Morning ladies! I know this has been discussed before but I can't find the info. How did you identify all the stuff your kid brings to daycare? Did you put his/her name on every piece of clothing?
Thanks for asking! I was wondering the same thing!
Also - How many diapers at a time do you bring?
Asher has a bag of his things for the week - extra clothes, wipes, diapers (I put in about 45 diapers for the week and always have extra), puffs, mum mums, butt paste, bibs, blankets, binkies, etc. We bring milk/purées/small cut up food everyday. We don't really label but there's also no other kids his age - the rest are toddlers, so...
And the AC just went out. It's 102 degrees outside right now. I'm ready to cut someone...mainly the person who sold us the house last year without telling us how shitty the unit was and the person we paid 1300$ to last Summer to fix it.
txshep I am so sorry, that's infuriating. I think it's obscene what banks tell people they can afford. We bought a house that was $450k less than what the bank approved us for. And, like you, we are super conservative with calculating what we can afford every month. We ran the numbers and knew we could still afford our house is mortgage rates quadrupled, or if we were living on one income (which we will be soon!). It's just irresponsible otherwise. And I get the sense this problem is more pervasive in the US than Canada. I have never heard of a zero-down home purchase. The minimum here is 5%, and you have to pay extra mortgage insurance if you put down less than 20%.

It is a massive problem in the US. We even have close friends who got an approval from the bank and were like, "Hey! We can spend up to this amount!" NO. They were asking us for advice and we told them to not max out their loan, but they didn't listen. Now they have a big house without any furniture in it. I guess some people's desires for bigger/better things trumps their desire to have money in the bank.

txshep I'm sorry those buyers wasted your time, especially after they rushed everything.
I thawed the last bag of breastmilk today. I didn't expect it to make me emotional, but it was harder than I thought it would be. I went out and bought a test to poas this weekend, but thank goodness AF showed up this afternoon. I thought I was going to be ready to try in the next few months, but now I'm having my doubts. Being a few days late made me realize I'm not ready right now, sorry sandj918.
txshep urgh how annoying, but sounds like a blessing in disguise? Fingers crossed you get another offer soon!
emejay I was expecting giant baby's measurements to be higher - only 2 inches longer than Rafa - although maybe that's more than it seems?!
Tomorrow we leave for a week in Houston & then Baltimore, I have 17 houses to look at on Thursday & Friday. I hope we find something we like that is actually gonna be available when we're moving?
Last week I submitted my paperwork to become a Lularoe consultant! Yes, another one here!! It'll be a couple months before I get my inventory but I'm super excited to make this into a legitimate little business for myself!!

I assume you will be calling the company that "fixed" it last year to redo their shitty job? I'm mad for you.

Ah yes, we did try to reach them. They're out of business...go figure.
Well the splash park wasn't open so we ended up here!
It's not my favorite beach that I live near, but with the kids and no H it's the easiest in terms of parking, amenities and it has a playground. The kids had a blast! Especially DS he was running in the water like a mad man! Val napped while we were there & my cousins son did too so I got some one on one with DS! It was nice running around & splashing with him.
Today our debts are officially paid off! No more credit, student, medical debt to be had. We still have our mortgage and H's car lease but otherwise clear. That's like $60,000 paid off in 3 years. I'm so proud of us, and now our payments can truly go to buying a forever home. Now to a goal of $80,000 in three years lol.
Holy shit. The AC guy came out, got it working and as soon as he drove off it stopped again. We called the company to see if he could come right back but he already took another call and we have to wait for tomorrow. I'm so fucking pissed right now. I keep telling H we need to just bite the bullet and get a new AC unit. The one that came with the house is apparently super new and very complex, meaning if the smallest thing is out of balance it stops. The problem is this thing keeps going out and takes days to find out what's wrong.

Is it under warranty? If it malfunctioning this often you should ask for a new, different unit.

My hot tub died. I'm angry because I ache. Ordering a new electrical thingy. My H is handling it because I'm adjusting to having all 3 kids home at once and OMG.
To add to my frustration DH has a friend staying with us for a week with her dog and this woman is constantly bitching about everything! I'm trying to contain myself but I need her to leave. Right now she's watching cartoons and and despite DH telling her no dog on furniture, her giant ass dog is on my couch
London thank you thank you! Three years ago we were in a bad place, feels really good. Learned a lot about money these past years and being responsible.
mowkey SO awesome!!!! Can't wait for that day! We're almost there too
obie1680 so jealous! I wish we leaved closer to the beach
It's cool we have a bunch of different beaches most about 20 minute ride away. It's close but not too close! I don't think I could ever move to a place where I couldn't get to a beach.
We are in the 9 month sleep regression and it's exhausting. For a couple weeks now we have been feeding her to sleep (our own regression) to keep her from crawling and playing and standing in her crib for hours. But last night she decided she was going to wake up on the transfer and refuse to go to sleep. It took 2 hours tonight to get her to sleep! I tried to breastfeed her to sleep for about 40 min. (I got her to sleep and failed the transfer and then kept trying again.) Then she refused to feed anymore so we tried rocking. No luck. Then we put her in her crib. She just kept standing up and trying to get our attention. We kept lying her back down and patting she back. And so on and so forth. She'd been up since 2 so she was exhausted. But she wouldn't go to sleep. Finally we got her to stay lying down. And finally she went to sleep!! We are supposed to go to a movie tomorrow night after she goes to sleep for our anniversary but at this rate that might not happen.
****loss and living child discussed***** We're queer. I'm 34, have severe stage 4 endo, and both fallopian tubes are gone. My love ("Manada" 33) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tav.in and Ca.sey at 21 weeks gestation.

Does she wear a sleep sack? Freya tries to crawl around/stand up but can't do it well because of her sleep sack.
This has been a weird ass day. First, a turkey walks up to my front door which is highly unusual given that I live in a mountain state. Then an hour later my neighbor has it on a leash walking it around. Now there's been a warning that 3 8' pythons are on the loose. Again, super unusual for my area.
On the baby front, I'm convinced F will never get on solids. This whole, "food before one is just for fun" is completely false. Neither of us are having fun. I'm so jealous that everyone is having fun experiences with food. What happens if babies don't start eating food? He still wants to nurse 7 times per day, and that was a recent improvement from 9 times due to the Dockatot. He doesn't even like touching food.
hovenb - C is really similar. Minimal interest in food. She's still eating mostly breastmilk and formula. We can get her to take a couple bites of purees but I would guess she eats about 1 tablespoon of food a day. I don't get it. When DH and I eat, she'll grab at our food. So, we briefly attempted BLW but got scared away from it after a choking scare. We see our pedi next week and plan to ask more about solids. We still offer 2x/day but sometimes she refuses to eat anything. Definitely doesn't feel "fun" to us either!
