somethingcleverer That's so frustrating about the punishment. H does similar things with Robin. He wants him to have lots of freedom but know not to cross certain lines, and no matter how many times I explain that 4 year olds really like having boundaries he doesn't seem to get it. Good thing they listen to you at least
xanthepants I know Coco's pretty mature, do you think she'd wear a watch? I've had kids in my class wear watches with timers to remind them to go potty.

sarasansh, Hmmm - that's an interesting idea! I think she'd LOVE that actually. She has a play watch she loves to wear. I might get let her pick one out as part of doing well with the move (as an ulterior motive too).
I don't want to adult! Cooper's party is Saturday and my house is in desperate need of cleaning. I've been sick all week so like nothing has been done. Can I just bulldoze it all into a dumpster? Also, I just spent $35 on dog food! Wtf, puppy! Get a job!!!
Currently on vacation - renting a lake house in TN with DHs family. Having a blast swimming and such . Abby went on an boat ride with DH while I put Jack down for a nap. Apparently he wasn't the only one who was tired.
Is 4 the year of the mindfucks? Because after almost 18 months of eating only like 25 different foods (and no meat besides hot dogs or chicken nuggets) Robin sat down and ate marinated chicken breast without a fight. 😳
ugh, somethingcleverer, tell him to kick it up a notch and learn how to parent his kids! What a pain that you have to babysit him while he tries to parent.
Hi ladies! I finally caught up on this new monthly chat stew thing and I'm digging the new idea. I can't believe we made it up to 526 pages.
Anyway, I hope you'll have me back, I've been ridiculously busy and trying to hang out as much as I can. I've been lurking when I can, but haven't been able to post much. I tried to post on Tapatalk a few times and it was acting crazy
Short update: life's been busy, works been crazy. I'm traveling a lot still for work - i have a handful of trips to Canada coming up again over the next few weeks.
J is doing well - her birthday was yesterday. I can't believe I have a four year old!!
E is doing great, she went from being behind on most of her development, to now being at or above average in most everything. She had a NICU follow up and they did a cognitive development check (including gross/fine motor skills) and they said she's doing amazing and we should keep up with what we've been doing!
As for feeding - she's still struggling there, it's her one thing she's actually not on par with right now. Still doing therapy for that, and we're talking about some other things we can do now to stimulate her eating/swallowing.
Latest news for E is that she needs tubes.... it's a long story actually - we had surgery already scheduled once, but now it's scheduled for July 27th. I hate that she needs another surgery, but I know this one will be extremely minor compared to others she's had!
I miss you ladies on the board! FB just isn't the same sometimes

Patrick told me that when he was 4 he would try pizza. He used to like it but hadn't had since before he was two. Anyway I assumed he would back out when he actually was four. But then he asked for it on his birthday and ate it. Then wanted it again for for dinner. He has also tried watermelon (didn't like it) and a different flavor of yogurt. I know that might not sound good but he is trying new things which is awesome. I'm pushing for carrots next. For some reason he thinks four is a big deal and you should try new things. I'm taking it.

Do you think you can get your kids to rub off on mine? My kid thinks being 4 means she get to argue about everything and just be a giant PITA.

So we met the owners of the house last night at the walk thru. They asked Cosette's name. Their daughter was named FN Cosette and her sister was FN Cosette. How kismet is that?
And OMG the house needs so much work. And there are mirrors in places I don't remember there being mirrors in. And they left us with some concrete deer in the back yard. Oh boy. Sarcastic.

But it's yours!! When my the crazy woman my parent's bought their house from moved out, she took all sorts of random shit she wasn't allowed to take, like stained glass window panes and a ceiling fan. So maybe leaving a few things is better?

Oh goodness. Things always look worse empty. Once you fix it up as beautifully as I know you will, it'll be fantastic. Happy moving day xanthepants!!
Ugggh Maggie has coxsackie virus. She was miserable all day yesterday and then spiked a 103 fever in the afternoon. I put her to bed hoping it was just a 24 hot thing, but it was back to 103 this morning. Pedi says she has big red blisters in her throat
xanthepants I'm betting YOUR NEW HOME will look completely amazing once you put your touches in it. I hope you post pics of all your decorating projects.
Aubrey has thrush, which is just so weird and random right now. We were at the eyeglass place ordering her glasses and she was being a goof trying them on and I spotted white dots all over her throat. Then I freaked out about hand foot and mouth but the doctor saw her tonight and said thrush. I'm glad it's not hfm but I'm wondering how she got thrush she hasn't been sick or on antibiotics.
Her is a picnic Aubrey trying on her glasses. What do you think? I really didn't love any of them on her but these were the best.

Omg. She looks great! Love that color. Sorry about the thrush. What do they do to treat that?

starfishy they are giving her diflucan, an antifungal for two weeks. He said if it keeps happening they will draw blood to check her immune system but if it's just a one time thing it's probably no big deal.
@sarasanh I'm sorry about Maggie! That sounds so rough! I hope she's feeling better soon! Do you have any pedialyte freezer things? Is she too young for them? I'm totally blanking on how old she is.

She's 10 months. I didn't try the freezer things because I thought she might be too young, but she's been loving the regular Pedialyte. Her fever is much lower today so she's not quite as miserable thankfully!

Hope she keeps feeling better! My DS had the blisters in his throat when he had it and it was so awful, he's never been more unhappy. 2-3 days were the worst and then it got better.
