Inspired by the favorite season discussion: I love shoveling snow. It's quiet after a snowfall and so calm and relaxing.
Random anecdote: I had a couple days of sciatic nerve pain last pregnancy and did some prenatal yoga stretches specifically for sciatica. No luck. Went out and shoveled after a snowstorm? Boom! The pain disappeared and did not come back.
I hate stores that are two levels. This seems to be fairly common around here with Target. I disliked it before I had a kid and now I hate it. I will try to avoid them ore air until I can go alone.
Out of all the places I've lived, woods/city/burbs, I dislike the suburbs the most. There are aspects I enjoy but I'd rather transport my house to the woods or the city.
I live in New England, so I guess my feelings on shoveling have to do with the type and amount of snow we're talking about. A few inches of fluffy powder? Sure! Pushable-snow is the best! 12 inches of wet heavy sludge? No thanks, DH can use the snowblower. Also, we own two properties (the one we live at and one we rent out), so it's double the work to shovel out both. There will come a day when DH and I make enough to hire a service...
Multi-level stores annoy me too.
I live in a semi burb-ish town right next to the city. All my burb friends would call where we live "in the city", but it's really more of a bedroom community. I think it's a nice compromise between quiet residential while also having all amenities in walking/pub transit distance. I grew up in the suburbs and while it took DH a few years to convince me to buy a house closer to the city, I don't regret it at all.
Not sure if this is a general UO, but it was a UO for me when I was a FTM. With DDs pregnancy, I was all "hold out on maternity clothes as long as humanly possible! Use all the bella bands and hair bands!" I probably went through week 23 before putting on a single maternity item. This time around, I'm all, don't care how many weeks along I am, comfort is more important.

The last time I did the same thing I held out a bit on maternity clothes, this time I was in them as soon as regular clothes became uncomfortable. There is no reason for me to uncomfortable in clothes with all the other crap going on.
ellabee I would pass on 12 inches of wet snow as well but a few inches? I'm fine with it. Love love mountains of fluffy lake effect. I have three different types of snow brushes and scrapers plus a mini shovel in my car for all the types I might encounter. Mh laughs at me except when he actually needs to use them!
lakegirl I love snow.. At Christmas. But the other 6-7 months of the year that I'm buried under thick freezing wet heavy snow and that the roads are so slick it's scary to go into town (because as much as they sand them, as soon as it snows it freezes again as average temp is -20c or so in the winter ) and the air that freezes my face and lungs.. I hate winter. Can't wait to grow up and be a snowbird lol.
I hate snow! If I can sit inside and look at it out a window I'm good. But driving, shoveling, scraping windows, no thank you. ETA it's a good thing I live in Florida right now.
I also dislike 2-story stores. I've never seen a Target like this!
I much prefer Targets with both Starbucks and a cafe. I don't think we have any here with just a Starbucks, and I think the one that just closed was the only one that didn't have a Starbucks.

Yes! I have a love/hate relationship with the suburbs. I wish I could walk everywhere I wanted like I did when I lived in the city instead of having to drive, but it's cheaper and the schools are better, which will be huge when DD is a bit older.
UO, I hate Target's with Starbucks. I want the market back, with icees and popcorn.
I disagree on this point as I am sitting here sipping my Starbucks bought in a Target this morning! Anytime I can reduce the number of times I have to get DD in and out of the the car is a win for me. Also, I think the Target I went to had the typical market as well.

Agreed! I miss walking to the museums and all the delicious food options. But enjoy having some space and the schools will be a plus.

Also I think we're both in the Philly-ish area?
Yes! I lived in Philly for years, still work there, but when we got married DH and I bought a house in the burbs.

The only thing snow is good for is shoveling in place of a work out if I can't drive to the gym. Otherwise, I hate snow and winter. Except I do like cuddling on the couch and watching weather channel during snow storms.
