wittyandwaiting, with regard to the sound machine. J never was interested too much in pacifiers, stuffed animals any of that, but after like age 3 or so, my Mom gave him some sort of stuffed sea creature that has a sound machine in it. He started to like it at her house at bed. Along with his flashlight "sleep tools" as he calls them. So I got out some neglected giraffe with the sound thing in it- and the sounds were different. Holy Hell. Quick internet search finds the creature has been d/c ed so there is no exact same sound. Of the 4 buttons to choose from he has developed a preference for ONE SOUND only found on the sea creature. She found one on line somewhere and bought it as a back up, but I made him find a noise he liked well enough on the giraffe. He listens to it going to sleep- but significantly- he turns it on in the night if hes trying to go back to sleep-- cue me leaping out of bed, and taking him to the bathroom. Hes not a night waker, so if he rises out of sleep enough to turn his machine that means hes awake, but not awake enough to get up and pee... Long story short. The sound machine didn't really become all that useful until he was 4-5. He isn't addicted, can get to bed without it, but if Im not there, it does help him get into the rhythm some.
wittyandwaiting that's rough. Let's hope she sleeps from now on!
It's the middle of the night, at least by our regular standards and we haven't gone to bed yet. M is sleeping in her car seat now. Let's hope she realizes it's still nighttime when we get there.

I gave her the soother before pumping... I hate doing that. I don't want to start the habit and have her wake when it falls out. Well, I just pulled the thing out full on, strong suck. I don't want to jinx it, buuut........ shhh.

We are having a good night but that means I pumping. She age at 2 and only one side. So my other side is a mess. I'm trying not to be excited about good sleep cuz we are still young and have much time to derail. doesn't it all go bad after 4 months?
Thanks cetcar, we're up again at 4:30 now but at least I can nap tomorrow....or today.
Where are you travelling to now?
An island north of Seattle to visit CET's family then we're flying down to Cabo.
I think a nap will happen today. We finally went to bed at 2:30/3am. M woke up at 6 then 8 and now she happily dozing while eating. Those are pretty typical wake up times we just usually go to bed a whole lot earlier.
