Is it possible to snap the back of the ergo/Tula while front carrying? I've considered asking strangers in the grocery store to do it for me but I don't like talking to people.

It is possible, but may depend on your arm length/flexibility. I typically loosen it all the way then just reach behind me, clip it, then tighten it. There are also several tricks for doing it on YouTube I believe. My experience is with the Tula.

xcrissx, I snap it first, pull it up and over both our heads and then snap the side straps in place and tighten. I never have the dexterity or arm length to snap on my back.
I've also only been using a buckle carrier for a month.
My husband puts the ergo on all the way bit with the side straps loose. Then he slides the Baby down the front and adjusts.
****loss and living child discussed***** We're queer. I'm 34, have severe stage 4 endo, and both fallopian tubes are gone. My love ("Manada" 33) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tav.in and Ca.sey at 21 weeks gestation.

tThe straps on my Ergo adjust up and down so I keep then high enough to be able to reach easily. I can move then down when I back carry to make it more comfortable.
I love see all the babywearing! I have a serious addiction guys, it's out of control.
So, ethical question for all of you, because I can't post this in any of my FB babywearing groups. I had a carrier made and after it arrived the fit felt off so I measured it, and it turns out it's the wrong size. I contacted the converter and she's super apologetic and is making me another in the correct size with one of her stock wraps. When we outgrow it and the one she already made fits, I will send the smaller size iback to her to donate to the charity she's affiliated with, or to a lending library. Anyway - she sent me a list of all the wraps she's got in stock to convert. She's being super generous to fix this at no cost to me, but I don't like any of the wraps that are an equivalent cost to what she's already made me. I don't want to take advantage of her but the ones I like are definitely worth more than my converted wrap. Do I pick the one I like best since she offered any of them? Or do I pick one that an equivalent cost, even though I'm not crazy about the options? I'm stuck. Halp.
So DH is lending his sister our ergo for a trip and plans to use an original baby bjorn for M. I keep telling him that the bjorn isn't good for long wears because of the narrow crotch. He typically wears her for 2+ hours at a time.
What else should I be concerned about? I'm expecting her to hate it since it looks uncomfortable for a 19 pound baby, but but who knows.
mandy522, I guess it depends how much more the one you like is? If it's not a terrible difference, I'd ask for the one you like. The worst she can say is to pick a lesser expensive one. But definitely leave good feedback for her and try to otherwise promote her business, assuming you're otherwise happy with her work.

It isn't unsafe (as long as he is only doing front carriers, you can't back carry safely in a narrow based bjorn), I just think they will both be uncomfortable in the carrier for that long. I couldn't wear our bjorn with DS1 for much longer than 20-30 mins once he was about 15 lbs. The weight distribution just killed my back.
The wrap I converted is a Gira that is apparently somewhat sought after (but I got a crazy deal on it). She wants me to keep it, so my thought process doesn't entirely make sense, because it isn't like we are trading wraps. I just don't want to take advantage of her. Like I converted this very normally priced wrap and then scored a free handwoven because she made a mistake and is making it right. She has a big stock of scrap but she prices her carriers accordingly so if I took her up on the handwoven I feel like it's a lot more money out of her pocket than if I pick one of her Giras. Does that make sense?
I love so many of the tekhni patterns Knitter but they feel so weird to me! Almost plastic-y. I can't get past it.
Awesome RS!!
I looooove repreve!! It's so cushy!
They do have a ton of cotton and a few silk blends as well.
Oh, I know. My first tekhni happened to be repreve and I was kind of squicked out at the feel, and by the time I realized they had others, I was fully invested in Didy. I have a couple other brands, but for the most part one brand at a time is overwhelming enough, I don't need to go down another rabbit hole
ugotstarbucked I just got my first pavo (fable) and it’s really nice! So much thicker than I’m used to but very cushy. I can’t wear it in the heat, though, I’d die.
I love the tekhni prints too but realized I'm not a wrapper so I've been looking at various wrap scrap things like bibs/wallets/etc.. If only I knew how to sew I could make exactly what I want!
