Between a memorial service I had to go to this morning, and now taking the 3hr glucose test (because it was so much fun the first time!), I don't have much time to do anything but lurk today.
kokopelli - So many hugs for you and baby girl. I am so pissed off that you guys have to deal with this setback after everything you've been through, just because of someone else's mistake. It's not fair at all. Just keeping my fingers crossed that it's not as big of a setback as you're expecting and that really soon you'll be looking back at this episode with only annoyance and low-grade mama-bear rage - not the full-blown stuff.
Guys some crazed person just shoved me and my injured kid out of the way bc she decided we weren't checking out our library books quickly enough. I don't even k iw what to say
On an unrelated note, the search feature is not working and I am craving the pizza/flatbread you mentioned in randoms a little while back. Can you share again?
pbandjelly - glad to hear things are going well for you! Thanks for updating.

Peaches, goat's cheese, basil, and reduced balsamic. Also red pepper flake if you are so inclined
pbandjelly I'm glad to hear he is growing well! That must be exciting that he doesn't have to be in the isolette anymore. I hope you have been able to snuggle him and hold him a lot. I hope he can come home at 37 weeks too! Is your home close enough for you to visit NICU or are you at alternative housing?
Thankfully, he's only 25 minutes away, so I can visit for a few hours at a time a few times a day. Because he's stable, the NICU staff has been letting us hold him a lot. Which, I'm not sure who enjoys the snuggles more, me or him.
We happened to be in front of Crazybitch to check out our books so I took my sweet time while loudly chatting to my children about patience and how it is far more important to be polite and kind than to be quick.

Hi pbandjelly! So glad that he's stable and you are able to visit regularly.

Nicely done I'm sorry that you guys got shoved. That's ridiculous!

Huge, huge ((hugs)) kokopelli . I hope things go much better in the next week and the complications you are worrying about don't happen. I'm so sorry. Would it help you to file a complaint with someone at the hospital?
We already met with neonatologist team, nurse manager, school representative and others. They said it was an honest mistake and they are working on a system to make sure babies don't get wrong nipple. I guess it happens more frequently than one would think. My kid just was the one who aspirated. My guess is it was the combo of wrong nipple and inexperiened feeder. As a nurse I know mistakes happen and no system is fool proof. As a mother I hate myself for not staying and protecting her. The student requested to see me but I just said no. I told the teacher tell her to learn from her mistake and that will be enough for me. But if I know who it is I will hate her and that isn't fair
I'm really sorry that this happened, kokopelli. That's really kind of you to keep the student anonymous. You have every right to be angry.

Have more thoughts but have to finish my work day before j get to craft a thoughtful response. Either way kokopelli I'm so sorry that happened.
In other news, my registry stuff came in today! H gets home today! I finally plucked the ingrown arm pit hair I've had:) good day all around at the coffee house.
pttomato, I have been complaining about eating the same thing and having highs or lows after randomly. It's frustrating but I spoke to my diabetic friends about it and they say they experience the same thing. Also my endo says insulin resistance can increase further along in pregnancy so maybe that's why you hear 37 weekers have trouble.
kokopelli, sorry to hear about the set back. I feel like if I were at the hospital during the feeding I would have made the same mistake then felt worse as the mom than I ever could at a nurse.
Very sore after the chiro today. I'm hoping it's everything just getting back into the correct location and I'll feel better later.
I've been going to the chiropractor for the better part of 20 years. I am currently going every three weeks but will up it to every two at my next appointment. The last week or so of pregnancy, I go two three times a week. I hate a massage but love my adjustments. I know being pregnant we already drinks stupid amount of water, but today drink extra! It will help with being sore. Also, a heating pad on the worst spot for about 20 minutes before going to bed. I also recommend taking 1 Tylenol before bed. It took a little time for your back to get out of whack, but went back into place super fast. It will defintly cause soreness. I think the worst is the first day of an adjustment , DH says it's the next day. But he also won't do any of the things mentioned above. Trust me, when the soreness goes away you feel much better!!
So many hugs and love for you and baby girl kokopelli. I'm so sorry this happened. I completely agree with PPs that it's totally not on you that you went home. And I love what you said about refusing to see the nursing student - I feel the same way. ((Hugs)) mama ❤️

Sending lots of love and hugs to you kokopelli. I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with this set back. I give you lots of props for not finding out who it was and freaking out on them.
Me (30) MH (32) Dx: MFI (low all the things) M. 10/11. TTC Since 01/14 IUI#1-3(Letrozole + Trigger) = BFN Second Opinion. Changed RE's. IVF 09/15 Long Lupron 12R/9M/8F, Transferred 1=BFN. 4 frosties. FET #1 12/15 Transferred 1 (3 still on ice)
kokopelli I'm sorry about the great step forward and the huge step backward. Especially since the step backward was caused by medically error. ((Hugs)) to you!!
And I would state that in the future you would like all feedings and care be provided by only licensed professionals or under careful supervision (I know students need to learn, however need better supervision..I say this as a healthcare worker who has trained students).
dc2london I'm raging at that person for you!!!! Why are people so rude??
Aaaah yay! H's coworker just told him that his wife is 12 weeks pregnant. They have been going through IF and this was from their 2nd transfer. I always felt guilty going to work functions with H and putting my big belly in their faces but the last time we saw them we suspected she was pregnant from her clothes and a few comments she made. I am sooo happy we were right!!!

kokopelli so sorry! Please try not to blame yourself. It's 100% their fault. Sending my well wishes. pbandjelly I'm very glad to hear of your little ones progress!
kokopelli, I'm so sorry for set back. Hope LO is back on track soon! joy, it's belated but yay for your placenta moving! dc2london, I love the snark in your teachable moment
I've bitten the bullet and moved to the guest room tonight. Softer matress, same floor as the bathroom, and no keeping DH up if I toss and turn. I have high hopes for a good night's sleep finally.
I'm doing good. This week was rough because my 2 year old has hand foot mouth disease but we are at the end of that nightmare. Thank you for asking!
My 21 month old DD just got over HFM too...the past week was not easy! I'm glad she can finally eat regularly again and doesn't protest that her throat hurts anymore. Hope your little feels 100% soon and glad it sounds like you didn't get it!
