I haven't actually gone to sleep yet because I decided to clean the kitchen at 11pm. And do laundry, pick up toys, etc. Recovery from Daddy's Day Off. Later I'll be planting stuff in the garden, letting the big kids help grandpa paint a dog house, teaching a ballet class, and going to a dinner mtg (free Italian!). DH had a nice Fathers Day, but is frustrated with his family as his dad is skipping DD's recital this week in lieu of playing board games for a guys' night that DH tried to orchestrate, but now can't go because the date got changed and he has to watch both boys during said recital.
We're going to the zoo! Last time I went to a zoo I was about 12. H doesn't know whether he's ever been to a zoo. L loves animals so hopefully it'll be a success!
We sang the Tom Paxton song to her all day yesterday (Daddy's taking us to the zoo tomorrow). She was dancing along with it by bedtime!
This is the last of the birthday festivities, but at least it'll be a four day week.
Sorry for all the sleepless nights! I slept, but had the weirdest dream that DS had ring worm or some other weird parasite. It completely freaked me out. Like, this morning I looked his leg over twice to make sure it was a dream. After DS being such a crap sleeper that I didn't dream much, I've forgotten how weird my dreams can be. And that's not even a pregnancy dream - those got off the charts crazy/weird/vivid.
It's super hot and humid already here today. I'm waiting for the air in my office to start helping (it turns off over the weekends), and seriously thinking I should have stopped for iced coffee instead of making my normal coffee. Or maybe I should buy some of the iced coffee K-cups. Either way, sad the weekend is over, it was a great one. When H left for work this morning, he kissed DS and said, "thanks for one of the best weekends of my life, buddy." Awww.
We had a really busy weekend. Friday night we took B to the fair. Saturday we watched the parade and tractor pulls. Yesterday we had family photos and a family supper. I am exhausted, thank goodness I have today off. I am going to pick up DH's Father's Day/Anniversary present today! I can't wait for him to see it. Other than that B and I will just hang out and probably clean the house.

First day back to work after a week off, boo. And I forgot my Chapstick. Double boo. But I sure did get McD's breakfast this morning. Sometimes you just need a hashbrown:)

erbear It's a good thing you're back from Cleveland, because it was CRAZY here last night. The Cavs winning the NBA championship made this city insane (in a good way). Lots of happy people around here today. @scoop Fingers crossed for a quick class. My H once had an instructor who was super intense and made them run from room to room to save their "victims". He came home all sweaty and skipped the gym that day.
OK now that I have calmed down some I can contribute.
Last night, at 4am, our shower caddy came crashing down and woke me and DW up in a panic. I thought it was a bear attacking the window trying to get in (WTF). After that neither of us could really get back to sleep. Looking back, I wish I used that opportunity for some MOTN ST. Oh well.
HOT day ahead of us here. I only need to leave my building once for a meeting at 10am so that's good.
Pizza for lunch for employee appreciation week, score!!
...do you live in a bear-infested area? I feel like the answer to this is no...

It is super hot here today so we'll probably swim in the baby pool we set up for DD yesterday. Speaking of dreams, I had one last night that there were 2 alligators living under the steps leading to the front porch and they started chasing DD and I. I need to stay away from Facebook for a while.,
blueskiessmiling I'm also glad we were gone! Although I imagine where we were staying wouldn't have been too bad. The hotel lounge was probably packed, though!
I know virtually nothing about basketball so I don't really care...except good for Cleveland for finally winning something!
Also blueskiessmiling we never went to Mabel's since downtown was a mess for the Indians game, so we went to the winking lizard and then tommy's yesterday, which is apparently super popular as well. We kind of stumbled upon it!
M is still sleeping and it's starting to freak me out. Usually she is up by 7:30 at the latest because DS and DD are soooo loud, this morning was no exception. Anyone else get worried when their LO sleeps longer and deeper than usual? Or am I a crazy lady?
I'm always just concerned she's getting sick, because then I know I'm in for a week of horribleness.

I've never been to Tommy's, but I do love Winking Lizard. We have several in the area, and they're always packed.
Im going to an outdoor, summer soltice yoga celebration tonight. 100 sun salutations followed by a potluck dinner. Good thing it's only going to be in the 80's today, as opposed to 100 lime yesterday.

Not crazy. DS out of the blue over the weekend started taking 2 1/2 - 3 hour power naps (only nap of the day, but usually he was still only doing 1 1/2 - 2 hours, even if he was only taking one nap that day). One day I got so freaked out that it had been a little over three hours that he was asleep, I went into his room to see if he was breathing for probably the first time since he was a newborn. Shocker: he was still alive, and I woke him up.
I forgot that my classroom is being used as a space to say goodbye to our principal today. Add me to the club that didn't sleep last night. Yesterday was really rough on me being my first father's day without my dad so I was a ball of anxiety and couldn't sleep. At least I don't have students today and there is coffee galore throughout the building!
Today is my last day of pumping but I realized that my kid probably isn't going to be weaned by the time I go to Vegas in a few weeks so I guess I'll still pump at home so he has enough to get through a week.
Other random--since O was born I've had weird reactions if there is water under my rings. I wore my rings yesterday while playing with him in a kiddie pool. Today, I can't wear my rings because of an itchy rash and I feel so naked!

lolno
Suburbs of Philadelphia. No idea why my brain went to "BEAR!!!!!".
The summer after H and I got married there was a minor earthquake that woke me up early one morning. I woke him up because "The bad guys are shaking the house." You know, our center townhouse that they were shaking with their ginormous arms? So waking up to weird sounds/sensations sends our brains to crazy places. /relevant?

We're still at the lake for this beautiful and hot day! Going to spend it on the boat and swimming, LO loves the water and is a little lake rat like her mama! We are about 45 mins from Cleveland and everyone on the lake last night was super pumped about the Cavs. Lots of wooing, horn honking, and music out on the lake. Sounded fun, but kept all of us up late. My brother announced to my family yesterday that they are having a baby! So pumped!! Oh and LO knocked my phone out of my hand, into the lake yesterday, so doing everything by iPad now. Have a beautiful day everyone!!

I'm sorry yesterday was so rough. Hopefully you can sleep tonight. I get a rash under my rings now too. I have started taking my rings off to dry my hands so it doesn't stay wet under them and it has seemed to help.
Weather looks a lot nicer last week, and for the first time in awhile we don't have much going on this week or weekend. And it will be our last quiet weekend of summer so I'm probably just going to try to coast by on as little as possible this week haha. I'm hoping to get some more RSVPs back so I can finish DS's birthday party shopping soon. His party will be at the lake with a sandcastle cake so I'd like to buy some sand toys for party favours!
Thanks to you posting this, Kristykristyleelee , and budders I've given in and installed the app. I foresee a lot of Starbucks in my future!
I just gave in since my new office has a starbucks two doors down.
I usually hit the ones in Targets the most, but occasionally on weekends will run through the drive thru if it's near where I have errands. But I think this app is going to be dangerous;) my T&Ps to your willpower with having one 2 doors down!
