My parents roll in tomorrow, and DH is away all weekend at a bachelor party. DH and my parents love each other, but part of me is ok with the fact that I will have solo time with my Dad and stepmom. We are really tight and I miss having this kind of time with them. So that will be fun

Tired today. Both the big and the baby woke up at different points in the MOTN. I'll need extra coffee at work this morning. At least it's a long weekend coming up...
Me (37) + DH (39) BFP #1: DS born July 2011 BFPs #2,3,4,5: Four losses from Nov 2013-Nov 2014. Yeah, that sucked. BFP #6: 1/5/15 - Rainbow baby boy born 9/16/15
We made Mickey Mouse pancakes & I let DS put his own sprinkles on his. Well we ended up with a partially cooked pancake covered in hard candy!
I cleaned up the big pool, emptied & refilled kiddie pool, cleaned up breakfast mess & put Val down for a nap. Hopefully just hanging poolside today. DS is fine after his mishap yesterday. H took it better than expected he was really sad last night, but I knew DS was fine.
I was thinking a quick trip to target for a few things & Starbucks. My SIL might stop by after her baby's pedi appointment. It's like 5 minutes down the street from us, but I seriously doubt she will come over. She will most likely whine if she is here since I don't turn on my air conditioning during the day cause we can go out to the pool.
Z STTN! But he was up and ready to party at 5:30. I tried to bring him to bed in hopes he'd fall back to sleep. No such luck. So H took him downstairs while I got ready.
Still not sure what we're doing for the 4th. We normally go to H's cousin's house, but her mom (H's aunt) just came home on hospice care. So it's still up in the air if they will be hosting a small gtg. If not, our town has a big celebration, but not sure if I want to bother with the crowds.

Layla spent the night at my parents house so MH and I could both be at band practice last night to get ready for Canada day. I started this band when I was 17 and I'm still wearing the same kilt that fit me at 17, except I haven't worn it since November 2014, prebaby, and I'm terrified it's not going to fit and I'll have nothing to wear on Friday. But I also don't want to try it on and make sure. #lazyproblems
The big has been going to a "reading camp" hosted by the local college's education program. It's been cute and he's having fun. But man, I really hate having to be out the door by a certain time in the morning.
LO has been super clingy. I'm afraid he's going to be crushed when I go back to work.
Today was our first trip to school/work with Dani's new car seat. She chatted and played with her toys the whole ride, and didn't fuss at all, so I'm hoping she is a lot more comfy. As extra bonuses, the new seat fits in the center of the backseat (infant seat did not) AND I have two useable front seats again! I'm still going to switch to an SUV when my lease is up, but in glad to have some more space in the meantime.
I was planning of skipping some work today for a long bike ride with my dad, but L woke up with a really hot fever. We got him some ibuprofen and got everyone back to sleep. He's still sitting at 101.5° but acting normally so we are having a mommy and L day at home.

H and I still have not gone out together for a date night since O was born so we decided we wanted to try and go out this weekend. Of course since it is a holiday weekend we can't find anyone to babysit. Oh well, we've waited 9.5 months what's another week or two.
I took both kids to well visits today (9 months for Allie and 3 yo for Ben). It went surprisingly well. Ben didn't talk at all, so his vision and hearing screenings were a flop. But he did comply with height, weight, blood pressure and all the other check up stuff. Allie was fine.
I decided to just do her 9 month blood work today and get that over with. It took 20 minutes to register her in the building. Then 20 minutes waiting to be called back for blood work. Then it took 20 minutes to get the blood they needed. She just wouldn't bleed. And the dr ordered additional iron screenings for her, since preemies are at a higher risk for anemia. We had to wait 10 minutes after they got her blood to see if they needed any more.
If you have ever held one kid down while making sure your other kid isn't rolling around on the ground in a lab, then you'll understand why wine is on the menu tonight.

I have not been pooped on by a bird, but my sister was crapped on by a seagull about 10 years ago. Then, when she was cleaning herself off in the ocean, her top came off. Thankfully I was there to help her out!
Took Jacob to another Baby and Me class and he did SOOOOO much better! Was a little overwhelmed when we got there, but by the end he was leaving my side to play with toys. He even smiled and babbled!

Annnnnnd my dog just peed in the middle of my living room floor. While I was in the room. With no signal that she had to go out. She's been acting off lately and it's really upsetting me. We got her bloodwork back and she is now on thyroid meds and the vet also gave us some calming pills. It's been a week and there has been no behavior change. I think since Jacob is a lot more active (and loud), she's having issues adjusting. Not sure how else to help her in this situation.
I'm in my room pumping because D wouldn't eat when we got home and my right boob is killing me. 2nd day of not pumping during work and righty (old faithful) is not happy about it.
Me and H are demoing our bathroom tomorrow and a contractor is doing the shower and plumbing Saturday. Then we are doing the tiling on Sunday and the walls Monday. The sink and vanity aren't coming in till next week. Should be a GREAT holiday weekend.
I'm currently crushing H's dreams by logically devil advocating his latest potential gadget purchase. Apparently he's forgotten that laptops can move to other rooms and he also has a less than year old tablet he doesn't use anymore, so buying a convertible tablet with inferior specs to his laptop doesn't really make sense as "stop gap" until he can get what he really wants in a year.

Hello life twin. Except my dog pooped on the floor. I don't think his health related but more directed at the baby and hating life changes.
+1 to dog struggling with mobile baby. I'm hoping it will settle down once he understands that it's ok for him to crawl around. I think his herding instinct is kicking in and he's having trouble with it.
Ugh bedtime is a mess tonight. It's been 45 min and he's still not down. He's got a cough right now and is teething so I'm afraid to do full CIO to resleep train. I started to, but then sent H to do a checkin, but he stayed in there and started singing to him. Not a checkin dude! So I'm nursing again.
Ellis has decided that she needs to wake up and start screaming 35-40 minutes after she goes to sleep. Apparently she can't link that sleep cycle on her own right now.
****loss and living child discussed***** We're queer. I'm 34, have severe stage 4 endo, and both fallopian tubes are gone. My love ("Manada" 33) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tav.in and Ca.sey at 21 weeks gestation.
Got a call at 7:30p to show the house at 11a tomorrow. Sorry, no. DH and I both work half days and cannot leave early to get the dog out of the house for an hour. We asked that they schedule for 4p or 5p. "Sure! We'll call you back and let you know." ...never called back. So now we have no clue if these people are coming or not, and no one is answering at the number that called us. I'm annoyed.

Who thinks it's okay to ask for a showing during business hours???
So the Dockatot arrived today and I was going to try it out for Mr. P's first nap tomorrow. By the time it was delivered and I brought it in, it was bedtime and I didn't feel like messing with it.
hovenb do you use yours at night as well? I purchased the grand because he was close to the minimum weight and I figured he would get the most use out of it but when reading over the FAQs, it says not to use it in the crib...not sure why but now I'm wondering if it is even worth keeping.
They say that for liability because I guess a baby could roll over it and get stuck between it and the crib bars..but I put mine in the crib. Their EU version Sleepyhead allows for crib sleeping so it's just US that it says that.
