I feel like a zombie today. Not enough sleep? I've got a big cup of tea so I hope that helps wake me up.
Taking L to an indoor play place after DH does his run. We will stay as long as we can stand it. She needs it. We also need to go get carpet cleaner. The stuff we have isn't strong enough for dog puke apparently and our bedroom smells like ass still.
Tonight DH is taking me to a hibachi place for dinner. We are celebrating the 4 year anniversary of our engagement (which was yesterday actually). It blows my mind a little that it's only been 4 years since we met and got engaged.

Morning ladies! I'm at home after my A/S since I took the day off. I could have easily done a work from home day but decided a day off sounds better. They had a little farmers market at my hospital so I picked up some fresh veggies and fruit after my appointment.
LizInFL I let H paint my toenails this weekend because I am in major need of a pedicure but we both don't want to spend the money because of the house, baby prep, hopeful for a babymoon, etc. Around here I can't find a place that doesn't do "spa pedicures" so every time I get one I walk out paying $70+. Anyway, the real moral of the story here is DO NOT let your husband paint your toenails, ever. These are an embarrassment.
My parents have been visiting for the past week so i was sad to see them leave this morning. But I will be happy not to have to do extra chores and such. They picked O up from daycare yesterday and he just ran right up to them. I was worried that he would be weird because it was out of routine, but obviously their visit made him comfortable again. I do wish we lived closer to family so I didn't have to worry how he would feel about all our family. But ah, such is life.

H and I decided to go to a last minute rep dinner last night with the wound center he works at once a week. All the nurses he works with there have either babies or children middle school age and lower. It was SO NICE hearing comments from women who have recently had kids. They know exactly what to say and what I wanted to hear.

So I'm watching One Tree Hill on Netflix and it just hit me that the mom is the voice of adult Nala on Lion King. I kept wondering why she sounded so familar but figured it was from the West Wing.

I can't tell. Are you being sarcastic here? Because I could totally seeing those ladies going either way with appropriateness.
So swamped at work today and all I want is coffee and sweets. Paging dashook I need to live vicariously. Did you spring for iced coffee and a cookie today ?!

Haha, no I'm serious thank goodness. I got two comments. 'You look beautiful' and 'your bump is adorable and perfect'. Then we moved on and talked about life and work and adult things. It was just refreshing from the comments I get at work from the employees who are my moms age and think 'omg your bump is huge' and 'I can't believe how big you are' are things I like hearing every single damn day.

Omg I can't believe people would say those things to you! 1) you look great, from the pics I've seen, and 2) haven't these ladies heard the old saying, 'If you can't say something nice...'?!

Honest to goodness I think that they think they ARE being nice.
I'm a bit relieved that you don't find it complimentary either because everyone seems butt hurt when I'm not all squee!! I know! Look at me and my hugeness! I'm 20 weeks...this belly is just getting warmed up.
All these global stickies are making me crazy. There are just so many. Gemstones? And tevas? Really? And is the bb thread really going to be stickied for the entire season?
Glad to hear about all the good scans today! ClassyMrsA happy engagement anniversary!
kleigh I did not get an iced coffee today, but I did eat half of a giant chocolate chip cookie. I had intended to save it to have with a coffee but was forced to give that up and scarf it down for "lunch" because I was stuck in a 5+ hour deposition and the old male attorneys apparently had no fucks to give about that, and we never took a lunch break I didn't get to eat until after 4 when I finally got home.
I'm actually feeling really awful and down after the depo today.
**possible triggers**
It is a really sad case involving a fatal car crash and all of these ancillary issues about substance abuse, depression, sexual assault, and child services came up as well, which I guess I wasn't totally prepared for. We had to keep taking breaks because the deponent was crying too much, and I felt like crying several times as well. Just awful.
Edit because I hit post too soon--I'm going to pick DS up from daycare in a few minutes and I can't wait to give him a big huge hug.

Omg I hate when they do the BB global sticky. I don't watch that show and seeing it up there all day drives me nuts.
dashook I'm so sorry that you had a rough day!!! Besides the missing lunch which seems like the least painful part. You must have to see/hear all kinds of things and I respect and appreciate people like you, especially women, who put their emotions aside like you must have to and just take care of business from 8-5.

Guise.
H and I are working out in the garage and decide to put up our Facebook announcement. Little pup goes sprinting outside as soon as I hit 'post' so I ran after her thinking there was an animal. No animal, but a huge rainbow came out over our field. It hasn't rained all day. Normally I don't believe in signs, but this has got to be my boy giving me the ultimate hair pat right now. All the tears.
