H is going back to Crete again tomorrow for a week. I don't like it. He comes back next Friday and then his niece and nephew are flying in Saturday. If he misses a connection or something we're screwed because I'm not driving to Atlanta to pick up the kids with my 3 in the car. It's a 2.5 hour drive, and I would have to lug my 3 in with me to pick the kids up at the gate since they are minors. Nope.

Took J in because he was sounding congested. He has "creeping crud" - nasal congestion we can't do much to treat beyond running a humidifier and using saline drops. Here's hoping it clears out and doesn't develop into something more. Luckily it's not affecting his mood as he's currently blowing raspberries in the swing (because naps are obviously stupid).

You could try some Baby Vicks on the feet if he's wearing a sleeper. Don't get the stuff for adults. They also have little plug ins or pads that go in some of the humidifiers for extra aromatherapy.

Good call on the Baby Vick's! I'll have to get some of that. I didn't know they make things to put in the humidifier...that will need to be investigated!
The 4 month wakeful is the evilest of evil. That is all.
Yes. Worse than the newborn stage. I've always said that 3-6 months is the hardest part of the first year. They don't just fall asleep randomly and easily, they can't sit up so they depend on you to hold them a lot, adjusting back to work, etc.

Yes! we've gone from 2 wake ups a night to 4. Last week she'd go to sleep drowsy at bedtime and naps (even if they only lasted 40 minutes! ). This week I fight her for over an hour to 2 hours at bedtime and not s single nap in her crib yesterday. I'm freaking losing my shit.

Yep! My SIL said he only slept about 20-30 min the whole day. Ugh! He was exhausted by the time we got home. I took him a bath and gave him his bottle and he was done.
Full blown milk allergy confirmed by allergist. On an elemental formula starting today and should have a new baby in 7 days. I'm taking a poll. How upset should I be that the pedi didn't catch this sooner? I've taken him in at least 8x for reflux, gas, fussiness, eczema...
I would be annoyed but a lot of times these issues take longer to be diagnosed. Have you noticed a difference yet?
He did awful on the first elemental formula we tried... hives, screaming, puking.. the whole 9 yards. We switched him to a different one this morning so we'll see. Ugh.

What did you try and what's he on now? Did the reaction begin soon after you started the first formula or did it take some time to see?
Curious since I think we're dealing with a milk protein intolerance over here. Soy formula is helping but I didn't know if it takes awhile to see a reaction to the new protein.

We started on Gentlease.... he was super fussy so we went to soy... it was WAY worse. His reflux was terrible so we went back to Gentle Ease until last week when all his other symptoms started (spitting up, mucus in his poop, worse reflux). I took him back into the pedi when the diarrhea got bad. The dr. tested it and confirmed there was blood (it wasn't visible to the eye.)
I was talking to the allergist about why all of his symptoms randomly just got worse at 3 months. She said its pretty typical that she sees babies between 3 and 4 months old. Apparently the more your body is exposed to the allergen the more your body reacts to it.. she drew me a chart, it made sense at the time but I'd be terrible at explaining it now.
I asked about Soy as opposed to an elemental b/c he tested negative for a soy allergy and my doctor said it could show up later b/c a lot of babies with milk protien are also allergic to soy. and she also said she didn't like the data on soy, especially with boys. Not sure what that meant?
Have you tried Nutramigen or Alimentum? Nutramigen is a bit more expensive than standard formulas but I think Alimentum is on par. They're hypoalergenic and are good for most babies with a milk protein intolerance.
