with her & the other bridesmaids and going to dinner with my Dad & stepmom (DH is staying with the girls so I can actually sit and enjoy dinner!).

Happy birthday lady!!! This sounds like an awesome day!

tngrl3 6a has become our norm now that it is summer. It sucks!!
I love chameleon cold brew coffee and Costco started carrying it in boxed wine type containers. That is dangerous!! Normally I make French press and when it's gone it's gone!
I hired painters to paint our house and we went from peach to a dark blue gray. I'm kind of freaking out about the change but I think it looks pretty good.
F is getting very moody lately about playing on his own. I want him to be able to play on his own, but how do I teach him? Let him fuss it out to learn to play by himself??

As a STM I just want to say that the independent play usually goes in phases. Sometimes DD1 is great about playing on her own and other days she follows me around and whines if I'm not sitting right there with her.
britbratjf Happy Birthday! Sounds like a pretty good way to spend the day. Enjoy.
hovenb I've been spoiled with both kids being pretty good sleepers so I really shouldn't complain. On days I don't have to be up for work at least waiting until 7 is preferred! I blame the sun for DS getting up. I tried to tell him the other morning it was still night and he said no, the sun was up it was day. Usually I can nurse Hannah and get another hour of sleep out of her, but the past few mornings she just wants to play. Coffee will have to happen before story time.
Master R and Miss G are home this morning again. Miss G is finishing out her 24 hours fever free and will go to daycare this afternoon. Master R had a persistent cough yesterday and wanted to be held the whole time, so daycare insists on a doctor's note before he is allowed to return. They also suggested breathing treatments since one of their kids had a lot of them when she was young. He's congested and needs to cough up phlegm. There's no way around that and breathing treatments only help bronchial issues. When we saw the doctor on Monday, she agreed with me that a breathing treatment wouldn't help. I *might* go to work for half a day this week if daycare will take R this afternoon.
This makes me rethink working full time when the next round of kids comes along, especially if it's another set of twins. If we have four kids in daycare, I'd only need to work 13-ish hours per week at my current pay rate to earn the salary that is not going to daycare. Right now I miss at least a couple of days a month on average to sick kids or doctor appointments. If MH doesn't take half the sick time I miss even more.
We'll see if I still think this is a good possibility when I'm less frustrated with daycare.
Can I whine? At one point is sleep considered abnormal/problematic? C is a terrible napper, whether she is at home or at DC. Longest nap she gives us is usually about 40 minutes. She naps 1-3 times per day, sometimes for as short as 10 minutes. Her night time sleep still sucks. She is in bed for a total of 11-12 hours, but she still is waking up all night long. On average, she wakes up 4x/night. The best she's ever done is 2x/night. Some nights it's as bad as 7-8x/night. The only thing that will calm her is boob. But, I know she's not hungry/eating because this morning I woke up engorged with a clogged duct. She's not teething. We tried sleep training with minimal success. Halp!

Maybe she wasn't ready for sleep training the first time around?
Thanks emejay. Maybe we should revisit sleep training. When we did it before she would cry so much during MOTN wake ups that she would end up being awake for hours sometimes beause she would get so worked up and be hard to settle. So, we stopped because the thought of getting even less sleep than we were already getting was too much to handle. Then, she started teething. But, maybe we need to try again. Thanks.
britbratjf Happy Birthday birthday twin! Glad your clog seems to be resolved.
It's my birthday today. Z woke up early at 5 and wasn't going back down, so H got up with him. He brought him back to bed at 7 and we napped until 8:30. Unfortunately, I must have slept in a weird position and my shoulder is killing me today. Might try to go to the chiro today. But for now I'm relaxing in bed while H and Z are downstairs.
My friend is coming over at 10 today and hopefully she and I and Z will head to brunch. My ILs will probably get here around 11. We have Z's 9 month appt at 1 and my parents will come for dinner around 4.
C was a beast last night. She went down so easily at 6 and slept until 11:30. Amazing right! Yes, but then she was up, cranky and super wiggly until 4. And then she woke up for the day at 6. I just sent H to the store for the following: Cherry Garcia ice cream, Honeycomb cereal and Gardetto's Rye chips
Dani was a beast this morning. She was totally normal until halfway to daycare, then she screamed the rest of the way there. I'm thinking that she must've bitten down on a toy on the spot that she hurt last night in the tub, and it just set her off. After examining her bloody little mouth last night, at least I know her congestion/cough is from two new top teeth popping through and not allergies or a cold. Bright side to everything, I guess?
At this rate this kid is going to have a full set of teeth before she can crawl.
