Yes, happy toddlers and hot coffee to all!! I'm watching my 7yo niece today and she loves B so it's been great! Only downside is I found a splinter in his hand this morning trying to get him to sit still while I use tweezers was not working. I've been putting neosporin and hoping it works itself out, but I guess if it doesn't look better tonight, Mh will hold him down and I'll pull it out. Any other tricks I'm missing let me know! Hope everyone has a good day!

Soccer game late last night and my sore legs didn't let me fall asleep until 12:30. I am so tired. Three weeks left of school. I am sick of my kids ?. I hate saying it, but some of them are just jerks. Today, I'm doing review for their exam tomorrow and they're literally not writing anything down. Literally giving them answers. It is so frustrating.

reginaphalange3 GL with the splinter! I have no advice there. shannjohnston hope the day goes fast and your legs let you sleep well tonight. I'd probably be sick of the kids too.

This weekend was so busy! I'm looking forward to a more chill week this week. LO is being such a fussy baby this morning which is annoying because I'd really like to clean up the house a bit. He doesn't have a fever, but has seriously been on the boob like 6x already today. So maybe teeth or a growth spurt? Who knows. I'm hoping to go on a run here in a bit once my breakfast digests more.

Lifehacker just had an article about this. The AAD recommends using tweezers if any part is sticking out and a needle if it's fully embedded. Here's the link to the AAD's directions: www.aad.org/media/news-releases/how-to-remove-a-splinter I've also heard you can use a banana peel to remove a splinter but have never tried the method myself.
I found someone to donate my freezer stash of milk to. I am so happy that someone is willing to take it and I will actually have space in my freezer again. Got in to work early today with the hopes of getting done early. Hoping it actually works out that way.
reginaphalange3 soak his hand in warm water, like in the bath. Then you can actually put a baking soda paste. Sometimes that enough for it to work itself out, otherwise you can use tweezers after the bath.
shannjohnston bless teachers. Three weeks into summer break and I'm sick of my own children! Such a tough job, seriously. You are my hero.
BabyStandish I hope he chills out for you. Sounds like what we've been going through over here. Driving me crazy!
@alexipodes that's awesome!!! That is the nicest thing. I never had much of a stash this time since she wouldn't take a bottle. I bet you are saving that mama a lot of heartache.
@outcrazynavylife you are doing the 21 day fix again?! Tough lady!
I have an exam today and then trying to purge baby toys. We have way too much stuff and far too little space. LO is a cranky butt but my H is home this morning until he goes in at 3p, so hopefully I can get some shit done.

kcrus I am! I loved the first one so much I signed up to be a Beachbody coach. So this is my first challenge group that I'm running so I'm doing it with them
Just got caught up on all the weekend threads! Loved seeing everyone's lo's, looked like everyone had a good weekend.
Camping was awesome! Everyone had a great time. Even though it was super hot, we ended up with sunny days and no storms! I know a few asked- we did tent camping. Dh and I had an air mattress and we had lo in a pack n play with all his necessities- sound owl, his lovies, etc. For bedtime we just ended up keeping him up late, until the campground quieted down a bit. He wasn't super cranky and was so tired he fell asleep quickly. For nap he ended up falling asleep while dh was holding him so we laid him on the tailgate in the shade while dh sat with him. It was 90° that day so our tent was waaaay to hot. The tailgate nap worked out well. We had a portable high chair that you can clip onto tables and that was awesome for when we needed to keep him contained. Lo's favorite things were swimming in the lake and playing with the water spigot. We had 2 other families that went with us. It was fun to see the kids playing together and nice to have adults to talk to and keep an extra eye on the kiddos.
Today I'm working my way through the mountain of laundry leftover from camping and last week. We got a lot done yesterday, but then I had to go to my friend's LuLaRoe party (totally got some leggings, they are the softest things ever!) Dh and I barely made it through GoT. Took lo to storytime at the library this morning. There were actually a bunch of lo's his age and some nice moms.... Maybe they'll turn into mom friends?? He was exhausted when we got back- fell asleep eating lunch for the 1st time ever, pooped after I laid him down, got some weird second wind and fought nap, but now he's finally down. Whew!
reginaphalange3 I bet B loves having a buddy to play with! Good luck with the splinter- I remember my parents using tweezers and I was very over dramatic about the whole process. shannjohnston my friends that teach high school were complaining about the same exact thing. Hang in there! BabyStandish hope you get a nice, chill week! @alexipodes that's awesome! Win win- more freezer space for ice cream and you helped someone out. ourcrazynavylife props to you for becoming a coach! And yay for finding a contractor! Hope the rest of this process goes smoothly for you guys. Are things better with YH today? kcrus good luck with your exam and the purge! And re: breastfeeding- we slowly dropped sessions with lo, I think I dropped one session per week until we were down to motn and morning. He was already used to getting a bottle from dh at bedtime so we just mixed BM and wcm until it was just straight up WCM. The last session I dropped was the morning. He was nursing shorter and shorter anyways and one morning he just straight up refused. That was when I ended it. I didn't want to keep going back and forth between nursing and not. He asked a few more days after that, but I just distracted him and he was fine. We did end up doing bottles of wcm before nap and bed... and I know we need to drop that soon but I'm scared. Kid loves his bottles. Anyone dropped them successfully yet?

