Whelp, D possibly has his first case of pinkeye. It could just be allergies, but I'm keeping him and his gunky eyes home tomorrow since he already has his four-month appointment scheduled. Other than his eyes, he's a happy boy. It will be kind of nice to have some time alone with him without the toddler around. I just feel bad he barely made it four months before getting sick. These kids are little germ magnets.
Is there any way it's just a clogged tear duct? DD has had that happen like 3 times already and the doctor said it would most likely clear up on its own, and it has. If you are breastfeeding (sorry, I can't remember who is and who isn't), squirt a little breast milk in it. Massage the inside corner of the eye and down the side of the nose. Hopefully it clears up for you!

Thanks! It could be a clogged duct but he has been fighting a cold. I texted my pediatrician with a pic and she didn't seem too concerned and didn't think it was necessary to keep him home, but I already let daycare know and I don't want the other parents to blame the new girl for getting everyone else's kid sick.
ETA, I did do the breastmilk thing last night and this morning and thought it was getting better, but this afternoon, his eye was literally leaking goo.

This is so dumb. We are selling DD's stroller and I'm so sad about it. It's a city stroller and not easy to fold and transport in a car, and we already bought a double stroller for when we move from the city to the suburbs next week. And it was expensive so we want to recoup some of the money we spent on it. But DD LOVES her stroller! I can't justify not selling it though because she would probably only be in it for a few more months even if we were staying in the city. Why am I so attached to this stroller!?!?! Maybe we shouldn't sell it, lol.

How old is your oldest? What kind of single stroller is it? I always thought city strollers were fairly compact and easy to store. I've heard several moms of two+ say they kept the single for when they no longer needed a double or they were out with just one kid.

My oldest is two. It's an uppa baby vista, which does not fold easily and is very heavy. It was awesome for living in NYC, but I don't see myself loading it in and out of a car on a regular basis. We bought a city mini double because of the easy fold that we plan to start using soon. We thought about keeping the vista and getting the ride along board for it, but it is such a PITA to fold and get into the trunk!!!

You should get good re-sell value on it. I've never used the Vista. I love my City Versa. It's a little heavy, but it's mostly because I upgraded my tires for GT wheels. You could pick up a single umbrella stroller if you want something for a quick trip with one kid.

what year is your vista? Mine folds in two seconds and fits fine in our car. I LOVE IT!

Good vibes to all those in the house hunting/selling process.
We are currently house hunting and it sucks. Our savings is so tiny since I was out of work for so long and MH is not able to wrap around the fact that I don't really feel comfortable with draining it just to pay an FHA down payment. We're going to have to build the closing costs into the loan (yay...) so we have very little room to negotiate. But he is right in that we have been throwing money away in rentals for far too long and need to buy an actual house.
You might be surprised and be able to negotiate closing costs in the deal. We bought our house a year and a half ago and just barely got 15% down, so we had no extra for closing. We let our realtor know from the get-go that closing costs were critical for us. We ended up getting the sellers to cover them, which was awesome because it would have been $11K otherwise.
So dont lose hope. House hunting DOES suck- it's work and it's only fun once the keys are in your hands. But you can find something, it just might take some time. I'm no expert but I'm good at Google and did most all of the work on our end since H can't do stuff at work most days, so if I can ever help you just holler.

Thank you for the encouragement. I'm in no rush, but hubby is for some strange reason. lol
sending good home buying vibes your way today jewel441
Thanks! I am calmer. We (meaning the builder and I) came up with a plan if the appraisal doesn't come in. Basically H will still go down and do all the stuff, the house is done, and then if he can't close they will have to send us a mobile notary and we can close from here. It's a PITA but at least there is a plan and they are really trying to lean on the appraisers to get it done.
Also just seconding that everything is negotiable with the home buying and mortgage. I negotiated hard for our mortgage terms and got them down .25% on the rate and got them to waive a bunch of fees. NOTHING is set in stone.

chatterboxDanaScullyX thanks, everything is fine! DH was watching her and for the first time realized that you can't take your eyes off her for a second - she found his razor in the bathroom and sliced a bit of her finger off :-( trying to adopt the mantra of "it's a mistake, it could have happened to anyone, we will learn from this" to keep the homicidal feelings at bay.

Stories like this are why when the pedi yesterday told me she had a patient once who walked at 6 months I was like:
