healz413 4 in 6 weeks?! Poor Ellis! But I guess she is handling it pretty well!
emejay I would definitely write a list! Plus I think it will give grandma more confidence!
Knitter sorry about the HFM! I hope they recover quickly!
We finished painting our house and I hate it. MH loves it but I'm like embarrassed to go outside. But we just took F for his first bike ride and he loved it! MH and I now have no excuse to get some exercise in each week with the weather being warm.
Maybe you'll grow to love it /it will fade a little over time?
Hugs kbeazly! I can empathize. I am so tired all the time. I feel like I'm constantly trying to prioritize what absolutely has to be done. All would-be down time is spent trying to prevent drowning (i.e. Paying bills, laundry, car maintenance). I work full time, and feel like there's very little time for me. I always choose sleep over fun or other self care.
We landed at 4 a.m. when the airport opened. Yeah, that's fun. Then the parking shuttle, empty, shut the door on us, so we had to wait. Then I couldn't find my ticket and had to fill out my life story to get my car. Got home around 5 a.m.
Delta? No compensation. No credit. Nothing. A weak apology. Weather issues I get, but not waiting two hours AFTER securing a plane and pilot to then call a crew that then had 2 hours to respond?! And just offering pizza at 11 p.m.? Screw you.
I always had good experience with Delta, until this. Almost made a Twitter account since they tuck your post away on Facebook.

Ya I made a twitter account when I wanted to ream American but I haven't actually tweeted anything yet. I did report them to Consumerist, and it has been interesting so far. Consumerist has tried contacting American but they won't respond, but they also contacted the FAA and now THEY are investigating American for unfair child seat regulations because of my issue with them.
Airlines suck. Except for Alaska. I love them. Does anyone else love a certain airline? I like Southwest and JetBlue too.

Maybe...I need to paint the garage and front door a color that matches so maybe that will make me like it. I'd post a picture on here but I get a little freaked out knowing there are still lurkers out there.

I decided to be brave and take the boys an hour away for a 2 hour steam train ride in the mountains. I'm kicking myself for not planning it earlier and taking the earlier train. This one is during nap time for the toddler... I hope that he naps on the way there. He will really love it, though, so it's worth it. I sure hope that S is up for an adventure today, too!

Finally allowed back in my house after 4+ hours. Hopefully our home inspection went well.
We killed time by checking on our new house, having brunch, and running errands. My gross, drooly teether managed to throw up a nasty mass of mucus right in the middle of Bed Bath and Beyond, so that was awesome. Luckily, I'm pretty much always prepared with something to clean up messes, but totally could've lived without that experience. DH was borderline horrified.
Both of my littles have hand foot and mouth disease Lily is just getting over it now and it didn't really phase her but George is having a hell of a time.
Up with screaming pretty much every 1.5-2 hours. He's a newborn again and needs to nurse constantly. I can't figure out if he's having that much of a harder time than her or if it's just a man-cold.
Sad face we had to stay home from the babywearing meet up yesterday.

Asher's teething and got a few coming in and we had the nasty mass of mucous at a friends house this morning. His nose has been a faucet too.

Dani's nose is awful too! She has also learned to stick her finger up there, so that just spreads the snot around. It's really fantastic. Her teeth just broke through overnight, so I'm hoping we're on the tail end of this round. I'm just glad she didn't throw up at the restaurant during brunch.
Thanks for the support ladies. You're the best. emejay, there's not too much I feel I can do about it at this point except keep my chin up and head above water. We are down 3 lawyers so a lot of it is just a reality that no one can change. Also, it's not an environment I feel I can raise it with the powers that be. It wouldn't go over well and I'm pretty sure would be pretty damaging to my career in the long-term.
Operation Steam Train was a success! Lewis loved riding the train and seeing the old engines. He was bummed that he couldn't climb on any of them, though. You can imagine my immense joy that they both napped there and back (1.5 hours total!).
Trying to get Z down to bed so I can head out to a retirement party for my mom's cousin's H. Z is so tired, but resisting. It's also warm in his room but the stupid outlet his AC unit plugs into isn't working for some reason. H thought he fixed it about a month ago when he installed a new outlet. But guess it didn't fix it. I have a feeling we are going to have to call in a professional to look at it. Drawback to an old home.
One of the spec homes I like is for sale for $30K more than the house we're building. DH would never go for it, but I'd buy it in a heartbeat. It's the exact layout that I originally wanted, but they weren't custom building any in that style so we couldn't build one. Womp womp. Guess I'll start apartment hunting.

MH has been watching Layla all day while I overhaul our upstairs. I cleaned EVERYTHING, have bags to go to goodwill and threw out three full garbage bags. I even started packing all our books and random things from the upstairs that we won't need before we move.
This must be adulting, thinking this was my perfect way to spend a Saturday.
Sucess! H & I opened our pool without a hitch. It's a bit murky but nothing a good vacuuming won't fix. My mom came over to help with the kids. It almost didn't happen since it down poured for a bit, but by the time we finished eating lunch it stopped.
Knitter, sorry about HFM, it's awful. M was an inconsolable terror for 48 straight hours until the fever broke. Then it was generally clingy/fussy for a day or two. Hopefully no one else in your family gets it!
kbeazly, I'm sorry you're having a rough time. Vent away and don't feel like you can't post. That's what we are all here for! I feel you on the work life struggles. We desperately need to replace two lawyers but all the partners say is for me to "dig in."
Where is the in law thread when you need it? We got here at lunch and my MIL has been treating me like crap since we walked in.
1) In response to discussing A's 5:30 wake up times, tells me "well that's because you're starving her!!" Yes, my 90th percentile child is starving and I should be waking her up MOTN to feed. F right off.
2) In response to mentioning that I had applied for a job, she says "oh I thought you were refusing to work while you lived in xxxx". Well, yes. I wasn't planning to take some random job outside of my field which I have studied in for nearly 10 years. But one came up in my field, so how about that.
3) Hasn't shut up about my nephew. Anything A does is compared to him. Anything and everything. Makes passive comments about how open my SIL is to suggestions and pointers about parenting. It was this point I started drinking.
4) Has called A by my nephews name repeatedly. When corrected, she says "oh I just miss my little dude!" Ok cool. Don't worry about enjoying time with the granddaughter 2 feet from you.
5) Has made a point of lecturing me on the importance of playing kids music and suggested I may be delaying A's development by not playing kids songs on a 12 hour YouTube loop.
London hugs. My MIL also tells me, "you should really be playing him music. It is good for his development!" Oh really?? Do tell me! Should I also be reading him books and talking to him?

We lurve Delta
ETA for domestic... All the European airlines are better than US airlines
cocopuff, yes! To the "time to dig in" comment. It was suggested I "warn my husband" things were going to be a bit crazy for me in the next few months (cue smarmy partner laugh). Guess I should also warn my BFIng baby that his nursing before bed routine is a 50:50 crapshoot.
