I'm sure we've discussed this at least a little but I can't figure out how to search on tapatalk.
We are going on a family vacation to the mountains at the end of the month and I'm hunting a good carrier for L. I have a moby wrap that's okay but I think I'd like something a little more structured for the trip.
Right now at target, if you buy the ergo 360 for $160 you get $55 back in gift cards. Which seems like a great deal to me.
DH found an "Infantino Flip Advanced 4-in-1 Convertible Carrier" for $30! The reviews are decent but it still seems too good to be true. Has anyone heard of this or have one?
Also, does anyone have any carrier suggestions for very sweaty babies?

I vote for all weather lillebaby. When we were checking it out in the store, there was a couple with a 12 month old buying one to replace their ergo and they said it was so worth it and they wished they'd done so earlier. Back support was the biggest difference for me.
My Moby frankly feels more secure than ssc for the wee one at this size, though.
We got the lillebaby airflow or all seasons, I can't remember. I haven't gotten to use it yet because I don't know if DS2 is 7 lbs yet but I'll find out at the Dr on Weds. I'm looking forward to trying it out. I read lots of reviews trying to find the right carrier.

I've never heard of that either (I clearly know nothing lol) but I'll definitely add it to my research list!
I loved the all weather lillebaby when I saw it at the babywearing meeting! We are going to get one for sure. Do you have a babywearing group near you where you can try some out? It was really helpful to see multiple carriers in action and talk to people who use them.

We like the babybjorn. It's quite easy to adjust between any adult that's carrying her and it is simple to figure out how to put the baby in and out. I am not coordinated so the wrap type are not my cup of tea.
I really like my K'tan for this age baby. I've used a ring sling before , and I also like those, but I feel the k'tan is a little more hands free. I also like my Ergo, but when they are a bit bigger with more head control.
carolinaheart, we have a local consignment/baby boutique store that offers babywearing classes. Maybe check to see if any of your local stores have resources available? I've also heard that libraries sometimes have groups that meet.
I have a k'tan but haven't been able to get the hang of it. I have been using my ring sling the past few days and she seems much more secure and cozy (and has a clear airway, legs are out, etc.) I have an Ergo and like it, but I'll use it when she gets a bit bigger (the newborn insert is way too hot for Texas at this time of the year). I'mr really trying to practice and wear her more than I did DS.

From what y'all are saying, I'm thinking I just need to keep practicing with my moby. She just doesn't feel as secure as I'd like in it but clearly a ssc won't help like I thought.
I have an infantino flip from DS1 and haven't used it yet but it worked well with DS from 10-15 pounds. I hadn't used any other carriers at that point so I was happy with it. After that it was too heavy to be comfortable.
From 16- age 3.5 we used the Ergo sport and loved it. The ergo is much more comfortable and we've used it for all day hikes at Yosemite, etc. having used the ergo I couldn't go back to the flip.
I was debating the infant insert for the ergo but bought the boba instead for LO as they were the same price. So far I've used the boba twice and have really liked it. I used it for 6 hours today and it was perfect for LO. He's now 9 pounds and 12 days old for reference.

If you haven't yet, try watching some you tube videos to get the hang of wrapping it securely. The biggest thing I've found with the wrap is to be sure everything is pulled tightly for each step of wrapping it. And making sure it's not twisted.

I am currently loving my ring sling. When I get a little more comfortable with it, I'm going to start using the all seasons Lillebaby... Although I wish I would've gotten the airflow.

For SSC my favorite is kinderpack with koolnit. We have a standard that we started using when DD was about 8 months and still use it comfortably now at 21 months. The infant size cinches at the bottom so babies can fit in it woth good "M" seat smaller than they do tula or ergo. When DD was little we had an ergo with infant insert and it was hot. For DD2 I've pretty much exclusively used a ringsling thus far and I love it. We haven't gone on any strenuous hikes yet though.
Tula now has a mesh carrier, I've heard. I really liked the tula I tried but went with kinderpack because the tula was too warm. That was before their mesh version though. Tula does have a wide base so you may need to roll up a blanket underneath at this age.

happyday, my LC recommended the K'tan Breeze or Solly baby wrap for summer. I got the Solly baby and have successfully worn baby on 90-95 degree + humidity days. We were all hot still, but not too overheated.
Lurker here, but if you wouldn't mind a short lifespan, I have loved my Nesting Days carrier. It's only good until 18lbs but damn, so much better than the moby, IMO. Otherwise, another vote for Lilliebaby.
Bumping this thread because we went out in the Lille baby today and it was great. DD felt really secure in it. She's probsbly about 8lbs now. I did the method where I rolled the blanket and sat her on it. I loved the inside strap for her so she didn't move side to side. The head support was great. My only complaint is that I'm pretty small and I just felt like straps were hanging everywhere becuse I had to tighten everything so much. It looks a little ridic even my husband said something when I tried it on about how it looked like I was joking with a giant pack but it's comfy and she feels supported so definitely happy overall. I'm pretty sure the Ergo would look the same on me.
