So kind of an offshoot of the pre-pregnancy clothes topic, what are people doing to get back into shape? Or not doing Sir Mix-A-Lot has an excellent point!

I've never enjoyed exercising, but want to start at least walking every day when I'm home with the dictator and doing some core work to tighten up my ab muscles. There's a golds gym near my house and I'm thinking about joining just for some training sessions. I'm terrible at self motivation when it comes to working out. I'm also pumping still and I think that has helped all my baby weight come off.

The title of this thread depresses me. I was so pumped that I gained a bit of an ass during pregnancy, but I swear it just deflated as soon as E was born
I was doing Ballet Beautiful (pilates) during pregnancy and I loved it so I'm going to stick with that. I don't mind if I don't lose any more weight (was underweight before pregnancy), I just want to rebuild some muscle tone.
Right now, just some push ups and sit ups. I'm still super sore down there. The majority of the baby weight is gone so it's just toning things at this point.

20 lbs almost immediately melted off, but I still have a good 15 to work on. I'm not really focused on the scale though. I've never been a diet person, I just try to eat clean and I want to make sure I"m eating enough since I'm bf'ing. My main goal is to get back into top running shape and my body is definitely still healing so it'll take some time. My insides feel weird and all out of place when I run. But I'm slowly getting back into it. I ran 2 days last week and planning to up it to 3 days this week. Doing short 2-3 mile runs and taking it pretty easy. I want to find a half-marathon to do in April or May and then find a full marathon for September/October.
I'm also planning on getting back in the gym this week or at least doing some workout videos at home (I have Jillian MIchael's 30 day shred and a Pilates video). I have to wait for my husband to be home to run/workout and then make sure I've pumped enough milk in case LO gets hungry while I'm out so that's a big adjustment. I'm used to just going out and running whenever the feeling strikes me. I try to go on walks with LO too when the weather is nice.

Started back to roller derby practices on Friday. Looking into mommy&me yoga and barre classes once DS is in preschool. If I was really serious about losing the weight, I'd probably cut out wine, but after nine months without it...yea...that's not happening just yet.

BabyStandish, have you tried her yoga dvd? I like that a lot more than the 30 day shred or doing pilates. (I actually can't wait to do it again; I'm weird, I know).

Squats and elipitcal/running are good for gaining a butt! My intentions were more for how people were getting in shape, not necessarily losing weight

I've done nothing really so far. I'm only 2 weeks pp though. I probably could do something, since I feel great, but I notice if I get too busy with house stuff I start to bleed again. I've been more conscious of what I'm eating though. After I'm cleared for working out, I want to hit it hard core. I'm over weight to begin with, and I'm ready to take control of my life back.
I lost 20 lbs already, I have 15 to go to hit pre pregnancy weight....and then I have quite a bit more to lose. I have already been back to the gym doing "light duty". Once I am cleared next friday I will start kickboxing again. I also plan on daily walks once it warms.

I've lost 13lbs since giving birth, I could lose a lot more even though I'm 28lbs below my pre pregnancy weight. I'd love to start working out but when I tried working out with DS1 I started losing my milk. maybe I could try some yoga. Anyone have a favorite yoga dvd?
I have 4 little bears, just like my name says. 2 girls 2 boys ages 8,5,3, and my newest babe. 2 of my little bears have life threatening food allergies, feel free to ask me more about that!
I worked out all through pregnancy, mainly walking and doing elliptical. I am ready to start running again though (I stopped in the first trimester), but will probably wait until after my 6 week appointment for that. In the meaintime, I'm going to start walking again, doing the elliptical and maybe T-25 until then. We'll see how that goes.
I lost all my preg weight +3 lbs more. Def think BF helps since my diet is horrible. I'd like to focus on better eating, its a matter of planning ahead. And do a Zumba class, for the fun of it and to get out of the house. Now just need to get dh on board.

