txmommy14 I didn't get the memo that you're supposed to wait 6 weeks to swim... I just spent a while in the lake at my dad's house. Whoops.
Haha! I'm sure it's fine! They told me no swimming or baths, but the main reason I'm adhering to it is that I'm still bleeding (which is a little concerning), so I'm still wearing pads (pretty sure I've gone through several giant packs now!!)
After two days of DH working all the time and all my family being out of town, I'm beat. My parents and sister are back today and they came over and hung out all day, including cleaning up around the house and taking DS for a long walk so I could shower and relax. I probably should have napped but I couldn't resist that squeaky clean feeling! DH has this evening and all of tomorrow off, so I'm hoping he is helpful. He came home and immediately said he really needed a nap, but I resisted throwing anything at him. He doesn't know it yet, but the diaper changes are all him tonight! I'm struggling with where LO should sleep. He just doesn't seem to like the pack n' play. I might be projecting because I have trouble getting him down at night, but he doesn't seem comfortable in there. But I am so not ready to have him sleep in his crib in a different room and I know the bassinet attachment to the pack n' play that he loves to sleep in during the day is not meant for sleeping unsupervised.
Ahhh DS stuck several macaroni noodles up his nose this evening! I think most of them are out now, but there's at least one piece that I can't get out that I can see. Who knows if there are pieces up there that I can't see. I guess I'll be calling the doctor tomorrow to see if there's anything I need to do...
Ohhh I like that one and it looks like it'd be stronger then the foam one. Did he ever try to stick his fingers in? Do you clip if to the car seat?
He never tried to stick his fingers in there. We went through a few foam ones before we bought this one. I would clip it to the handle bar on the stroller.

If you really think he is uncomfortable and you want to keep him in the pack and play there is a real mattress you can buy.

I should probably start trying to get mine to sleep on a flat surface. I'm proud of her when she sleeps in a bassinet attachment to the pack and play because usually it's the rock n play unfortunately.

Did you try to nose Frida him?
Yeah I've used the nose frida and the bulb with saline to try to loosen some of it out of there. He also has kinda mediocre nose blowing skills, so I've had him do that. He's sneezed a few times, but no luck. Children are a blessing....
Well I'm definitely going to bring DS to the pedi to look at his nose since he's woken up several times crying and saying that his nose hurts. I did find one big piece of macaroni noodle on his pillow, so that's progress.
I'm sure that one day this will be very funny. I can tell DS, "remember that time that your mom was a million months pregnant with your sister and your dad was working and you thought that was a great time to shove macaroni noodles up your nose." I'm sure some day I'll laugh about this.
Today I let 4 day old DD nap on me. Now anyplace other than being held is unacceptable for sleeping. I know the two are likely not linked, but I feel like it's my fault. This is going to be a long night.
Solidarity. DH took the 9:30-12:30 shift so now I'm on baby rocking duty...

I'm still bleeding too but it slowed enough that I could do this. I probably made a mess but fortunately my bathing suit is black.

When my older sister was about 2 or 3 she stuck a cherry pit up her nose and had to go to the ER to have it extracted. The story lives on to this day. My poor sister, now 41 years old, cannot eat cherries in peace around any of our family members. Come to think of it, it's very likely my mother was pregnant with me at the time.
Hope your DS is okay and the pedi gets everything out without a problem!

I don't blame them... Warm, soft, they can hear that comforting, familiar heartbeat, Etc. Then we try to put them down on a flat, cold, firm surface to sleep. I can see why they object!

My H let me sleep until 3a and just brought me DD when she needed to feed. I feel amazing! Now snuggling the babe who agrees that beds are for fools. Hopefully DD1 will let H sleep in in the morning
Kevinmac I would ask your dr what they think about postpartum swimming. I was pleasantly surprised with my Drs recommendation.
frecklesnbrains I wouldn't worry. My dr is fine with swimming once bleeding stops or 3 weeks postpartum. As long as there are no complications this risk of infection is very low. He did say the cleaner the water the better so a large lake or private pool are preferable to a public pool or small pond. This was my biggest concern having a summer baby lol
Trying follow more of DD2 clues to eat tonight. She has been up a ton. DH drank quite a bit last night and has been growling everytime the kiddo wakes up. It is bugging the crap out of me for some reason.

bighair12 I'd be mad. Growling, really? And aren't you doing all the work, or is he doing all the pumping prep? Mine gets up with me every feeding and takes care of pump and bottle stuff, tell him that if he complains.

This is really the first night he hasn't been up for every feeding. So I am more jealous of him sleeping and me being up. Today is Father's Day so I will be nice for a small amount of time.

babyzebra I can see how it's not funny now...why does every toddler ever do this? When I was little I got a piece of tissue lodged so high a pedi got it out with tweezers. My co-worker's kid shoved peas up there, and was only discovered when said peas started to rot.
DD slept a long stretch after being pretty restless and fussy the few hours before bed. I feel decent but am still really hoping she goes back to sleep after this feed. Sometimes she decides to have an hour long party instead.
Woke up at 4:30am for no reason. Now Im getting angry that DH and DS are sleeping so comfortably and I'm not able to fall back to sleep even though I know I will be exhausted by 9am when they are ready to rock and roll. It's not their fault but it's not fair they can sleep and I can't!
