I've got an OB check up this morning. They'll listen to the HB and do blood work for the panorama CBT test. We should know it about 2 weeks if everything looks healthy and if we're having a boy or girl. My MIL is going to watch our girls because H wants to go with me today. Then I'm hoping for a nap. This nausea at night is kicking my butt.
I was a mom zombie yesterday. Saturday nights lack of sleep hit me like a ton of bricks yesterday, apparently I needed more than a good nights rest Sunday night. The plus side I got to nap twice! The first nap with Val while she nursed and DS watched a movie. The second was during Val's afternoon nap and DS cuddled up with me on the couch. I loved every minute of it!!!
On a funnier note I saw my 3yo mount & hump my cat last night. Poor Butters had no idea what was going on DS had him pinned. I did manage to get DS to get off him while holding back lots of giggling.
Val is all over the place her new found love of army crawling is in full swing. Right now she is in the hallway playing with a ball, she followed her brother & the cat out there. She is heading for the kitchen so I need to grab her. I'll be setting up the baby gates down here soon! We finally lowered her crib last night too.
Cool & cloudy today and a new park opened around the corner from us so we might go check it out later.
A STTN! She was tuckered out, because life. We only had to bink her once. Of course, I'm not very rested, because I had to adult for two people last night. I was not going to tolerate H's temper tantrum over chapstick. Eff that noise. So, late night talk instead of sleeping. Good times.
On a happy note, A's eye checkup went great! Lazy eye is "gone," so no more drops, we just need to do a followup in 2 months to make sure she hasn't regressed.

J is home with back up care today. His fever was gone this morning. He woke at 4:30 whimpering.
What does everyone have their LOs sleep in at night? His room gets warm during the day (80 plus) but drops to 68-72 at night. He goes to bed early when it is still warm so I don't to overdress him.
Shit. I have a day-long work shindig on the same day as my cousin's wedding. In my sleep-deprived state yesterday, the date did not register with me when I said yes. Craaaaaaap!

28 hours until I can kiss this toothache goodbye, but who's counting? Our July is so busy, I feel like it's already over before it has even begun. Tons of visitors and travelling.
IKEA is recalling all the Malm dressers. We have 4 in our bedroom, I'm not sure if we should return and get the refund or what. The girls are never in our room alone, but I could see that changing as they get older. We harnessed their furniture but the layout of our room makes it challenging to do it in our room.
Also, the dressers are 5 to 7 years old and not in great shape. I'm thinking of taking the refunds and getting new pieces. It's over $400 in refunds. WWYD?

Val sleeps in a onesie. I have a fan on low in her room, she doesn't sleep well if she is too warm. She has her Vera Bradley blanket in her crib with her and will grab it if she wants it. If she wasn't a diaper Houdini I would let her go without the onesie.
I keep her Windows closed my neighbors let their kids stay up way too late and go outside. They tend to play on their driveway which is close to her window. I never get why people let their young kids stay up till 9:30 - 10pm! The kids are 3 & 5, I would lose my mind!
Miss G STTN last night! Naturally, Master R was up 10:30-11:30 or so for no discernible reason. He was just upset and needed mom cuddles. Dad was a poor substitute, apparently. These kids don't seem to understand that mama needs her sleep!

sandj918, I can't believe you're already at the point where you can find out the sex - I feel like your pregnancy is flying by! eliza040502, it's been triple digits here so when we put C to sleep (upstairs) it's pretty warm. He falls asleep in just onesie and then I slip his sleep sack on him at about 10:30p when I do a dream feed. Do you think it would be possible to get a sleep sack on him once the temp has dropped?
I ordered the Maxi Cosi Pria last night. I have no time to go find a store that has it to let me see how it fits in the car, so I just bought it and am hoping for the best. It fits into a MINI, so it should fit into my sedan. My lease is up fairly soon anyway, and I'll be switching to an SUV, so worst case scenario is having to deal with a tight squeeze in my car for another 6 months.
I ordered the dark pink one and during my color selection, noticed they also make the seat in black leather for $1500?! Who wants a leather car seat?!?! I have protectors in my seats just so my kid/carseat doesn't ruin the leather... why would I want the actual seat to be made out of the same thing I'm trying to protect?
charliefox, I know! It really is flying by. Granted they can tell the sex much earlier than in recent years but still. I feel like I'm going to be 40 weeks in no time.

I believe Peg Perego makes a leather one too. Insane! Could you imagine sticking a child into a hot leather carseat?

We've been night weaning Cal - by we, I obviously mean me...and is it still called night weaning if he drinks formula? Anyway, I've been keeping notes to make sure he's upping his day-time intake (and to force myself to offer solids because I'm a bad mom), and I just got super giddy typing in that he only drank 4oz last night (two 2oz bottles). In France he was up to about two 6 oz bottles per night.
There might possibly be a full night's sleep in my future.

If you can't anchor them, please take the refund. You never know when one of the girls will decide to wander.
We have one in our bedroom that is anchored and I'm still considering whether to take the refund. I think I'm going to intentionally try to tip it with all the drawers open and see if the anchor holds. I've been eye rolling at these recalls over the past few years because they've always said as long as it's anchored, it's fine. But now they're saying that they don't meet voluntary "free standing" criteria. So really, it is their fault that they're making an easy to tip dresser, not just that their customers aren't anchoring them.

As we were getting on our first flight, an elderly lady on oxygen at the front of the plane (who BTW we weren't even sitting near) said, 'Ugh - why would you bring a baby on a plane? I can't believe the airlines let them. How rude for the rest of us.'
She's lucky I had my hands full with baby and bags and coffee otherwise I would've flipped her off.

The more I read about it, the more I'm convinced we need to return the furniture. Glen agrees wholeheartedly. It's not just one line of dressers, they are essentially recalling every dressed over 29.5 inches in height. And they are giving 100% money back for those purchased 2002 and later, no proof of purchase required. And they will come to your home and remove the pieces for you at no cost. This is a massive recall and it's widespread applications makes me realize how unsafe it is. We have on set of drawers in M's room that is anchored but we will be returning that one now as well. It's all too scary.
Sorry IKEA - I'm off the shop for grown up furniture.

I think most of the recall of non-Malm stuff is to cover their asses. Any dresser made by any company should be anchored because it's a tip hazard. IKEA or not. The Malm dressers are just exceptionally prone to tipping.
Our email is out at work today. So half of my job I can't do. Gives me time to catch up here a little bit. They have been working on it since around 1am and at least 14,000 people company wide are affected.
Z slept well except a weird wake up around 8, but he went right back to sleep. I think his teeth are bothering him as they work their way down fully.
Happy Friday to me! I just need to make it until 5 and I'm off for a whole week! This literally has not happened since I was on maternity leave and never once before that. I'm super excited to lie in bed all day and relax. Or you know take care of my kids. But still a whole week. My sunburn from Sunday that I didn't think I had blistered and I can't wait to not wear a bra and a shirt all day long haha. Now to get through the mountain of work in front of me.

My mom watches C during the day. We let her know we are starting BLW and that we'd let her know what she could start feeding C as we got things figured out. So far, she's only had purees - fruits and veggies. We started BLW this weekend and she has puffs, carrots, avocado. That's it. My mom sent me a photo just now of her feeding C strawberry jello. I am not happy. I called her to ask what she was doing and she minimized my frustrations, said "it's sugar free, and she barely got any in her mouth anyway". I let her know DH and I are trying to be very intentional with what we offer and move slowly with BLW. I'm so angry about this. Am I overreacting?