@happywigglecmb yes I have! I think I found it on YouTube or somewhere online and tried it out when I was pregnant. I remember it being pretty aerobic for yoga which wasn't what I was looking for at the time, but it was a good workout. Maybe I should try it again since this baby is out.
I'm down 20 lbs almost 9 weeks down. I was gonna join the gym but I just can NOT think of leaving L for more than 10 minutes so it'll be hard. I would like to go for walks with him but I live in Michigan and snow...

I lost 20 lbs in the first week and have since lost another 10 (6 weeks post partum). I've been waiting on my 6 week appointment to start doing anything, which is tomorrow. I'm looking forward to exercising but at the same time I'm not! I'm planning on doing some Pilates videos and starting jog.
I was going to eat healthy starting yesterday, but that got derailed in the afternoon when I started snacking. But yesterday was really the first day since the beginning of my pregnancy where I was like, "Maybe I shouldn't eat that because of all the calories." I'm going to really try to start eating healthier.
If the weather is nice, I'll start walking outside soon. Otherwise, after my 6 week appointment, I'll start working out. I think the early morning might be the only time of day I can squeeze it in - ugh.
I plan to start walking with LO in the stroller and hope to get back into riding horses again soon because honestly that is a really good workout/strength training if you do it right.
I haven't really done anything yet. I walked yesterday because it was 60 degrees outside, and I'll do that more once the weather is consistently nicer. I signed up for a 5k in April and I have a feeling I'll be walking most of it, but oh well. I was doing lots of strength training pre pregnancy, but I'm not sure I wanna go back to that because I was getting bulkier than I wanted to be. I wanna get back into yoga, too. I loooove hot yoga.

It's definitely more aerobic, which is why I think I like it. Regular yoga bores me. I like the fact that I'm using my body weight only to do aerobic exercises and yet still working on flexibility and such. Add the fact that it's only slightly over 30 minutes long for a session, and I was sold. I have a lot of her dvds but the yoga one is the one I like the best. Weirdo me actually found level 2 to be easier than level 1.
I did it pre-pregnancy and tried it once during pregnancy. I haven't touched it since but am really looking forward to doing it again once everything has seemed to healed
I'll probably stay doing a workout I used to do years ago. It's a combo of yoga, pilates, and cardio. Also going to start going for walks as soon as my ergobaby gets here.
Baby boy is a month old today and I've lost 31 of the 40 pounds I gained during my pregnancy. I haven't had to do a whole lot to get here though--basically just BFing, trying to eat healthy, and walking. Even when it's frigid, I can usually bundle him up enough to at least walk to the end of the street and back with him in the carrier (no way to use a stroller right now because of all the snow and ice).
I'm still a bit sore and have a couple of down-there concerns so I'm going to wait until after my 6-week appointment to make sure are all set before I start to do anything more strenuous than the walking to get back in shape. But once I'm cleared, I cannot WAIT to start my workout DVD's again--my absolute faves are Jillian Michaels' 6 Week 6 Pack and 30 Day Shred. I also have all of the Just Dance games for the Wii, as well as Zumba, and they are all amazing and super-fun workouts. OMG just the thought of dancing is making me happy! I also am going to start running again (slooooowly) once the weather starts to improve.

Yes I definitely need to start doing squats again! It was way too hard for me to do those while pregnant because I'm really clumsy and always lost my balance

I'm doing nothing. I was underweight to begin with and so now is the target weight the doctor wanted me at so I bought jeans that fit and making it a goal to stay fitting in them.
I only gained 15 pounds during pregnancy and only have 5 to go so I'm feeling very lucky since I'm terrible at working out. Our town just got a planet fitness so I'm considering joining for only $20 a month including tanning and massage beds so I don't think that's too bad. Hopefully going there a few times a week will really help tone up the flabby pregnancy parts of me.

I hear ya. I always had a nice round bum before and during pregnancy, and I just noticed that it has honest to god deflated. I have no bum/flat bum and I am so sad about it! I had no idea my bum that I have had my entire life could disappear after having a kid!! wtf!
