O had his last appointment with the LC today. Home boy came in at 7lbs 11 oz, up from 6lbs 13 oz two weeks ago. We do not have to come in for regular weight checks any more!!! Still using the nipple shield, but she said that as long as he continued to gain weight like he was it was nbd. My nugget is finally starting to fit into newborn clothes!!!
DS has been squeaking and farting for the past hour. But less spitting up than usual! I'll take it. Now I've probably jinxed myself and he is going to start farting AND spitting up everywhere. My family is driving me a little crazy. They were over a lot the first week or so, helping around the house and visiting with the baby. It was really nice and I appreciate that they did that. The status quo is usually that we all hang at my parents house when we get together. Now that I'm two weeks in they want to hang out with the baby, but they've decided it is time to go back to the norm and I should be bringing him to my parents house. If they don't want to come over here, that's fine. But I brought the baby over two nights in a row, and it is kind of a process, and I'm still getting the hang of all this. So when I have multiple people calling and texting trying to convince me to come over like it is some breezy thing to toss the baby in the car and pop over... Not so much. Maybe when he isn't cluster feeding at random, and I can get dressed without leaking all over everything, etc. Please don't tell me what is easy for me right now and what isn't.
I'm glad your appointment went well and your OB cleared you lakecountrygal. I talked with my OB a few weeks ago about birth control options and I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the mirena. I've never had an IUD before and only have experience with the pill, so I'm a little nervous about the whole thing.
babyzebra I'm so nervous about it!! I read about the Nexplanon (it's implanted in your arm) and am pretty sure I could never do that and have it cut out every 3 years. I may read more about Mirena and go that route unless DH follows through and really gets a V done.

so awesome! Yeah, baby O! The nipple shield is my best friend right now, so also good to hear these thoughts from your expert.
Guys my OB/GYN cleared me for everything today. DD is only 5 weeks old but since it was an uncomplicated vaginal delivery he felt good clearing me today. I also start the mini pill tonight while I decide what route I really want to go since we are done.
Any thoughts on Mirena or Nexplanon?? I've always been on a pill of some sort or nothing so other than that I know nothing.
Mirena was great for me, had it for 5 years before TTC- I didn't ovulate on my own, so LOL, but I loved it. Going back on it in July (my OB wants to wait 6-8 weeks PP due to my csection) just in case my body decides to randomly throw me an ovulation bone.
This is so good to hear! I was just thinking about birth control options and I didn't think I want to do pills anymore. I think I will be going with the Mirena option instead! My OB waits until 8 weeks PP, so I guess I should get that scheduled.
I'm struggling big time today. C ate every 2 hours all night, and screamed because he was gassy in between each feeding. He just wants to be held or moving today. We've burped, we've bicycled, we've done the gas drops and gripe water, we've bounced on my knees, and we've gone for two car rides today. He's sleeping at the moment but I'm exhausted and I'm trying to get things prepped for G's birthday party on Saturday.
On top of it all, my MIL is on her way here. We don't have the greatest relationship and she's really good at saying the wrong thing so I'm really hoping that tonight goes well and I don't snap at anybody. Serenity now...
Oh soultrane I'm so sorry... Is there anyone else you can lean on for party prep? Sending you strength to deal with your MIL... Hopefully she is not too bad tonight.
Sorry soultrane, I've been there before, it's rough! Your party doesn't need to be perfect;)
I want to kill DH right now. The fucker shows up at about 2pm to "work" from home. When he got home, I told him the girls were up cleaning their room so they could go play in the sprinklers. My plan being, I can keep an eye on them while I clean, make dinner, take care of LO downstairs while they are no the back. I don't handle heat and humidity well (our back yard is south facing with no shade) and I don't want to take LO outside. What does he do? Sets up the f-Ing wading pool. I thought, ok he will watch them while he "works". Get the girls all sun blocked up & he says, "ok well I've got to get back to work". Leaving me to try and watch the girls outside while LO is inside. Fucker.

I'm hopeful that she'll help with some of the food prep and that she can help keep G entertained while we take care of everything else. I really just want to take a nap though and not have to deal with hosting people. It's just a few days though - I can get through it! And if not, I fully plan to have my first postpartum drink this weekend!
shoogars, I would rage. Can he take a laptop outside and watch them while he works?
He left. After I showed my displeasure, he got all pouty and said, "do you just want me to leave....I guess I'll just go work at Starbucks." To which I told him where his Starbucks gift card was. So he left. Which is good for him.
In other news, my sweet little 3 year old trouble finder, pulled the plug on the bottom ring of the pool after about 20 minutes. Oh darn. Love that little girl:)
Holy fuck these nursing cramps are no joke. Almost feels like labor.
Omg. Yes. I was dying and asked the nurse as it was solo worse than with DS1. They said it gets worse with each birth and is totally normal. I'm soooo happy to be done having babies now!!!

They will subside. I panicked a bit but after a few days they stopped happening. I told our pedi I was worried because DD2 wasn't eating as well as I remember DD1 but she said your milk comes in faster so she's probably filling up a lot quicker (she wasn't losing weight so she was obviously getting enough food). I was so engorged for 2 days I had to pump an ounce from each boob a few times just to get her to latch at all. I even went out and bought a nipple shield but she hated it and I felt like it was too big in her mouth and she was gagging on it. Maybe I bought the wrong size? Either way after pumping an ounce she was able to latch and I'm starting to even out a bit now. Not leaking as much milk and not in as much pain from engorgement. Hang in there mama!
Prayers would be greatly appreciated! Nora is having some jaundice trouble and currently looks like a glow worm in her goggles. DD1 is having a really hard time do I'm hoping Nora gets better and we can still go home tomorrow!
