heybulldog56 I have snap and feel that they are more secure but I've never tried h&l and can see where that would be more appealing for the newborn stage. I believe (from stalking the cloth diaper board) that Thirsties h&l is one of the most popular and long lasting h&l. I use disposables at night but used fitteds for nap time. They would be a bit easier in the middle of the night as opposed to a prefolds and snappi.
We have a mix of both and always went for the h&l first. Easier to get a good fit when they're tiny. The only downside is there's the risk it can get dirty. And you have to remember to fasten to the laundry tabs for washing.

Thanks lakegirl and rinny! Sorry for continuing to ask questions but I am literally just sitting here at work with nothing to do until my meeting at 11:45. One more, but probably not last, question: what prefolds did you use? And what size: newborn or small? DS was 8.6 lbs and I don't want to invest in newborn size anything if new baby won't be in it for long.
heybulldog56 haha I'm having a slow morning too! 0 meetings today, which is super odd for me.
We used osocozy size 1s. They worked from birth up to about 16 lb for us. We still use them for stuffing the occasional pocket, though I loathe pocket diapers so we only really use them overnight.
heybulldog56 I skipped newborn and went right to small. DS is a string bean so I could snappi them for quite sometime. Now I just padfold them and haven't had any absorbency issues. ETA: I have the Cloth-eez brand from Green Mountain Diaper. The small have yellow edges.
We CDed DD until 9mo when her PT thought it was making it hard for her to crawl (she has hypotonia) so we switched to sposies at that point. We will CD this baby, hopefully longer than 9mo.
We use prefolds and covers for the newborn stage (although DD fit in the small covers until 5 or 6mo) then we have a combo of pockets and flips. We use disposable wipes and just put them then a small trash can in her room. DD has kidney issues and is prone to infection so I really like to get in there. We will probably do the same for LO, we have reusable ones but I just find the disposables do a better job.

We had one that we put in for DDs diapers. Before we went to full time daycare we had a nanny from Thailand. The first time she saw our sprayer she got SOO excited. She asked me where she could get one and went on and on about how no one else she knows in the US had one... She thought it was a bidet attachment. I felt really bad when I told her we only used it for diapers lol.
