Well I was trying to do something fun for H for Father's. Nothing big but something. Except he hasn't told me his thoughts so I now refuse to rush around getting ready if he isn't going to communicate with me. We may to do a cider brewery or we may not - it's 2 hrs away.
DH is at sea but I sent him out with a card for the Dad to be and a card from the dogs (I'm one of those people LOL) He's treating himself to a track day where he gets to play at high speeds with his car. Not much going on today... going to the dump, going to Panera (treat for the dump... lol), and a brief walk with the dogs before it gets too hot! LOL
We aren't doing much for Fathers Day because MH has to work all day tomorrow plus this afternoon. But this morning we are going to take DS to a local farm where they are having their strawberry fest. Pick your own, good food, plus demonstrations with what they are terming "berry-loving animals." H and I are as excited to take him to it as he would be if he knew we were going to it!
hangry Happy birthday to your little guy! Two is such a fun age, or it has been for us anyway
Our BBQ is tonight so just getting ready for that. We don't have big plans for Father's Day; we might grill some steaks (or just eat leftovers!) FD always kind of sneaks up on me; I decided to get DH tix to a soccer game but I actually need to order them. Oops.

Whoch soccer game LizInFL ? H is a HUGE soccer fan also, I considered getting him too to either of the copa America games at Foxboro or in Philly but he was a dud and shot down that idea to work at the house.
Happy weekend ladies!! I've been MIA a bit but am finally getting caught up with life again so that is a plus! We have a pretty low key weekend ahead. Heading to the pool here in a bit with a friend and her kiddo. Then tomorrow grilling out dinner and having my dad over. Father's Day/Mother's Day are prettyow key around here. Plus fathers day always falls on my bday weekend so by husband has to share with me...luckily my bday isnalsonlow key:).
We just grabbed breakfast sandwiches and iced coffees. There was a pitbull rescue event going on in the parking lot - this local group that rescues, rehabs, and reintroduces pit bulls to adoptive families - they had a few of their guys there meeting the public, educating them, taking donations, info about their adoptive dogs etc. We spent entirely too long in the heat playing with these cuties. Celine will be jealous when she smells them on us later.
Now H is watching a YouTube video on caulking trim/moulding. This guy just keeps saying "caulk here, caulk there, caulk everywhere... Caulk caulk caulk caulk". Its mildly entertaining.
kleigh My H loves soccer, as well. We're first and foremost college football fans, but he played soccer in HS and college and follows it now. We have a team here, the Armada. We're getting one of the World Cup qualifying matches here, too, but as of the last time I looked, the tickets weren't on sale yet (that was my original plan and kind of why I've procrastinated). So an Armada game is my back-up
When we lived in KC, I gave H tickets to a KC Sporting match for his birthday and I think he thought it was the best thing ever, so I'm hoping to replicate that success!

Hi hi! Just arrived at my mom's and waiting to hear when is a good time to visit my friends newborn and then a different bbq later.
Tomor we are taking bagels to another newborn and then lunch with my dad, mh goes to a baseball game with his, and then may meet up with them for dinner. I got him stupidly expensive Lululemon running shorts that he loves and completely wore out. He dropped a not so subtle hint the other day. Still need to have j make cards for everyone though.

Happy birthday baby hangry! kleigh that is one of my fave snacks but with apples instead of strawberries. Yum! At the cabin all weekend which has been fun but man it is HOT and no AC. DS is having a blast with his cousins and I'm trying to ignore my intense craving for an ice cold beer or margarita. Almost halfway right ladies?!
danib If I could, I would happily send you about 20 degrees of our temps. Today was only around 80 and despite the humidity and rain, it was blissful! Back into the 90s later this week so we are enjoying it while it lasts.
Our (indoor) BBQ was a success...food was great, pie was a hit, kids kept each other entertained, and my girlfriends and I got to catch up while the guys manned the grill. And my house is clean, hooray!
L woke me up early. DH usually does early morning with her and the animals, but since it's Father's Day I got up. Already have gotten us dressed, fed the animals, took the dog for a walk, and got L and I a morning snack. Now we are watching My Little Pony. He might still be asleep. Making him eggs, turkey bacon, biscuits, and berry smoothie for breakfast. Tonight we'll have dinner at my dad's house. Who knows what we'll do in-between. Up to him.
I'm still absorbing the fact that we are having another girl. I was so convinced we were having a boy! But I'm absolutely thrilled we are having a second daughter.
Morning all! Happy Father's Day to the N16 dads and soon-to-be dads
DH slept late while B and I made blueberry muffins for our breakfast. He opened his cards and was pleasantly surprised by the tickets I ordered (this morning!) for the soccer game.
I don't think we have much on our agenda today; ordinarily we'd spend some time with my parents but they are out of town for the summer. We may go up to the pool and have lunch or something. Guess I need to put my new maternity bathing suit to use at some point!
Hi everyone! Was up early again with DS. We went to Dunkin Donuts to get DH coffee, a breakfast sandwich, and a donut, then brought it to him in bed along with his gifts. It was really nice
Now H is going into the office for the rest of the day. I'm going to nap when DS naps then my MIL is going to take him for the afternoon so I can get some bar studying done. Hoping H will be home early enough to have dinner together because I bought steaks to grill and ingredients to make a caprese salad. Last night he didn't get home until almost 1 a.m.
DS and I made breakfast for H this morning. H went for a long run and is currently at church by himself while DS takes an early nap. We're heading over to family this afternoon to swim and bbq. I'm hoping to convince H to swing by Menards so we can look at paint samples. I really want to get DS's big boy room set up sooner than later. Have a great Sunday!!

HFD to all the N16 H's! It's gorgeous in my neck of the woods and I hope everyone else is able to enjoy the sunshine today, too.
H is a huge car guy so I got him a detailing kit as one of his presents today. So now I'm sitting by the pool eating grapes and he's washing my car. Something doesn't seem quite right with that scenario, but it certainly feels pretty darn good!
sophiegrace, I think if he loved the gift and couldn't wait to try it out, that's not on you! LOL
I'm watching Single Dad Seeking... I'm so confused by these women!?! If you are dating a single dad and you know you are dating a single parent; I would assume at some point, you would have to interact with the child(ren)'s other parent.

I just woke up from a 2 hour nap! It felt amazing but I probably won't be able to sleep tonight... For Father's Day I made my H a "Future Daddy Survival Kit" I got the idea off Pinterest but I picked all the items based on what he likes. It turned out so cute! I can't wait for him to wake up! (He works nights)
Single Dad's Seeking... I think we're about to lose a potential girlfriend. She's totally attracted to the dad but isn't excited to be doing "crafts" for a birthday party, or the drama of meeting the mom. She did make valid points, one of which is, not everyone can just step into the role of being a parent. She looks young and I wonder if she really thought about what it means to be in a relationship with a dad or if she did this just to be on TV. They finally showed a girl who is really considering this before meeting the dad. Granted this dad is father of 4 but she told him she would have to discuss it with her family and will have to get back to him. Her words, "I'm not walking in to be a nanny!"

Happy father's day to the dads!
I just woke up from a nap. I need to finish up the laundry here and then head home. MH is at a game with his dad...his present is at home so we will get takeout and give that to him later. So far we tried to let him sleep in and then went for a walk so he could go running..which resulted in me yelling at him for taking the hidden key from the porch that we needed to get back inside.
We went to my dad's for lunch and for the first time this pregnancy I got pretty weak and had to sit down. I think it was my dad talking mortgages while making sure j didn't launch himself off the dock was just too much. I was find once I ate 3 helpings of lunch..