ashlantic I don't know if they're necessarily better but he's at least in a better mood. He went out surfing Saturday & Sunday which always makes him feel better.
He's just wicked stressed out about wanting to get out of the Navy and unsure of being able to find a job that he likes as a civilian and giving up the good money that he makes now. All that stress then prompted him to say he was stressed about TFAS. So that of course upset me. I still haven't got a clear answer back from him if we are still trying or not. I don't really know what's going on.
Sorry for everyone dealing with cranky babies. Hope their frowns turn upside down! ashlantic so glad you guys had a wonderful time! Sounds like you were very well-prepared. I'm chuckling too bc my Baby H would also have been all about the water spigot, to the exclusion of everything else. kcrus, I am feeling great, thanks for asking!
I'm out in western MA for depositions today. The first one ran late so I am only now sitting down to lunch (2:15) and I was soooo hungry!! Fortunately I now have a BLT with goat cheese in my mouth and baby is doing a little happy dance in my belly
Snuck out to get a pedicure- <warning first world rant here> and the pedi lady only massaged one leg. When I called her out, she freakin yelled at me and then started talking shit I'm Vietnamese. Listen lady, I get about thirty minutes a month to myself and you aren't going to ruin them. I know I sound like a big ass baby. Don't care. Still didn't get my massage. Eff that.

This has been a crazy Monday. I can't wait to go home. Leo woke up at 3ish and couldn't fall back asleep until almost 5 am. He tossed and turned, get quiet and glassy eyed, and then be wide awake trying to get off the bed. I felt bad when our alarm went off and I had to wake him. Took him to DC and managed to lock myself out of the car. I was so frustrated I cried. I had an 8 am appt with the OB and of course, missed it. I spent about an hr at the DC, hanging out with Leo. It was cute seeing him play in his room with the other kids. At one pt he was running around with the 3 little girls screeching happily.

kcrus, Doing well, thanks for asking. I figured out what happened Friday. I ordered chinese for lunch and didn't realize there was these tiny shrimp in my rice. I'm allergic to shrimp. Luckily, my reaction was to throw up after only a couple bites.
ourcrazynavylife I'm sorry, that sounds incredibly frustrating for both of you! I hope you get a clear answer soon. dashook the water spigot also had rocks around it, so really nothing else could compete. He kept asking us "wawa, go? Mo wawa!" That sandwich sounds good! kcrus wtf, who only does one leg?? I'd be pissed too. littlelion I'm glad you're feeling better and that it didn't turn out to be the return of MS. Sorry for the rough night/morning!
Back from camping and rafting. Had a blast. I couldn't raft the first 2 days, but my body let me the last day! We flipped our boat (FIL was supposed to go center and hit a huge hole on the right instead) but all that was lost was sunglasses. We tent camp as well, but LO stayed in town with MIL in a nice AC hotel room. Went to target today, got new sunglasses and a pool for LO. Of course, thunder storms decide to roll in. Thanks mother nature. DH flew to SC this week for work. I'm so tired, my coffee is not working. I hope LO isn't too cranky. She's been having a hard time napping and it's killing her normal sweet disposition from afternoon to bath time.
kcrus boo for cranky babies! I hope your pedicure ended up going ok- call her out for sure!! ourcrazynavylife yay for you for another 21 day fix! And yay for the contractor! You will survive. It's tough but you figure it out! Lots of baby gates @alexipodes I think that's awesome that you were able to donate shannjohnston I hear you on being sick of your students, we get out a week from tomorrow and my first graders are so done. reginaphalange3 poor B! Were you able to get it out yet? BabyStandish we are just coming out of a tooth and a growth spurt at once. Sounds like how L was acting ashlantic cute camping pics!!!! ashlantic I always forget you're local to me littlelion I'm sorry hope your day got better! raven the witching hours are the worstttt. Glad you had a good weekend
AFM, I bought a yoga pass to a beginners class starting tomorrow night! To be honest, I've been having a really hard time lately and I've been seeing a therapist for about 2.5 years now since my miscarriage and my dad's sudden death. I've been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and meds are really not the way I want to go right now even though I may need them in the future. I've been incredibly unhappy lately. I'm hoping that doing something for myself and my health and mental and physical well being might help a tiny bit before I decide my next steps.
sgio7485 I'm glad you are doing something for yourself. Creepy internet hugs, mama. It's really hard being a mama and struggling with loss. Thinking of you.
raven glad you were able to go rafting! Good luck while YH is gone. Hope your lo gets back to a good nap schedule! @sgio7584 I'm sorry you've been having a hard time lately. I hope the yoga helps. Big hugs to you!
Omg bedtime meltdown central over here. When I try to rock her she says MUK MUK for milk but she's not BFing efficiently. Doing a shallow rapid suck and man handling the boobs thing that immediately is giving me serious heebie jeebies. I can't. Can. Not.

That was our bedtime too. I finally put her down and told her peace out. She screamed "Peeeaaaacccce!!! Peeeeeeaaaacccee!" For fifteen minutes and then just passed out on her face. Come on, kid!
