So we finally moved ds out of the rock n play last night to the crib. He was up every hour and a half. He would settle with a paci and patting his butt. Anyone have any tips on a smoother transition? Should we just keep on keeping on and hope it gets better? He's sleeping on his belly -- HATES sleeping on his back with the fire of a thousands suns bc he kicks his legs constantly and it wakes him up. He is 5.5mo. Should we just sleep train?
I'm responding without reading other comments just because I've been drinking tonight (horrible week) so, we went through the almost sleeping through the night in the RnP to waking up almost 4 times in the crib. I decided to add a noise fan to his room and I dealt with him getting up a lot and now he's sleeping almost 6 hours straight. It will happen, just takes a while.

scorpioscuba, yep, we'll be in the US for 3 weeks in August.
gizmo, my DD1 is currently very selfish, but she's never had much of a temper. DD2, on the other hand... I recently considered getting an evaluation for her because I felt her tantrums were borderline abnormal, but my pedi just shrugged it all off as normal toddler behavior. I think it wouldn't hurt to mention it to your pedi and ask whether they think it's something you should get an evaluation for. Then at least you have the peace of mind that you asked, even if they say it's normal.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm fairly certain that this is a phase, probably related to having to share our attention. If it continues, I will address it with her doctor.

scorpioscuba, what about calling her out by sending her a text like, "Oh, that's too bad - you don't think they'd give you the day off this far in advance?" Seriously, what a stupid excuse.
