We are doing Paw Patrol theme. He loves that show and gets so excited when it comes on.
I have a huge Pinterest board of ideas. I'm making some banners and decorations so I need to get started on that.
We are having the party at our house. We are going to make it an outdoor party since we have a huge backyard. And we will rent a huge slip and slide (we did last year and it was a blast).
I have 2 months from the 4th to get everything ready....yikes! I need to get moving!

We'll be doing a party at home. I WANT to just invite my friends and family member that have little kids... but that won't work. So we'll probably just invite 100,000,000 of our closest friends and family.
We'll see how overwhelming 4th of July is. We've invited 60 people. but for her party, I'd be adding in some of my friends with similarly aged kids. Yikes
We are going simple with food this year. Last year H grilled hot dogs and we had a lot of stuff. This year I'm putting out a deli meat and cheese tray (with meat and cheese cut in the shape of dog bones), rolls, fruit salad, veggie tray, something sweet, and I might make pigs in a blanket or meatballs

I wasn't planning on doing a party at all, just a cake and a couple presents, no guests. But MIL just booked flights to come see us for his birthday, and birthdays are a BIG DEAL to her, so I need to do something. I'm thinking some animal/fish/bird/whatever creepy crawly he's into by then theme.
We will be having it at our house again, we have a pretty big yard and deck. It worked out well last year! Thinking probably Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme if she is still as obsessed as she has been. She also likes Paw Patrol too doglover31 so that is an option!
We did Pizza, different salads and apps last year, worked perfectly so probably do the same!
I don't think we will invite as many people as last year but who knows.

No clue on a theme yet. He love dinosaurs and Daniel Tiger and Trucks, so, no clue yet. We will be having it at our house. And side note - Netflix is going to stop airing Daniel Tiger July 1, so tomorrow!! Ugh.

I would love to do something but realistically we just don't have that many people to invite so we will probably not do much just like last year. It is fun thinking of theme ideas though. I haven't zeroed in on anything there yet either because he seems to like a lot of different things. We will see as we get closer I guess.
We aren't really planning anything. I was just thinking cake and such at our house and inviting our parents and siblings. I feel like we'll just do big parties on the milestone birthdays and when she starts having closer friends at daycare/preschool that she wants to have at her party.
My family is large, I think over 50 were invited last year and that was just aunts/uncles/cousins and a handful of family friends. I can't do that every year.
I agree. Starting next year, it's just cake with the grandparents. But this year, we're also using it as an excuse to have everyone over and show off or new house.

I saw that! It's on Hulu though so if you have that he can still see the older episodes.
You all are doing the most here with fancy themes and huge groups! I'm all--maybe I'll make some cupcakes from a box, and I suppose we could go to the zoo or something. That sounds like plenty. Or maybe his grandparents would take him, that sounds even better!
Yeah I mostly hate having to plan parties and entertain even though it seems like we do it alot but for her birthday it seems fun to me to do it at least at this young age. I think as she gets older it will be more annoying and less fun, lol
Remind me of this in early September when I'm pulling my hair out and completely stressing
