My baby is one month old today. I'm a little sad about it...time just goes so fast. She smiled yesterday and slept a 5-6 hour stretch last night. It's crazy how slow the end of pregnancy goes and then how fast after they get here.
1 month already? It does go by too fast. I'm running on fumes today! Ds clusterfed from midnight to 3. He had gas so he was upset and just kept rooting and screaming. Finally fell asleep on me so I of course didn't sleep at all after midnight. We don't have any more family in town so reality will set it in today. Nap please

Soultrane - 8 hours is awesome!!! Hope it's the first of many!
Today C has a check up... I'm interested to see his weight. He's mid growth spurt I'm sure. Yesterday the only thing he did was sleep except to nurse and then be angry he was awake. He was 9 lb 14 oz at a nursing mom group I went to last week... He is growing too fast.
Also - those of you with the baby pics app - did you the one that is $2.99 or $6.99?
We have a pedi appointment this morning. I hope she has gained so much weight since Friday. Then an ENT apt to get her tongue clipped. Also have get toddler to day care. Today's my wife's last day home. How am I supposed to get them both out the door tomorrow? It'll be interesting. I see us all going in pajamas.

DS is 5 weeks old today! He fed this morning and then I pumped and then he wanted to be fed again IMMEDIATELY but there's nothing left in my breasts and he is SO angry with me! He was destroying my nipples so I gave him a pacifier but he keeps spitting it out and screaming. I'm guzzling water trying to replenish my supply, but at this rate I may need to raid my freezer stash and give him a bottle. Why can't I ever get the timing of this right?!?

I can't believe LO is almost a month too! It's going way too fast!!! DH and I were discussing the pool yesterday. We go to a huge pool party on the 4th and he wants to take M in. The pool is no chlorine (ionized). It seemed like everything we read online was conflicting. WWYD?
DD is 2 days old today! We were able to come home from the hospital yesterday afternoon, which was so nice. It felt good to sleep in my own bed. It's been months since I've done that because needing to sleep on my recliner. Belly sleeping is the best. Acid reflux is gone. Nausea and vomiting are gone. I just feel so much better.
DD is doing so well. I don't know if it's because I'm less stressed, but everything seems easier than with DS so far. She woke up every 1.5 hours last night and then had one 2.5 hour stretch. I'll take it. DS woke up 2 or 3 times I think due to blanket and monkey issues, but went back to sleep quickly. A little later I'm going to head out to Target with my Mom to get some things and get out of the house.
I had a dream I started losing my mucus plug. Maybe my dream will come true in the next few days. I need to go to Target today and get postpartum stuff like pads, underwear, Tucks, some dermoplast spray a friend recommended, etc. Any brands or kinds you all recommend?

Dermoplast is great, but they gave me a supply at the hospital. Same with the Tucks (which I didn't use). So keep in mind that they may give you some of this so you don't need to buy a lot. I used Always overnight pads. Granny panties all the way! Also if you'll be breastfeeding definitely get some nipple cream, not lanolin, and pack in your hospital bag. I like the Motherlove brand. Those first 2 days postpartum are the worst on the nipples.
Last night DH shared with our good friends that there is a good chance we will be moving out of state in the next couple of months. They did not take it well. We hang out a lot and are closer than we are with our families. They are heartbroken, as are we, but the move would provide us with a much better/more stable future. It makes me sad. DH won't talk about it now, the friend has been his buddy since elementary school. Our girls love each other. In pretty sure we will be moving.
Today is Baby's first dr appt. Hoping for all good news but things seem pretty good so in not worried. When did you guys first take baby to a restaurant?
Random- LO was born with dark green/brown eyes. How long do baby's eyes change color or isn't safe to say he could actually have green eyes?
DS was born with dark brown, nearly black eyes and they've stayed the same since. DH has brown and I have green eyes and the quick online thing said we had a 7% chance of green so I totally never expected my eye genes to show up!!
That's so tough shoogars, I'm sorry. I'm sure they understand that it's what's best for your family but they need time to grieve. I hope you all will be able to make some trips to visit them!
FX for your dream coming true, Kevinmac! Also, +1 for always pads. I haven't worn pads in 10+ years so I was very pleasantly surprised by how effective their super thin ones are!
AFM, today is DH's first day back to work. So of course LO had her first night of inconsolable crying last night. I felt so bad but all I could do was keep her on my boob.
I also have to venture out to the grocery store today. Idk why but I'm so nervous to take her out by myself!
bighair12 with all that you went through to bring her into this world safely, I'm just so happy she is doing so well!
Good luck today Stringy! FX this helps with the latching.
frecklesnbrains yay for 5 weeks! I feel like timing pumping is so hard!
Yay babyzebra!!! So happy you are home and finally feeling well!! And that DD is doing well!
Kevinmac fx your dream comes true! I didn't get any Demoplast from the hospital, so I was happy I had that at home. Take as much stuff from the hospital as you can!
shoogars that is so hard. You are doing the best for your family and I'm sure they will understand after they have a bit of time to process.
sandandsea we actually took her after her first doctor's appt. it was an off peak time, so we basically had the restaurant to ourselves and she was sleeping in her car seat with a cover on the whole time. Also regarding eye color, this may not be what you want to hear, but my mom said that I had gray eyes until I was almost three years old... The dr said they would stay and then overnight they went to a more hazel color. I think that is rare though! I hope his stay green!
carolinaheart I was SO nervous taking her out on my own for the first time! Just be patient (it took me like 3x as long to do everything) Good luck - you got this!
